“Hundreds of thousands” of military service members face court martial over refusing new health order from Pentagon

WASHINGTON, DC – Members of the U.S. military are speaking out against the Defense Department’s mandate the all personnel receive the COVID-19 vaccination.

All military personnel are required to receive the vaccine by September 15, according to the Defense Department.

Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin issued a memo Wednesday stating:

“After careful consultation with medical experts and military leadership, and with the support of the President, I have determined that mandatory vaccination against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is necessary to protect the Force and defend the American people.

“To defend this nation, we need a healthy and ready force.”

Pentagon press secretary John Kirby said that 68% of active-duty forces are fully vaccinated and more than 76% have received at least one shot. Kirby told the media:

“The secretary has made clear his expectation to the military departments that he wants them to move with some alacrity here and get the force fully vaccinated as fast as possible.”

Kirby stressed that the military would work to convince hesitant personnel who express concern about the virus, but that the requirement is not negotiable:

“It’s a lawful order. We fully anticipate that our troops are going to follow lawful orders. When you raise your right hand and take that oath, that’s what you agree to do. “

Failure to comply could result in punishment under the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ), with the possibility of a dishonorable discharge. Article 92 under the UCMJ says that failure to obey a direct order is a dereliction of duty.

Many in the military oppose the mandate. It is unclear if any would accept punishment rather than comply. Air Force veteran Jonathan Artiles said the military should learn from past mistakes:

“The last time they forced people to get a vaccine like this it was terrible. I remember when they were forcing people to get the Anthrax shot, and it was doing more harm than good.

“Once they saw a few people had adverse side effects, they removed the vaccine.”

After six years implementing of the Anthrax vaccine program, it was halted in 2004 after a court injunction declared the program illegal. Artiles said that, like the Anthrax vaccine, the future effects of the vaccine remain unknown:

“We do not know all the long-term side effects of this vaccine! Also, what’s up with all these incentives? If you get the vaccine, we will enter you into a lotto.

“It’s like they are bribing us to volunteer for something dangerous. I don’t like it! I don’t like the way they’re pushing it on us.”

An Air Force cadet said there was pressure from leadership to be vaccinated even before the mandate:

“There was a lot of indirect pressure to be vaccinated before it was even mandatory. And that’s coming from our peers and especially during our basic training where … the people in charge of us were always making like indirect comments.”

Another Air Force member said the pressure to become vaccinated is harassment:

“We get a lot of pressure from our commanders … and they tell you these sob stories to heavily persuade you, and it’s borderline harassment.

“It makes you wonder, well I joined to change my life and they’re all about inclusion and diversity, but I have to restart just because of the shot. I’m not getting that shot.”

An active Air Force member said that he felt as though military members who refuse to take the vaccination will be treated like criminals. He said military personnel could receive a dishonorable discharge for refusing to follow the order:

“That’s basically putting us in the same category as rapists and killers, which I think that’s insane.

“They’re basically saying we’re felons, which I think is crazy.”

Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY), who held a meeting with servicemembers to discuss the mandate, introduced HR 3860 in June to prohibit vaccine mandates in the military.

The bill sits in the House Committee on Armed Services. The bill is intended “to prohibit any requirement that a member of the Armed Forces receive a vaccination against COVID-19.”

U.S. Naval Commander J.H. Furman said the vaccine mandate could be dangerous to national security. The commander issued a two-page memo saying:

“The world is simultaneously learning about this new technology amongst the largest vaccine rollout in human history. The data on both the virus and the vaccines are new and not yet scientifically reliable.”

Pointing to a study by the Journal of the American Medical Association that found 23 healthy male military members suffered moderate to severe myocarditis after receiving the vaccine between January 1 and April 30.

‘Antifa’ anarchists violently attack anti-mask protesters in bloody fight, leaving one person stabbed

August 15, 2021

LOS ANGELES, CA – Dueling protests turned into an outright street brawl, as an organized demonstration dubbed as the “Choose Freedom March” that was protesting against mandatory vaccinations clashed with another group who organized a protest dubbed “No Safe Space for Fascists” which that group apparently arrived only to counter demonstrate against the “Choose Freedom March” group.

In short, the brawl was chaotic and at least one person was stabbed during the incident, with reports suggesting that the man stabbed originated from the “Choose Freedom March” group.

The clash between the two groups transpired on August 14th outside of Los Angeles City Hall.

The “Choose Freedom March” organizers had billed their rally as a simple demonstration to oppose the likes of mandating vaccinations, vaccine passports, mask mandates, and the sort.

Apparently, fliers circulated for a counter demonstration against the “Choose Freedom March” that labeled the group as “fascists”.

Demonstrators from the “Choose Freedom March” arrived at City Hall at around 2:00 p.m. for their pre-planned rally. At around the same time, a few dozen counter protesters from the “No Safe Space for Fascists” group had amassed around the corner of 1st and Spring Street.

At roughly 2:30 p.m., both of the groups converged at 1st and Spring Street and the brawl ensued.

Video shows a handful of various clashes and skirmishes, with some of the instances involving multiple demonstrators encircling isolated counter protesters and calling them out as being “Antifa”.

Shouts of “unmask them” could also be heard emanating from the crowd as the fights transpired.

Even with video having captured portions of the brawl, it’s really unclear as to which group through the first punch.

Local media reports note that demonstrators from both protest groups have blamed the opposing group for being the instigators of the clash.

LAPD Captain Stacy Spell noted that organizers from the “Choose Freedom March” secured a permit for their demonstration, and said police are actively investigating the fight that broke out:

“We are on scene to maintain order after a fight broke out between Antifa and people gathered for the permitted event. We are aware of one male that was stabbed and is being treated by Fire Department personnel. No arrests have been made but [the] investigation is ongoing.”

Police on the scene of the fight were able to get the groups separated and establish a skirmish line to avoid further clashes between the two groups. At least two observers documenting the incident were injured during the fracas.

This is an ongoing investigation.
