What we have here is a failure to communicate Comey
As an objective viewer, you would have to admit that there was something not quite right about the timeline of former FBI director, James Comey’s leak. If, as Comey has stated under oath, that President Trump’s tweet about possible tapes of their conversations is what precipitated him leaking his own memos to the press, then information from the memos would not have been reported by the press prior to that date.
And therein lies the problem. Comey testified that he woke up in the middle of the night on Monday, which was the 15th of May, it was at that point he decided that his memos must be made public. On May 16 the New York Times published an article referencing the memos and information in them.
Comey said he had decided to do this because of President Trump’s tweet which had occurred on May 12. However, on May 11 the New York Times published an article referencing information that was in those memos without actually referencing the memos.
