GOP groups ask House to obtain Biden’s banking records to address one of the ‘boldest falsehoods ever told’

WASHINGTON, D.C. – A collective of GOP groups has sent a formal request to the Chairman of the Ways and Means Committee requesting the bank records of the Biden family, including President-elect Joe Biden.

In a letter addressed to Chairman Richard Neal (D-MA), the collective wrote:

“Your recent comments about the need to investigate criminal wrongdoing by public officials and the importance of transparency to the American government have not gone unnoticed.”

The letter goes on to say wrongdoing allegations and a lack of transparency over the last two months regarding emails found on the personal computer of President-elect Biden’s son Hunter warrant an examination of the bank records.

Hunter Biden, who worked for the Ukrainian company Burisma, has come under fire after one of his laptops was abandoned at a repair shop. The laptop’s hard drive eventually found its way to the FBI and Rudy Giuliani, the former mayor of New York City and President Donald Trump‘s lawyer.

The Washington Post obtained a copy of the hard drive and began publishing a series of exposés revealing emails regarding Hunter Biden’s business dealings, along with some personal photographs.

A series of emails from Vadym Pozharskyi, a board advisor at Burisma, raised concerns that Hunter Biden had used his connections with his then Vice President father for financial gains.

The collective’s letter continued:

“As you also know, the public record has established beyond doubt that Vice President Biden repeatedly took his son on official trips to foreign nations and that soon after such trips his son’s companies we’re receiving millions in contracts from government-related entities in those nations.

“Additionally, it is also public record that when one of those companies came under investigation for corrupt practices by a foreign government, Vice president Biden intervened and forced that government to shut down the corruption probe and fire the prosecutor by threatening to deny the country and its people US foreign aid.”

The laptop story grew in October when new emails released revealed that Joe Biden had discussed family involvement with foreign business deals and that he was exploring a business deal with Chinese energy conglomerate Ye Jianming.

The business dealing claims have been supported by Tony Babulinski, a former business associate of Hunter Biden. Bobulinski claimed that Joe Biden’s brother, Jim, and Hunter Biden introduced him to the former vice president. He said during what he described as an approximately hour-long meeting, he and Joe Biden discussed the Biden family’s business plans with the Chinese, claiming that Biden was “plainly familiar, at least at a high level” with those plans.

Bobulinski told reporters, “It was made clear” that “Joe Biden’s involvement was not to be mentioned in writing, but only face to face.”

Bobulinski told Fox News host Tucker Carlson during an interview:

“On May 13, 2017, I received an email concerning the allocation of equity, which says 10% held by ‘H,’ for ‘the big guy.’ In that email, there’s no question that ‘H’ stands for Hunter, ‘big guy’ for his father, Joe Biden.”

The letter by the collective to the House Ways and Means Committee said the suspected activities between Hunter Biden and his father regarding foreign business dealings raise “graver questions” that need to be answered:

“Disclosure of the emails from Hunter Biden’s computer shows him speaking openly about paying out money to the rest of the family, including his father, who was apparently referred to — and these are just two examples— as ‘the big guy’ or someone entitled to his ten percent.”

President-elect Biden has denied any allegations of wrong-doing, claiming he never discussed such business ventures with Hunter Biden. However, the emails and testimony from Bobulinski and other business associates refute the denial.

The collective wrote:

“Evidence from the computer emails as well as testimony from one of his son’s former business colleagues who attended meetings with Vice President Biden show his emphatic denial is now one of the boldest falsehoods ever told an American public life.”

The Democrat-controlled House Ways and Means Committee has been pursuing President Trump’s financial records for most of his term. The conservative collective said in the letter that they just want to pursue the same demand for transparency with Joe Biden’s records.

The collective wrote:

“We hope that in view of your strong demand for transparency and disclosure, you will endorse our suggestion that your committee ask for Vice President Biden’s bank records and those of the rest of his family over the period of his vice presidency and immediately thereafter.

“In this way, he can put to rest any allegations including concerns about how he acquired his extensive personal wealth and his large estate.”

The collective ended the letter stating that, although the liberal mainstream media has tried to “protect” Joe Biden during the campaign, the protection will not be able to continue:

“But that won’t last now – the public is going to want to know the truth.  This is your chance to serve the cause of integrity and transparency in public office as you’ve talked so much about the past few years.

“The American people have a right to this information and we are hopeful that you and the Vice President will see the advantage of the full disclosure suggested by our proposal before demands for a special counsel become deafening.”

Signatures of the letter included Frontiers of Freedom President George Landrith, Americans for Limited Government President Richard Manning, Institute for Liberty President Andrew Langer, Less Government President Seton Motley, Project 21 Co-Chairman Horace Cooper, 60 Plus President Saul Anuzis, and American Business Defense Council President Dick Patten.
