What is it like to be involved in a police shooting?

You’re on high alert, talking to a hostile man with a gun in his hand. Minutes seem like hours. Suddenly his gun comes swinging up at you, and you fire before he can hurt you or anyone else.

Ever wonder how the officers involved in a critical incident feel after pulling the trigger? What their family and friends go through? How long the investigation continues afterward? Not only are you affected by the event, but also by what could’ve been, the aftermath and the recovery.
