PORTLAND, OR – As the city of Portland, Oregon devolved into anarchy for the 50th straight night, politicians in the city are trying to push the narrative that the nightly riots in the city being organized by Black Lives matter and Antifa are peaceful.
According to The Floridian, one Florida congressman is even saying that the riots are being infiltrated by “secret police” who are, according to him taking away innocent protesters whom he says are exercising their “constitutional rights.”
It isn’t known why Rep. Ted Deutch (D-FL) is inserting himself into Oregon politics, however he once claimed that only ‘some in the group (Antifa)” were calling for anarchy.
In a tweet, Deutch cited a story from the Washington Post which says in explicit terms that the so-called “secret police” he is referring to are not actually so secret.
“What’s happening in Portland is alarming. Americans exercising their constitutional rights shouldn’t have to live in fear of being being (sic) hauled away by unidentified officers. Are these individuals members of federal law enforcement? We need answers from the Admin NOW.” Wow, he used capital letters; he must have been ANGRY!

However, a subsequent tweet by Deutch, in response to one by Acting Secretary of Homeland Security Chad Wolf indicated that the officers were clearly identifiable. He then went on to refer to Breonna Taylor, a completely different situation than Wolf addressed on his tweet as you can see.
.@DHS_Wolf turn around and read that quote on the wall behind you.
Then, search "Breonna Taylor" on the internet.
We are failing to deliver on that first duty & your secret police only deepen the injustice. https://t.co/ZTzPhnTTXD

The Post story cited by Deutch noted that U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) had been responsible for what Deutch referred to as “secret agents,” but noted that the agents had “identified themselves and were wearing CBP insignia” during an encounter involving someone suspected of assaulting police officers.
“The CBP agents identified themselves and were wearing CBP insignia during the encounter,” CBP said in its statement. “The names of the agents were not displayed due to recent doxing incidents against law enforcement personnel who serve and protect our country.”
“When the agents approached him,” CBP said, “a large and violent mob moved towards their location. For everyone’s safety, CBP agents quickly moved the suspect to a safer location for further questioning.”
However, investigative reporter Andy Ngo, who covers Antifa and protests in the Portland area disputes the claims made by Deutch and the media that the protests are non-violent, referring to such descriptions as a farce.
Ngo posted a video of “Antifa & BLM” attacking “the front of the boarded-up federal courthouse.” In an appearance on Fox News, Ngo called the reported “abducting” of people by police a lie.
The 50th day of violent protests in Portland.

Of course, Democrats, who always take the side of criminals and rioters over police and law enforcement officials tried to blame Wolf and President Trump for provoking violence.
“A peaceful protester in Portland was shot in the head by one of Donald Trump’s secret police,” Sen. Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) said on Thursday in a tweet, also calling out Wolf.
“Now Trump and Chad Wolf are weaponizing the DHS as their own occupying army to provoke violence on the streets of my hometown because they think it plays well with right-wing media.”

Unfortunately, with the exception of only a few outlets, the mainstream, left-wing media is ignoring the violence that is overtaking cities such as Portland.
Yet another Democrat, Texas congresswoman Veronica Escobar blamed Wolf for inciting riots and demanded his resignation.
Extraordinary vanity and arrogance.
It's one thing to "protect" federal buildings, quite another to for @DHSgov to behave like a secret police force in the shocking way we have seen on video.
"Acting" @DHS_Wolf needs to resign.
The megalomania of this poseur needs to end. https://t.co/tmSK85dkTe

“Each night, lawless anarchists destroy and desecrate property, including the federal courthouse, and attack the brave law enforcement officers protecting it,” Wolfe wrote.
“Instead of addressing violent criminals in their communities, local and state leaders are instead focusing on placing blame on law enforcement and requesting fewer officers in their community. This failed response has only emboldened the violent mob as it escalates violence day after day,” the statement said.
President Trump directed federal officers to Portland due to the targeting of federal property. That seems to have escalated tensions which were already high, and last week, a U.S. Marshal fired a less-lethal round at a protester, striking them in the head and critically injuring the protester.
Feckless Mayor Ted Wheeler and other Portland officials have criticized the presence of the federal law enforcement officials, saying that they didn’t ask for the help and want them to leave.

“A number of people have asked if I know DHS leadership is in town, and if I’m going to meet with them. We’re aware that they’re here. We wish they weren’t We haven’t been invited to meet with them, and if we were, we would decline,” Wheeler said Thursday.
Another “leader” in the state, Gov. Kate Brown said that Wolf’s visit was “political theater from President Trump” and continued that he “is looking for a confrontation in Oregon in the hopes of winning political points in Ohio or Iowa.”
Apparently, so-called leaders such as Brown and Wheeler would rather see their city burn to the ground and let the inmates run the asylum than showing some leadership and putting an end to the insurrection in their city. Portland was a train wreck before Trump sent federal assistance there.
Over the past nearly two months, rioters have set fires, launched fireworks, and sprayed graffiti on public buildings, with Portland more closely resembling war-torn Somalia than what used to be a beautiful American city. In response to the violence and mayhem, both federal and local law enforcement officials have responded with tear gas and made dozens of arrests.
Unbelievably, a temporary federal court order had banned local police from using tear gas unless a riot was declared, due to the fact Portland officers had fired it multiple times in order to disperse crowds. However federal officials have twice used tear gas since they arrived Fourth of July weekend, which led to concerns they were used to circumvent the court order.
Even before Wolf arrived, Portland police made nine arrests while clearing protesters from two parks adjacent to the courthouse. It is not known why the parks were being cleared.
Last week, high-ranking officials within the Portland Police Department told state legislators that they have been trying to de-escalate violence at the nightly riots downtown, however there is a small group of anarchists that intentionally attempt to injure officers, and that requires them to use gas and other munitions that have a residual effect on the rest of the crowds.
Deputy Police Chief Chris Davis testified on Friday that many of the “protesters” are known to police, however the “risks are usually too high to forge into the crowd and immediately arrest people they see engaged in criminal activity.”
“It’s very challenging to go into a large, dynamic crowd and pluck one person out of there without creating an even bigger problem for ourselves,” Davis said.
Davis and Captain Craig Dobson told the legislature that there was a small group of troublemakers that gather every night and some of these have “a very criminal element.” They said that officers are placed at serious risk of dying from the impact of items hurled at them by rioters, such as rocks, water bottles and fireworks. Davis noted the leaders of the group “are motivated by an anarchistic ideology.”
Portland police have not deployed tear gas since the end of June, however federal officers deployed it as recently as this past Friday.
Davis noted that while city and federal officers have no authority over each other, the Portland Police Department tries “to coordinate as much as we can with federal authorities.”
Dobson noted that some of the fireworks thrown at the officers are more akin to IED’s used against deployed soldiers in Iraq, while noting that several officers have reported permanent or temporary hearing loss.
“The water bottles aren’t just filled with water, often those water bottles are filled with urine or feces or some other kind of putrid type substance that they’re throwing at us,” Dobson continued. “When we talk about fireworks, they’re not sparklers. These are fireworks that if they hit us and land correctly, they will kill us.”
On Friday, another clueless politician, Commissioner Jo Ann Hardesty released a statement in which she demanded the mayor prevent local police from working with federal officers to use force against protesters, or put her in charge of the police.
Hardesty, who evidently hasn’t seen the city degenerating into a third-world crap hole implied there was a peaceful downtown vigil (as opposed apparently to the last 49 nights before of mayhem) and that federal agents launched an “unprovoked brutal attack” on attendees in the area.
Hardesty continued, playing into the “this is all about Trump” narrative. “We need you to be better,” she said of Wheeler. “We need you to stop denying the violence being perpetuated by our own police force and make it clear and unambiguous.: Portland police are directed from the top to never collaborate with (President Donald Trump’s) goon squad, to take off their riot gear, and to stop contributing to the violence that was occurring before the feds arrived and still continues night after night.”
Let’s read that again. She wants police to “take off their riot gear” while acknowledging the violence that was occurring even before federal officers arrived.
This is what happens when you take Trump Derangement Syndrome and take it to its worst possible conclusion. We are curious what would happen if the Portland police said “enough” and caught some of that blue flu. Then Hardesty and Wheeler wouldn’t have a city left to worry about.
Or maybe Hardesty and Wheeler should go out there and try to absorb some of those “special” water bottles being hurled at police. Maybe then they would change their tune.
