ANAHEIM, CA- Disney, which famously went to battle with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis over that state’s Child Protection Act, hilariously named the “Don’t Say Gay” bill may have a little bit of explaining to do over its blatant virtue-signaling hypocrisy.
The decision to throw down with the radical alphabet mafia cost the entertainment titan a ton of money in canceled Disney+ subscriptions and canceled Disney World vacations by parents who think their children don’t need to be groomed by what used to be a wholesome entertainment company.
Now, they may have some ‘splainin’ to do with the alphabet community.
According to RedState, the House of Mouse has decided to remove all LGBTQXYZ content from Disney+, the company’s streaming service. Oh, not for the West but for Middle Eastern countries as a means to pacify censors there.
Bounding Into Comics writes that after several Disney films were banned in the Middle East for alphabet community-friendly content, such as Thor: Love and Thunder and The Eternals, Disney has caved to censors in Middle Eastern countries and will remove LGBTQ content from Disney+ there.
According to a release, a Disney spokesperson said:
“Content offerings differ across our many Disney+ markets, based upon a number of factors. Content available should align with local regulatory requirements,” while also stressing the platform has parental controls which allows parents to decide what their family members are able to view. [emphasis added]
So, if a local regulatory requirement such as in Florida says that children in grades K-3 cannot be exposed to radical LGBTQ ideology that sends Disney into convulsions, but when a Middle Eastern country likewise is concerned about such content being streamed into their homes, they merely concede and remove the content? For Disney, money talks and BS walks.
Bounding Into Comics wrote that the platform will not release some of their major productions over the past few years to avoid angering foreign audiences.
“The decision to avoid upsetting the Middle East based on their views towards LGBTQ content is a major shift from how Disney took on Ron DeSantis and the state of Florida earlier this year.”
Disney’s move from family-friendly fare was on full display with this year’s release of a prequel to the Toy Story series, Lightyear, which inserted a lesbian kiss in the film which was intended for children.
The public responded by largely ignoring the movie, an unadulterated bomb which led to a loss of over $100 million when considering marketing, production and end costs. That is one of the films Disney+ has removed from their Middle East offerings.
Disney has apparently decided that kowtowing to the woke mob is a good business practice, despite the fact the LGBTQ mafia comprises a rather small minority of the American public.
The same-sex scene in Lightyear was initially cut from the movie, however Disney’s virtue-signaling department reinserted it in protest of the Florida legislation.
When the movie was initially banned in countries such as Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Egypt, the UAE, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Malaysia and Indonesia, the very “tolerant” “star” of the movie, Chris Evans said anyone who is opposed to the same-sex kiss is an “idiot” who will “die off like the dinosaurs.”
See, they believe in choice, as long as it’s their choice, whether that means abortion or what films you want to expose your kids to.
“The real truth is those people are idiots. There are always going to be people who are afraid, unaware, and trying to hold on to what was before. But those people die off like dinosaurs,’ Evans said in an interview with Reuters.
“I think the goal is to pay them no mind, march forward, and embrace the growth that makes us human,” he continued.
Evans’ comments backfired badly on Disney, where filmgoers decided to take their children to see Minions: The Rise of Gru, which grossed $757 million globally as of August 11, which is about $530 million more than Lightyear drew in theaters despite having two weeks lag time.
Disney was on the forefront of speaking out against the Florida bill, which leftists have titled the “Don’t Say Gay” bill, however nowhere in the bill is the word “gay” even mentioned. All the bill does is prevent kids from kindergarten to 3rd grade radical LGBTQ content, which to be honest probably doesn’t go far enough.
So Disney, which beat its chest and proclaimed itself the bastion of virtue and progressive values by going up against the evil Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, is so committed to the alphabet agenda that it tucked its tail and hid when their bottom line was threatened overseas.
Because when push comes to shove, for companies such as Disney it isn’t about having the courage to stick to its convictions, not having the courage to walk the walk instead of talking the talk, but it is as always about their bottom line, in this case in the Middle East.

Disney gambles that the left will win, and they’ll monetize- but they’re wrong
Disney’s theme parks, lovable characters and movies are well known and adored by millions- perhaps billions – of people throughout the world. Because of this, one would simply assume that the Walt Disney Corporation is all about family values, wholesome morals and generosity and kindness.
But with a total net worth surpassing $200 billion (statista.com), it shares one of the same characteristics found in many massive, conglomerate businesses- greed.
When greed becomes a motivating factor for businesses, it’s hard to stop. In fact, the only question that remains for them how can we make more money?
With that mindset, morality often gets pushed aside, questionable practices become the norm, and everything is pushed to the limits.
We’ve all heard the phrase sex sells because it’s true. And Disney is no stranger to the game and plays it like a world-class chess champion.
Over the last few decades, there have been dozens of racy, subliminal sexual innuendos, some visual, others verbal, hidden within its movies and products which are all designed to tap into the unsuspecting subconscious of innocent children and teenagers- all in effort to expand the Disney brand to sell more products.
It’s a gross display of greed knowing no bounds.
THE WOKE APPROACH
Disney has recently added another weapon to its immoral arsenal- politics. And just like its sex sells agenda, Disney’s new ‘woke’ approach isn’t about improving social justice, it’s about making more money.
It’s evident that Disney’s approach to politics is about following the disturbing trend of extreme liberalism and believing it will take over. Disney is reading the growing divide within America and is putting its chips on this new ‘’ agenda.
Couple that with a company loaded with young “professionals” with have very limited life experience and a disturbingly misguided ideology who believe they know what’s best for America.
One thing is certain, Disney is going to lose that fight. As the world is slowly getting back to normal from the pandemic, it is becoming clear that this ‘woke’ ideology isn’t working.
What works is the rule of law. It’s the beating heart of America and it’s the law enforcement community that runs through its arteries to make it all work.
The ‘woke’ agenda of labeling the entire law enforcement profession as the problem is becoming increasingly absurd as the crime rates continue to skyrocket in liberal cities such as New York and Los Angeles.
It will be interesting to see what Disney does next once they begin to see the trend swing the other way. Their gamble that this new ‘woke’ ideology will be the permanent solution is going to cost them- as it has already.
Since this time last year, Disney stock has dropped nearly forty percent, with no end in sight.
Disney’s choice to pick what they thought was going to be the ‘winning’ side was a gamble fueled by greed. Their history of immorality reared its ugly head yet again but this time, the result will be different.
The only question is how is Disney going to dig itself out of this mess? The only realistic, logical answer is… to give up their ‘woke’ attitude and do the right thing.
But will they? We shall see.
The following editorial is the opinion of the author, a current staff writer for Law Enforcement Today.
ANAHEIM, CA- Sorry, Mickey. Parents apparently care about their children’s welfare more than they care about your newly-found woke ideology. What’s the saying? Get woke, go broke? Welcome to karma, Disney.
The Walt Disney Company, at one time famous for producing family-friendly programming on the one hand, while gouging parents who attend their theme parks on the other, is finding out the hard way that the American people weren’t too keen with the sudden hard left turn made by the House of Mouse.
In about a one-year period, Disney has seen its stock plummet, falling about 50 percent. This as people tire of Disney’s decision to woke-ify its brand, with their latest decision to take a family favorite, Buzz Lightyear, and kick Tim Allen, who has been the longtime voice of Buzz, to the curb, a clearly political move due to Allen’s conservative leanings.
What the leftists at Disney failed to realize was that Tim Allen made Buzz Lightyear.
Then there was the matter of sexualizing an animated classic, deciding to embed a lesbian makeout scene into a children’s film. This was clearly a case of the ruling class at Disney deciding it was more important to show how woke they were than concerning itself with knowing its audience.
The turnout at movie theaters to see Lightyear has been a snooze fest. Simply put, parents don’t bring their children to the movies to be indoctrinated.
Disney has similarly ruined other brands it inherited, such as Star Wars and Marvel, in addition to Pixar which is the company behind the Toy Story franchise. As Red State notes, there have been entire channels on YouTube created which have individually slammed Disney’s mishandling of Star Wars, Marvel and Pixar.
Disney badly anticipated how its typically loyal audience would respond to Disney’s decision to go full woke and the fact that the story writing in their new productions has been an abject failure. As Red State notes, “leftist politics has infected everyone from Disney’s brass to their writing staff.” And their bottom line has suffered.
In the case of “Lightyear,” the lesbian kiss (totally unnecessary) was bad enough, however the man who took Allen’s place as the voice of Buzz Lightyear, Chris Evans (whoever he is) referred to those critical of the deviant sexual scene as “idiots.”
The downward fall continued with the introduction of a new show on Disney+, “Ms. Marvel,” which was released with the lowest viewership numbers the Disney streaming service has seen of a program to date, especially compared with other programs.
Disney’s last live-action remake, “Mulan,” was greeted with controversy due to the fact Disney decided to suck up to the Chinese Communist government and the film was recorded in the area of China where Muslim Uyghurs are being held in concentration camps. It was a very bad look for Disney.
By taking sides in Florida’s Parental Right Bill, Disney turned off well over 50% of its potential audience. Disney could have just remained silent, however chose to insert itself in the controversy. An overwhelming majority of American parents don’t support indoctrinating children in radical LGBTQ ideology however Disney decided to draw a line in the sand. Unfortunately for Disney, they’re standing on the wrong side of that line.
People can claim that Disney (in particular “Lightyear”) is suffering due to the current recession (let’s call a spade a spade, we’re in a recession). However the current economic malaise didn’t have a negative effect on two other blockbusters released in the past few weeks, including “Top Gun: Maverick” and “Jurassic Park: Dominion,” both of which had record-setting box offices.
Disney is also a victim of its own success. When Disney’s theme parks were closed due to the pandemic, people were anxious to return to the parks with their families when they reopened. However people are simply unwilling to spend $5,000 for a five day stay at a Disney resort, theme park tickets which are confiscatory in price, and then you have to fly to get there. Especially when Disney’s values don’t meld with that of mainstream America.
For those reasons, a lot of Americans are turning away from Disney and toward more family-friendly choices, where they don’t have to worry about their children being indoctrinated into a lifestyle that parents oppose.
Disney has nobody to blame but themselves for losing half their value in the stock market. If they choose to continue putting woke ideology of an overwhelming minority of their employees before their audience, they will lose a hell of a lot more.
For another one of our previous pieces about Woke Disney, we invite you to:
The following includes editorial content which is the opinion of the writer.
Time was, when a parent saw the Cinderella castle at the beginning of a movie or television program, with the mystical “When You Wish Upon a Star” playing, you knew it was a safe space.
You knew that the program to follow would be wholesome, family entertainment. You didn’t have to necessarily worry about subliminal messages in the content.
However as time went on, some subtle changes were noticeable. For example the animated movie Pocahontas contained not-so-veiled comments about white Imperialism and spoke of the newcomers to America in not so glowing terms.
It was subtle but there if you paid attention. But for most parents, the content in Disney movies was trustworthy. As we’ve seen lately however, there is a lot more going on at the House of Mouse than parents realize.
When Disney launched their streaming platform Disney+, they began to issue statements which should have raised a gigantic red flag. We heard that some movies, such as Song of the South were going to be excluded. Other movies would have what amounted to “trigger” warnings at the beginning.
Now, according to Breitbart, the Walt Disney Co. had internal discussions on what they called “potentially problematic” movies and characters, among them Tinker Bell and Captain Hook from the 1953 Disney classic Peter Pan. Tinker Bell, remember, has a leading role in the nightly fireworks show at the Magic Kingdom. Now she’s problematic?
According to a New York Times report, Tinker Bell and Captain Hook were among characters who might perpetuate “negative stereotypes.” Another character from The Little Mermaid, Ursula, raised concerns of racism and homophobia.
The Times report said Disney began a review of its movie library as it began the ramp up to the Disney+ streaming service in 2019. Part of the initiative called “Stories Matter” caused Disney to add disclaimers to its classic films for containing “negative depictions or mistreatment of people or cultures.”
That team, two current Disney executives told the Times, privately flagged certain characters as potentially “problematic,” with those findings sent to senior Disney leaders.
Tinker Bell was flagged because she was deemed to be “body conscious” and jealous of Peter Pan’s attention, the executives said.
Meanwhile Captain Hook was exposed as another potential liability because they feared he could expose Disney to accusations of discrimination or prejudice against individuals with disabilities because he is a villain.
They believe his character portrays prejudice against disabled people because he wears a prosthetic hook in place of his hand. As if there are no villains with disabilities.
Breitbart previously reported that Disney launched the streaming service and made sure to include all the social justice warrior trigger warnings on some of its classic movies. Those films included Dumbo, Swiss Family Robinson, Davy Crockett: King of the Wild Frontier, and the original Lady and the Tramp, noting the films may contain “outdated cultural depictions.”
“Stories shape how we see ourselves and everyone around us. So as storytellers, we have the power and responsibility to not only uplift and inspire, but also consciously, purposefully, and relentlessly champion the spectrum of voices and perspectives in our world,” the Stories matter Team says on its website, the Post Millennial reported.
“As part of our ongoing commitment to diversity and inclusion, we are in the process of reviewing our library and adding advisories to content that includes negative depictions or mistreatment of people or cultures. Rather than removing this content, we see an opportunity to spark conversation and open dialogue on history that affects us all. We also want to acknowledge that some communities have been erased or forgotten altogether, and we’re committed to giving voice to their stories as well.”
“We can’t change the past, but we can acknowledge it, learn from it and move forward together to create a tomorrow that today can only dream of,” the Stories team continued.
The character of Ursula in The Little Mermaid was flagged due to her “flamboyant behavior” which is “potentially homophobic” and she comes across as “queer-coded,” the Times reported. In addition her dark complexion and light-purplish skin tone could be viewed by the triggered as “racist.”
Meanwhile in Dumbo, a crow murder scene is viewed as a “homage to racist minstrel shows, where white performers with blackened faces and tattered clothing imitated and ridiculed enslaved Africans on Southern plantations.”
Aristocrats depicts a cat with slanted eyes and buck teeth, which the team describes as “a racist caricature of East Asian peoples,” the report said.
The trigger warning will read as follows:
This program includes negative depictions and/or mistreatment of people or cultures. These stereotypes were wrong then and are wrong now. Rather than remove this content, we want to acknowledge its harmful impact, learn from it and spark conversation to create a more inclusive future together. Disney is committed to creating stories with inspirational and aspirational themes that reflect the rich diversity of the human experience around the globe.”
Disney forgot the part about indoctrinating the kids into far-left, deviant, woke ideology.
