Joe Biden says eight-year-old children should be allowed to decide that they are transgender

PHILADELPHIA, PA – “I will just flat out change the law.”

It was another stunning statement by former Vice President and current Democratic presidential contender Joe Biden at Thursday night’s ABC Town Hall in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

This time, the remark came in response to a question on transgender rights, posed by a voter.

Pennsylvania mom, Mieke Hacke, told Biden that she has two girls who are eight and ten years old.

The younger of the two, she said, is transgender. Hacke (somewhat) pointed to Trump Administrations rollbacks of transgender policies forced through by the Obama White House, followed with this question:

“How will you, as president, reverse this dangerous and discriminatory agenda and ensure that the lives and rights of LGBTQ people are protected under U.S. law?”

In addition to the above answer, the presidential candidate replied:

“Eliminate those executive orders, number one.”

He went on to say:

“The idea that an eight-year-old child, a 10-year-old child, decides, you know, ‘I want to be transgender, that’s what I think I’d like to be, it’d make my life a lot easier.’ There should be zero discrimination.

And, what’s happening is, too many transgender women of color are being murdered. They’re being murdered. I mean, I think it’s up to now 17, don’t hold me to that number. But, it’s higher now? And that’s just this year.

And so, I promise you, there is no reason to suggest that there should be any right denied your daughter or daughters.”

Biden continued on to point to his late son, Beau Biden’s handlings of some transgender issues during his time as attorney general in Delaware.

Biden said Beau “got the first transgender law passed in the state of Delaware.”

He described a time when Beau had an employee in the attorney general’s office who transitioned from male to female. Biden said his son supported the process and that he’s “proud of that.”

However, Breitbart fact checked that statement and found it was not entirely true.

The news outlet reported that while Beau Biden did support the state’s non-discrimination law, he did not technically pass it himself.

Twitter exploded with blow back after the comment.

One user tweeted:

“Great, now 8 year olds can take hormones that effectively chemically castrate them, or four women destroy their ability to reproduce. I can’t believe there are parents who support this.”

Another tweeted:

“In this exchange Biden essentially came out as being for a form of child abuse.”

Also on Twitter, even pro-Joe users pointed out that Biden was not politically correct in how he worded his response, though they didn’t seem to notice his subjective re-writing of history.

They zeroed in on the VP saying that transgender is choice, when saying a child “decides” on it.

One user, named Megan C, posted:

“Didn’t love all the language Biden used while answering the Q from the mom of a trans kid, but watching a presidential candidate acknowledge the humanity of trans adults and kids (and the epidemic of murders of trans woc) made me tear up.”

Another person who goes by “sugarfreepeach on Twitter, wrote:

“I was actually really really happy to see Biden’s support for trans folks tonight, even if his wording wasn’t perfect it’s clear he wants us protected and I appreciate that.”

Richard Grenell: “President Trump is the best President the gay and lesbian community has ever had.”

NASHVILLE, TN – Richard Grenell, the first openly gay Presidential cabinet member in US history, decisively stated:

“President Trump is the best President the gay and lesbian community has ever had.”

Grenell and other members of OUTspoken, which is a group of LGBTQ conservatives, received calls from the President, Vice President Mike Pence, and the Second Lady, Karen Pence.

Who is OUTspoken? Here is what they say about themselves via their website:

“We stand as proud supporters of freedom of thought and diversity of opinion. We champion equality and opportunity, and believe that conservative leadership and policies will provide opportunity for ALL Americans to thrive. For ALL families to flourish. For ALL communities to prosper.

“The cancel culture born out of the ‘resist’ movement has done nothing to foster critical thinking and acceptance of the LGBT community. While left-wing political structures strive to silence or belittle our voices, we rise to provide an alternative viewpoint.

“We amplify our voices to reach out to mainstream gays and lesbians looking for a common-sense community ready to support one another, not pit one faction against another. We engage with our allies to join the broader conservative movement, knowing freedom and liberty is the fastest trajectory to equality and prosperity.

“In this critical election, make sure your voice is heard. Be OUTspoken.”

Grenell, one of the leaders of the group, spoke to those calls, saying:

“…his [President Trump] support in the gay community is the highest any Republican has ever seen. Vice President Pence and President Trump both spoke with conservative gay leaders this weekend and personally thanked them for their historic work to re-elect Trump-Pence.”

Grenell was not the only member of the LGBTQ community to step up and address the calls.

Army veteran Rob Smith, who is also black, said:

“This is the strongest Republican administration in American history in so many different ways, but particularly in their embrace and acceptance of so many gay Republicans! The left want to continue to make being gay or lesbian a wedge issue, but that’s no longer so. And it feels great!”

Brandon Straka, who founded the WalkAway movement, tweeted:

“Tonight, a small group of gay conservative men came together to unite in a pledge to support @realDonaldTrump. @RichardGrenell & I got to speak for the first time. And then… PRESIDENT TRUMP CALLED US ON THE PHONE!!! POTUS expressed his great support for all of us. Tremendous!!!”

The #WalkAway Campaign was founded by Straka for the following:

“The Left has become so extreme and relentless that it is now the time for us to fight back! The #WalkAway Campaign is a movement of Patriots from all walks of life – men, women, black, brown, white, straight, LGBTQ, religious, and non-believers – who share something very important in common.

“WE ARE ALL AMERICANS, and we will not surrender our country.”

The praise coming from conservative members of this community stands in stark contrast with the vitriol coming from the left.

In August, the left-leaning Human Rights Campaign went on the record saying that Vice President Mike Pence is “the worst VP for LGBTQ people in modern history.”

Back in 2018, Brandon Wolf, VP of the Dru Project called the Trump administration “homophobic psychopaths” and said that VP Pence would have LGBTQ persons “in concentration camps hoping to pray away the gay.”

But it is that very type of identity politics that Grenell says President Trump avoids as he supports all Americans:

“The one thing I love about President Trump is he doesn’t care about these issues. He doesn’t play identity politics. You know, somebody recently asked me how many gays and lesbians work in the Trump administration. I had to answer, ‘I have no idea. I really don’t know.’

“This person said to me, ‘well, there you go — that’s the reason — because we had 2,410 in the Obama administration, the Obama-Biden administration.’ I said, ‘I’d be pretty offended that I was on a list that says here’s our gay and lesbian list.’ Thank God we don’t keep ‘a list.'”

He praised the President for hiring people based on who is best qualified for the job rather than race, gender, or sexual orientation:

“Thank God we don’t hire people because they come out of a box and say ‘here is a black, here is a Hispanic, here is a gay person.’ President Trump. I know him well. He doesn’t care about these types of issues.

“They’re irrelevant characterizations about someone. What is relevant is whether or not they can do the job.”

Who would know better than a gay man who worked for the President, not because he was gay and would check a box in the ‘Affirmative Action’ quota, but because he was qualified to do the job.

But the reality is, the left will hate the President, no matter what he says or does.
