TALLAHASSEE, FL – After a scandalous booze-filled night where suspected methamphetamine and an alleged male prostitute were in attendance, former Florida gubernatorial candidate Andrew Gillum stated that he’ll be entering rehab.

The announcement came on March 15th after the former candidate was getting criticism coming from all directions regarding his state of inebriation in a Miami hotel room on March 12th.
In the statement provided, Gillum noted that he’s going to be withdrawing from “all public facing roles,” citing the incident he was involved with as “a wake-up call.”

He attributed the state of intoxication to that of a developed addiction to alcohol after losing the race for governor back in 2018:
“Since my race for governor ended, I fell into a depression that has led to alcohol abuse.”
Gillum also asked that the privacy of his family be respected in this time, while offering an apology for getting caught up in the hotel soiree:
“I want to apologize to my family, friends and the people of Florida who have supported me and put their faith in me over the years.”
The released statement also noted that Gillum’s father also struggled with alcohol addiction. While the amount of time he intends to spend in treatment wasn’t detailed, his goal is to come back renewed and sober:
“I witnessed my father suffer from alcoholism and I know the damaging effects it can have when untreated. I also know that alcoholism is often a symptom of deeper struggles.
I am committed to doing the personal work to heal fully and show up in the world as a more complete person.”

Stepping away from the limelight and seeking help isn’t a bad move for Gillum, especially when you hear about what went down inside that hotel.
Democrat Andrew Gillum, was among two others in a hotel room on the evening of March 12th when an individual was treated for an alleged drug overdose. Apparently, the involved had too much of the party favors present.
Police say they found some bags of meth, and the former candidate was unable to communicate with officers.
Gillum, who lost the 2018 gubernatorial election to Republican Ron DeSantis, was living it up with some friends inside of a Miami Beach hotel room.
Gillum was raising the roof with two other people inside the hotel, and police happened to find three bags of suspected crystal meth.
Three bags. Three people. Just a coincidence, right?
If Andrew Gillum had been elected Governor, Florida would be a complete meth.

Gillum did confirm that he was drinking that evening inside the hotel room, but swears he didn’t have any meth:
“I was in Miami last night for a wedding celebration when first responders were called to assist one of my friends.
While I had too much to drink, I want to be clear that I have never used methamphetamines. I apologize to the people of Florida for the distraction this has caused our movement.”
Man, that had to be one heck of a wedding after party.

According to the police report, officers arrived at the Mondrian South Beach hotel after fire-rescue personnel were tending to a man for a possible drug overdose.
One of the men present in the hotel room with Gillum stated he arrived at the room at about 11:00 p.m. on March 12th. When he walked in, he noticed that both Gillum and the man being treated were “under the influence of an unknown substance” and noted that he saw “Mr. Gillum inside the bathroom vomiting.”
Oh, and it turns out that the man being treated for the overdose was a man by the name of Travis Dyson.
Apparently, Dyson is quite the popular lad in Miami as a well-known gay-male escort. I wonder if Gillum’s wife knows that he parties with that kind of crowd.

Well, that’s not exactly a good look for someone who had hopes and dreams of being governor of Florida.
When officers tried to speak with Gillum, the report stated:
“Mr. Gillum was unable to communicate with officers due to his inebriated state.”

So, let’s assume that Gillum was only drinking that night.
He’s still 40-years-old, married with kids, and “allegedly” hanging out with male prostitutes.
Is drinking too much a crime? No, it isn’t. But who is still drinking until they vomit when they’re 40-years-old while vying to be an elected official?
Who in their right mind, as a married man, thinks that hotel parties with male hookers is a good idea?
The police report also noted that the fire-rescue went back to see Gillum on a welfare check later that night just to make sure his vitals were normal.
Miami Beach Police Department spokesman Ernesto Rodriguez stated that the incident isn’t being looked into as a criminal matter.

Apparently, Gillum has been involved with some questionable matters in the past as well.
One instance that haunted him during the race to become the governor was his time as being the mayor of Tallahassee, Florida.
While the FBI was looking into potentially corrupt politicians, this guy actually accepted a ticket to the Broadway musical “Hamilton” from an undercover FBI agent. This resulted in a $5,000 fine after the state Ethics Commission stated he violated civil law by accepting a gift from a lobbyist.
I’m not going to say anything negative about democrat Andrew Gillum,
who was found inebriated in a hotel room —
where meth was recovered —
because of a drug overdose.
Instead, I just want to say thank you to everyone who elected a Republican FL Gov. & Sen. in 2018.

Since his loss in 2018 to become the governor, Gillum was trying to gain more traction politically in hopes of rising up to reach that office one day. This also included the occasional appearance on CNN to boost that liberal clout.
Broward County commissioner Steve Geller, who also used to be the Democratic leader in the Florida Senate, thinks this hooker & meth fiasco isn’t the end of Gillum’s political career:
“I don’t know what Andrew Gillum’s next race will be or when. He has to run for something for it to be an issue. I don’t think he’s done. He’s a good speaker and a lot of people like him. And I think he’ll run for something. I don’t think it’s going to be right away.”
I would say he’d have to be on drugs to continue his political career, but he might have already beat me to the punch.
