The Surete du Quebec Police Department has announced that Montreal Provincial Police Constable Donovan Lagrange has passed away due to injuries he sustained in a traffic crash. Constable Lagrange was working a radar speed zone on Highway 640 near Bois-de-Filion when he had stopped two vehicles for speeding.
After contacting the drivers, he was returning to his patrol vehicle which was parked in front of the two suspect violators. A fourth vehicle struck the two parked vehicles and also struck Constable Lagrange, throwing him 30 meters down the road. Constable Lagrange was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries the following day. Constable Lagrange was 33 years and a 9-year departmental veteran.
Constable Lagrange is the second officer to be killed in the line of duty in the last 10 days.
On September 26th, Constable Katia Hadouche was killed when she lost control of her patrol vehicle and struck a tree. Constable Lagrange is survived by his wife.
