Grieving mother of fentanyl victim slams Mayorkas, blames daughter's death on him, Biden administration

WASHINGTON, DC - On the same day impeachment articles against Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas were delivered to the Senat from the House, an Arizona mother who lost her daughter to fentanyl told Fox & Friends First that she laid the blame for that death on Mayorkas and the Biden administration. 

“[Mayorkas] gets paid $200,000 tax dollars a year to kill our children, and one of those children was mine,” Josephine Dunn told hosts Todd Piro and Carley Shimkus. 

“My child did not overdose…my child was poisoned by one-half of one Percocet tablet that was counterfeit. It was made in Mexico with products from China that poisoned my daughter. She did not overdose…she was murdered by products made in Mexico, brought into this country, that was welcomed in by Mayorkas and this administration,” Dunn said of her daughter, Ashley, 26. 

Ashley’s death is only one of the thousands of fentanyl deaths, laid mainly at the feet of Mayorkas and the Biden administration, which have failed to close the southern border and, in fact, have gone out of their way to encourage illegal entry into the United States. 

The pure madness of this policy was laid bare in February when 22-year-old nursing student Laken Riley was raped and murdered as she was jogging in a park in broad daylight at the University of Georgia campus in Athens, Georgia. 

“He [Mayorkas] insists on allowing that border to be open. He has not completed his job as the head of Homeland Security. He was installed on February 2, 2021, and fentanyl is pouring across our border,” the grieving mother said. 

“If he had done his job, fentanyl would not have crossed into this country as it has over these last three years in his position.” 

In a House Homeland Security subcommittee hearing titled “Voices for the Victims: The Heartbreaking Reality of the Mayorkas Border Crisis,” Dunn told lawmakers of the horrors of watching her daughter in the hospital on breathing tubes, starting at the 2:12 mark. 

“Every time I close my eyes, I see all of the tubes. When it’s quiet, I hear all the machines that were keeping her alive. In my humble opinion, Mr. Mayorkas’ border policy is partially responsible for my daughter’s death,” she testified at the hearing. 

The testimony became acrimonious when insane leftist Democrat Rep. Dan Goldman (D-NY) insinuated she was only there due to being “used” by Republican committee members. Goldman also spewed Biden administration talking points, showing zero empathy toward a taxpayer who lost her daughter due to the feckless border policies (or lack thereof) of the Biden administration. 

Goldman suggested that had there been “more law enforcement officers at the border,” perhaps that would have stopped the fentanyl from coming in, insinuating that had Republicans not voted against the ridiculous border bill negotiated in the Senate, the flow of fentanyl could be mitigated. 

“I disagree with that because border patrol is now being used to make sandwiches and screen people and let them into our country, so I disagree with you,” Dunn shot back. 

Goldman then made another snarky remark (again to a grieving mother), to which Dunn replied:

“I would like the border patrol to be able to do the job that they were hired to do. Every border patrol officer that I have spoken to has told me that their hands are tied by this administration and Mr. Mayorkas. I’ve been to the border, sir. Have you? Have you? 

Again, Goldman snarked, “I’m asking the questions.” 

The DEA reported that fentanyl overdoses are the leading cause of death of Americans between the ages of 18-45.
