By the time she started grade school
Plans were already made,
For a great career as a doctor
Or a lawyer, highly paid.
Before her birth they started to save
A dollar here and there,
A chunk of their paychecks also
Her parents were quite a pair.
They wanted the best for their daughter
They dreamed of her success,
They didn’t want her to struggle
Not to live her life in distress.
They saved every penny they could
They stuck it all away,
Building an account sufficient
Preparing for that special day.
That day had finally come
Her dreams would now come true,
She chose to follow her parents
Who both proudly wore the blue.
