Dems on House Committee state gun manufacturers target “masculinity, white supremacy, and military grade weaponry”

WASHINGTON, D.C. – According to a report from Insider, the House Committee on Oversight and Reform says that gun manufacturing companies hard-sell masculinity, allude to white supremacist groups, and tout military-grade weaponry.

A report from the Committee indicates that leading gun makers have made more than $1 billion from selling AR-15-style semi-automatic weapons in the last decade.

According to a statement from Rep. Carolyn B. Maloney, Chairwoman of the Committee:

“How much are the lives of America’s children, teachers, parents, and families worth to gun manufacturers? My Committee’s investigation has revealed that the country’s major gun manufacturers have collected more than $1 billion in revenue from selling military-style assault weapons to civilians.”

She added:

“These companies are selling the weapon of choice for mass murderers who terrorize young children at school, hunt down worshippers at churches and synagogues, and slaughter families on the Fourth of July. In short, the gun industry is profiting off the blood of innocent Americans.”

The report stated that these companies use “aggressive marketing tactics” to target young men by emphasizing masculinity, making veiled references to white supremacist groups, and touting military-grade weaponry. Maloney said in her statement:

“My Committee has found that the business practices of these gun manufacturers are deeply disturbing, exploitative, and reckless.

These companies use aggressive marketing tactics to target young people – especially young men – and some even evoke symbols of white supremacy. Yet we found that none of these companies bothers to keep track of the death and destruction caused by their products.”

Ryan Busse, a former firearms executive who is now a senior policy adviser to gun-safety advocacy group Giffords Law Center, stated that it is crucial to examine the ways that gun companies market their weapons.

He noted the change in how guns had been pitched over the years, from an emphasis on hunting and self-defense to selling military-grade weapons and tactical culture. He added:

“The [gun] industry is both creating these customers and marketing to them. And therefore, it’s propagating more of this radicalization.”

The House Committee began its investigation into the top five firearm makers in the country in May following the mass shootings in Buffalo, New York, and Uvalde, Texas, that left 31 victims dead. Both gunmen used legally purchased semi-automatic rifles.

Busse said that the primary target of gunmakers’ advertising is “this angry, young male, politically active, conservative, aggrieved, dreams of using the AR-15 to ‘make things right in the world.'” He added:

“In other words, people who also fall right into domestic terror groups and radicalization and everything else.”

Reportedly, some gunmakers have also appeared to make references to far-right groups.

One example of this political targeting, according to Insider, is an AK-47-style pistol, produced by Palmetto State Armory, which is adorned with a pattern resembling the signature Hawaiian shirts worn by the Boogaloo Bois far-right extremist group.

According to a report from Zero Hedge, the only issue with that statement from Insider is that the Boogaloo Bois support Black Lives Matter (BLM) and do not like former President Donald Trump.

The Democrat Committee report also knocked gunmakers for “preying on masculinity” by claiming that their firearms will put people “at the top of the testosterone food chain.”

According to Insider:

“An example of this is the ‘Man Card’ campaign that AR-15 maker Bushmaster launched in 2010, which marketed its guns to a ‘Man’s Man’ in a ‘world of rapidly depleting testosterone.'”

There are around 19.8 million AR-15 style rifles officially in circulation in the United States. Republicans on the House Committee have accused Democrats of blaming the gun industry instead of looking at the causes of violent crime. Rep. James Comer, the Committee’s top Republican, said in a statement:

“Republicans want to target criminals. Democrats want to target lawful gun owners and take away their guns.”

Rep. Gaetz co-authors bill “Disarm the IRS Act” in an effort to ban the agency from stockpiling guns and ammo

August 4th, 2022

WASHINGTON, D.C – Florida Republican Congressman Matt Gaetz has introduced a bill that would ban the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) from purchasing any more ammunition.

According to reports, the IRS has already purchased an alarmingly high amount and Gaetz’s bill, dubbed the “Disarm the IRS Act,” would forbid the tax-collecting agency from buying anymore ammunition.

As of this writing, the agency has already acquired up to 5 million rounds and in 2022 alone, the agency has purchased at least $725,000 worth of ammunition. Gaetz said:

“I’m not against stockpiling ammunition, but you shouldn’t have to be a D.C. accountant to do it; you ought to be a mechanic in Pensacola.”

The Florida Republican added that the Biden administration wants to “disarm Americans, open the border, empty the prisons,” and “still collect your taxes,” and may even use the massive stockpile of ammunition to do it by force.

The bill is co-sponsored by Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), Paul Gosar (R-AZ), and Jeff Duncan (R-SC), and first has to pass through the powerful House Ways and Means Committee before it is considered by the full House.

According to a report from Fox News, Gaetz said that it’s not just the IRS, but the Railroad Retirement Board and other federal agencies have been stocking up on thousands of rounds of ammunition as civilians face shortages. Gaetz said:

“Call me old-fashioned, but I thought the heaviest artillery an IRS agent would need would be a calculator. I imagine the IRS in green eyeshades and cubicles, not busting doors down and emptying Glock clips on our fellow Americans.”

He added:

“‘Tax cheat’ isn’t usually a term we hear alongside ‘armed and dangerous’. And there was a report that showed over a 10-year-period, the IRS actually stockpiled $11 million worth of ammunition.”

Gaetz continued:

“That’s why I’m working on legislation to put a total moratorium on the IRS buying ammo. When we used to talk about the IRS being weaponized, we were talking about political discrimination, not actual weapons for the IRS.”

Gaetz said:

“Undeniably, part of the strategy is that with one hand, the Biden regime is doing everything they can to suppress access to ammunition for regular Americans, while with the other hand, they are scooping up all the ammo that they can possibly find.”

In support of the propose bill, Duncan tweeted:

“Why is Biden trying to weaponize the IRS?”

Rep. Gosar issued a similar statement saying that the bill was necessary in order to disarm “this band of highwaymen and stop them from taking our money under the threat of violence.”

Several reports have allegedly confirmed that the IRS has become increasingly militarized in recent years.

In 2018, a Government Accountability Office (GAO) report revealed that there were over 2,100 law enforcement officers working for the IRS’s Criminal Investigation Division, armed with over 4,400 weapons and over 5 million rounds of ammunition.

According to the watchdog group,, in 2020, the IRS had spent over $21.3 million on firearms, ammo, and military-grade equipment between 2006 and 2019, with the gun stockpile reaching over 4,500.

Reportedly, the Criminal Investigation Division investigates “potential criminal violations of the Internal Revenue Code and related financial crimes in a manner that fosters confidence in the tax system and compliance with the law.” The IRS states:

“The American system of taxation is based on the premise that all income is taxable (which includes illegally earned income).

In many instances, proving that a taxpayer willfully attempted to hide income from the Federal Government is an integral part of proving other criminal activity including fraud, money laundering, or Bank Secrecy Act violations.

Criminal investigation continues to fulfill the important role of helping to ensure the integrity and fairness of our nations’ tax system.”

Federal government poised to halt production of certain ammunition for public purchase from major manufacturer

June 21st, 2022

INDEPENDENCE, MO – According to The Truth About Guns, a source close to the matter has stated that the Biden administration is making it harder for Americans to obtain .223 and 5.56mm ammunition for their AR-15s.

The Lake City plant, owned by the US Army and operated by Winchester, produces approximately 1/3 of all .223/5.56 produced and sold in the US.

The source told the outlet that the military has informed the plant that they may no longer sell their overages to the public.

According to the National Rifle Association, the plant produced “well over a billion rounds” annually.

“Ammunition in excess of the government’s requirements has long been made available to the private commercial market. Lake City’s output, according to some estimates, accounts for one-third of the 5.56 caliber ammunition available to U.S. consumers,” the NRA stated. “Needless to say, this attack on America’s ammunition supply is just the most recent in a long line of anti-freedom attacks by the Biden Administration.”

Prior to this push, any M855 and SS109 manufactured at the facility that was above and beyond military the US military’s needs was free to be sold to private consumers.

TTAG’s Dan Zimmerman said it succinctly:

“The motivation here is obvious. The Biden administration is attempting to further spike the price of ammunition, squeezing the owners of America’s favorite rifles…the scary black ones that the president assures us are only good for killing people and taking down Kevlar vest-wearing deer.”

This measure is also being implemented because the President doesn’t believe that the bi-partisan gun “control” package being negotiated right now in the Senate does enough.

“Obviously, it does not do everything that I think is needed, but it reflects important steps in the right direction, and would be the most significant gun safety legislation to pass Congress in decades,” Biden said of the pending bill.

“With bipartisan support, there are no excuses for delay, and no reason why it should not quickly move through the Senate and the House. Each day that passes, more children are killed in this country: the sooner it comes to my desk, the sooner I can sign it, and the sooner we can use these measures to save lives.”

The bill doesn’t prevent people under 21 from purchasing rifle like the AR-15. It merely prolongs the process so that governmental bodies can review juvenile and mental health records.

It also seeks to implement incentives for states that create red flag laws, allowing courts to remove weapons for anyone they deem to be a threat to themselves or others, with no due process. The individuals that lose their firearms to red flag states must prove they are not a threat rather than the state proving that they are.

Meanwhile, in DC, some members of Congress are publicly commenting on the ludicrous attempt by the administration to infringe on the 2nd Amendment as it pertains to AR-15s, as well as the other impacts this maneuver will carry.

Missouri Congressman Sam Graves, pointing to the roughly 500 people who will be laid off if they do in fact stop selling the additional ammunition, said:

“This is the second time President Biden has tried to force devastating layoffs at the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant in the last two years,” said Graves.

“This underhanded attack on the highly skilled union workers of Lake City is disgraceful, it threatens to severely degrade our ability to produce ammunition for our military, and it undermines the right of law-abiding Americans to fully exercise their Second Amendment rights. This has to stop.”

Joining her fellow Missourian, Congresswoman Vicky Hartzler had this to say.

“This is a backdoor attempt by President Biden to bypass Congress and ban legal and highly popular commercial ammunition used by law-abiding Americans across the country.

The Biden administration has made their priorities clear: dismantle the Second Amendment, compromise military readiness, and push inflation to new heights. It’s time for the Biden Administration to stop its attack on our Constitutional right to keep and bear arms.”

Their comments came on the heels of a letter they penned to the President with 48 of the Republican House colleagues.

It is ironic that the President, and most people on the left, believe that the AR-15 and its vaunted .223/5.56 rounds are the evilest combination on the planet.

It is obvious that they are completely unaware that there are approximately 70 rifle calibers larger, more powerful and leave the weapon with greater energy than the AR-15 platform.  But, once again, Biden and his gun-grabbing agenda show that it isn’t really about common sense, it is about control.

Days after Uvalde elementary school mass shooting, firearm and ammunition stocks sharply increase

TEXAS- According to reports, in the wake of the horrific mass shooting at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas, shares of a number of firearm and ammunition manufacturers have sharply increased.

Smith & Wesson Brands stock rose 8.4 percent in the two days following the mass shooting incident, which left 19 children and two teachers dead.

In addition to that, shares of Sturm, Ruger & Co., the largest gun manufacturer in the United States by market cap, jumped nearly 5.7 percent. Ammunition maker Olin saw its shares grow 3.8 percent and Ammo Inc. stock surged more than 12 percent.

According to the New York Post, stock prices similarly rose in 2019 after mass shootings in Dayton, Ohio, and El Paso, Texas, which led then President Donald Trump to back stricter background check laws.

The upward turn in gun stocks this time suggests that investors expect sales to rise as demands for gun control measures such as enhanced background checks gain momentum on Capitol Hill.

There was also a rise in gun stock prices of gunmakers in 2016 when Smith & Wesson jumped 20 percent after 49 people were killed at an Orlando nightclub.

Shares of gun makers also reportedly rose ahead of the 2020 presidential campaign when then-Democrat candidate Joe Biden was shown to be leading in the polls amid the prospect of stricter gun regulation.

According to a report from the Washington Examiner, Brian Marks, executive director of the University of New Haven’s Entrepreneurship and Innovation Program, said:

“The typical hypothesis is that this is an exogenous shock, unanticipated, and as a result of a mass shooting, the reaction is there is an expectation that legislative steps will be undertaken to potentially restrict ammunition, access to guns.”

Following the Uvlade school shooting, President Biden explicitly called for stricter gun laws, as he has in the wake of past mass shooting in Buffalo, New York and Boulder, Colorado, which have all taken place during his presidency. On the night of May 24th, Biden said in a speech:

“The gun manufacturers have spent two decades aggressively marketing assault weapons which make them the most and largest profit. For God’s sake, we have to have the courage to stand up to the industry.”

He added:

“Here’s what else I know: most Americans support commonsense laws – commonsense gun laws.”

The Uvalde shooting was the third-worst school shooting in U.S. history, following the 2007 Virginia Tech shooting and the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting.

In the wake of the Uvalde shooting, Democrats have broadly called for new legislation that they believe will help curb mass shootings and President Biden has implored Congress to try to pass bipartisan legislation.

Meanwhile, the student-led gun control advocacy group, March for Our Lives, is planning nationwide protests across various parts of the U.S. and will allegedly be meeting with lawmakers at Capitol Hill from June 7-10 to discuss a push for universal background checks on gun purchasers.

On Thursday, May 26th, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said that the Senate will vote on “gun safety legislation” after members return to Washington from Memorial Day recess. He said in a statement:

“We are under no illusions that this will be easy.”

Salvador Ramos, 18, allegedly shot his grandmother on May 24th before driving to Robb Elementary School in Uvalde and opening fire on the campus, killing 19 children and two adults.

According to authorities, Ramos legally purchased the two semi-automatic rifles he used in the massacre from a local outdoor and hunting store. He also purchased 375 rounds of ammunition. He was fatally shot by police who responded to the elementary school.
