Commissioner Rodney Brewer, Director of the Kentucky State Police sadly reports the death of Trooper Eric K. Chrisman.
Trooper Chrisman, 23, was killed in a two vehicle crash while he was responding to a reckless driver complaint. His 2010 Ford Crown Victoria patrol vehicle failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway he was traveling on and was struck by a semi truck that was traveling in the opposite direction. Trooper Chrisman’s patrol vehicle was stuck in the driver’s side door. Trooper Chrisman sustained severe head injuries as a result of the crash and died at the scene.
Trooper Chrisman served the Kentucky State Police for only six months and was assigned to the detachment in Lyon County. He is survived by his parents and two siblings.
