Bombshell: FBI has been investigating Hunter Biden’s laptop since December

Share:

WASHINGTON, DC – The public is just now learning about the existence of the alleged Hunter Biden laptop; however, former Fox News reporter Adam Housley suggests that the investigation by the FBI has been ongoing since December of 2019.

On October 20, Housley announced that he had received information from numerous FBI sources that the investigation had been ongoing. He tweeted:

“Breaking: Multiple FBI sources…The FBI investigation into the laptop has been ongoing since December of 2019…there’s a lot going on behind the scenes. A lot.  There is a massive amount of info.

“From multiple agents: “They knew right away it wasn’t a Russia operation. It went right to the top of the FBI because a Biden name was attached. That’s normal with any well known name. The question that needs asking, why wasn’t any info about Russia/Ukraine shared with Congress?”

How long the FBI has had the laptop and the investigation into the legitimacy around it is concerning in as much that if the contents are actually Hunter Biden’s, and the emails are authentic, those could have and should have been admissible during President Trump’s impeachment proceedings.

Republican Senator Ron Johnson also is concerned about the length of time that the FBI has had custody of the laptop in question as well as the alleged emails from Hunter Biden. The request was made after the New York Post published the original story of the emails and allegedly current Democratic Presidential Nominee Joe Biden’s knowledge of Hunter’s Burisma dealings.

In his letter, Johnson informed FBI Director Christopher Wray that a whistleblower had contacted his committee on September 24th informing them that the FBI had possession of the laptop.  Johnson wanted the FBI to confirm the legitimacy of the laptop and Hunter’s alleged emails. However, as is normal protocol, the FBI will not confirm nor deny any of the information. Johnson said:

“Why did they sit on it? Are they covering up just because Hunter Biden might be engaged in things that also maybe should have been investigated and possibly prosecuted?

“Do we have two systems of justice: one for Democrats and one for Republicans? One for the well-connected versus on for the rest of Americans?”

Those are fantastic questions that need to be asked, however, with caution. The FBI always has long standing practice of never confirming nor denying any criminal investigations, regardless of who the subject person is of those investigations.

Now, if the FBI had the laptop since December of 2019, their lack of acknowledging it may be because they have not been able to prove that the emails truly came from Hunter Biden.  Investigations like these take time, and if the emails truly do belong to Hunter Biden, the ramifications of them would be earth shattering.

On the other hand, federal authorities have long been under scrutiny by Republicans of being one sided in their investigations. They have noted, in the Hillary Clinton email hard drive scandal, that if any average citizen would have done what she did they would have already been prosecuted and in federal prison.

Regardless if the FBI is intentionally sitting on the information or not, the ramifications, if the Hunter Biden emails are legitimate, would lead credence to President Trump’s and other Republican leaders claims that Joe Biden received money from overseas companies while the sitting Vice President of the United States.  The exact allegation is that Joe Biden offered political favors to the highest bidder. Johnson voiced his concerns:

“The Biden campaign, all they’ve done to refute or deny any of this is to say that the meeting one of these emails revealed that Vice President Biden had with the No. 3 in control of Burisma never showed up on his official calendar.

“There’s all kinds of meeting that didn’t show up on his official calendar. This wouldn’t surprise me if this one didn’t.

“I have a responsibility to validate and verify the contents of any information produced to my committee.  The committee must know if it receives information that could be fraudulent or not accurate.”

DIG DEEPER

October 20, 2020

WASHINGTON, DC – On Tuesday, October 20th, President Donald Trump called on Attorney General William Barr, urging him to “act fast” and investigate Hunter Biden, son of Democrat presidential nominee Joe Biden.

This, after new emails uncovered the family’s pursuit of lucrative deals in foreign countries.

Trump said in a recent interview on Fox and Friends:

“We have got to get the attorney general to act. He’s got to act and he’s got to act fast. He’s gotta appoint somebody.”

According to a reports, Trump was reacting to a letter that was recently sent from House Republicans urging Barr to appoint a special counsel to investigate the Biden family.

The letter was signed by 11 Republicans and read:

“These alleged violations raise serious questions about former Vice President Joe Biden’s reported participation with his son’s business dealings, specifically whether the former vice president (1) received foreign monies during his tenure in the Obama administration and (2) if former Vice President Biden allowed his son to peddle access to his father with foreign business entities.”

Trump wants Barr to appoint a special prosecutor to investigate the details that were released from the New York Post.

Trump said:

“This is major corruption and this has to be known about before the election.”

Trump’s recent comments puts additional pressure on Barr, who faces a difficult choice on whether to launch a massive investigation just two weeks before Election Day. One of the many emails published by the New York Post showed Hunter Biden outlining a “provisional agreement” with a Chinese energy company.

Allegedly, the proposal cites 10 percent of the equity held for “the big guy,” identified as Biden, a source told Fox News. Trump previously accused Biden of not only knowing about Hunter Biden’s shady dealings, but that he was getting rewarded financially.

Trump said:

“Joe is far more corrupt than Hunter because Joe knew everything. Joe’s getting a piece of everything.”

The letter from House Republicans was written after the New York Post published emails suggesting that Hunter Biden introduced his father to a top executive at Ukrainian natural gas firm Burisma Holdings in 2015, one year before the then-vice president allegedly pressured the country’s government to fire a prosecutor who had launched an investigation into the company.

According to the Biden campaign, Joe had never met with that executive and has allegedly pushed back on the New York Post reporting.

Biden campaign spokesman Andrew Bates said in a statement:

“Investigations by the press, during impeachment, and even by two Republican-led Senate committees whose work was decried as ‘not legitimate’ and political by a GOP colleague have all reached the same conclusion: that Joe Biden carried out official U.S. policy toward Ukraine and engaged in no wrongdoing.”

According to reports, the New York Post has not allowed other outlets to see material taken from the laptop allegedly owned by Hunter Biden, however Democrats in Congress and other media reports have claimed that the FBI is investigating the Post stories as the fruits of a Russian disinformation campaign.

During a recent appearance on Fox Business, John Ratcliffe, a former Republican congressman installed by Trump as director of national intelligence insisted that there is no indication that the Post stories arose from Russian disinformation efforts.

He said:

“Let me be clear, the intelligence community doesn’t believe that because there is no intelligence that supports that and we have shared no intelligences with Adam Schiff or any member of Congress.”

The letter from House Republicans said in part:

“We request that the Department of Justice immediately appoint an independent, unbiased special counsel to investigate the issues that we have raise as well as any corresponding legal or ethical issues that might be uncovered from the former vice president’s 47 years in public office.”
