Sheriff Nathan T. Johnson, of the Real County Sheriff’s Department in Texas, sadly reports the death of Deputy Sheriff Mark Cox.
Deputy Cox, 57, was participating in a canine training seminar when he suddenly collapsed. Other officers in the training program immediately rendered aid to Cox. Consequently, he was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Cox served the Real County Sheriff’s Department for three years. He previously served the Edwards County Sheriff’s Department in Texas for five years. Moreover, he served in law enforcement in Florida for several years.

He is survived by his wife and two children.
Deputy Sheriff Mark Cox is gone, but will never be forgotten.
