In Memoriam:  Officer Anthony Neri

 

Chief William Dalton of the Sanibel Police Department in Florida, sadly reports the death of Officer Anthony Neri.

Officer Neri, 63, suffered a cardiac medical emergency while participating in the agency’s physical fitness program at the Lee County Sheriff Department’s gun range.

He was transported to a local hospital where he later passed away.

 

Officer Neri served the Sanibel Police Department for three years as a police aide and then was promoted to a uniform patrol officer for the next four years.  He previously served the United States Department of Treasury for thirty years as a Revenue Officer and then served the Union Township Police Department in New Jersey for three years prior to joining the Sanibel Police Department.  Officer Neri is survived by his wife.

Officer Anthony Neri is gone, but will never be forgotten.  EOW:  Monday, May 6, 2019.
