Country Music Legend Tim McGraw and Duracell have collaborated to highlight first responders across the country.  Duracell has committed to donating over one million batteries to emergency personnel across North America, in celebration of the launch of its new Quantum batteries.

The video series, called “Quantum Heroes”, features the heroic efforts of first responders in crisis situations. They can be viewed on Duracell’s web site, Facebook, Twitter, and You Tube.

McGraw is the perfect spokesperson for the project. He enthusiastically seized the opportunity when he was asked to be part of the project. He is an ardent supporter of first responders, particularly since Hurricane Katrina devastated his home state of Louisiana.

“This is the perfect opportunity to showcase what first responders do for us every day,” McGraw said.  “They are the first line of defense in any emergency. These people are caring, dedicated, and the best at what they do. They put their lives on the line for us daily.  These are the people we rely on every day: firefighters, police, and paramedics.  Personally, I think we should support this project because it concerns all of us….we never know when we will be put into an emergency situation. I don’t know where we would be without these every day heroes, especially the volunteers. It takes a rare kind of person to do that. ”

According to Duracell, focusing on First Responders illustrates the power of Duracell batteries.  Their new product, “Quantum”, is described as “the world’s most advanced alkaline battery, with a longer life and capacity that exceeds the “copper top” variety. Quantum is designed with a “high density core that compresses more power into a batter of the same size”.

The batteries work equally well for low drain and high drain devices, perfect for first responders’ equipment.  The pilot video featured a situation in which New York firefighters’ truck broke down during Hurricane Sandy. This illustrates the need for a reliable product such as Quantum.
