In Memoriam – Officer Jonathon MolinaThe El Paso Texas Police Department is flying their flags a half staff in honor of Officer Jonathon Molina who passed away.

On September 25, Officer Molina was off duty and observed three persons who were in the process of vandalizing his personal vehicle.   When he confronted them, he identified himself as a police officer. One of the three subjects assaulted Officer Molina knocking him to the ground.  When Officer Molina’s head hit the ground he was knocked unconscious.

This didn’t stop the suspects from continuing their vicious assault on Officer Molina causing severe head and facial injuries. The three suspects were apprehended and charged with assaulting a public servant.   The primary assailant, Juan Antonio Gonzalez, 17, has had his charges upgraded to capital murder since Molina’s death.  He is being held in the El Paso County Jail on a $5 million dollar bond.

Officer Molina was transported to the University Medical Center where his condition remained critical until he passed away.

Officer Jonathon Molina, gone but never forgotten.
