Disney to work with Chinese entities accused of human rights abuses – but threatened to not film in Georgia.

Share:

ORLANDO, FL – Remember that time that Disney said it would be very difficult to justify filming in Georgia if the state passed it “heartbeat” bill?

In early 2019, Disney’s then chief executive, Bob Iger, said it would be “very difficult” for the company to continue filming in Georgia if the state’s highly restrictive abortion law is carried out.

“I rather doubt we will” continue filming in the state, Iger said. “I think many people who work for us will not want to work there, and we will have to heed their wishes in that regard.”

But now, the media giant says that it is only doing what it has to do to continue filming in China, despite the region they are filming in is known for concentration camps, ethnic cleansing and other human rights atrocities.

As they have been filming the latest live action version of one of their cartoon classics, Mulan, Disney says they “had no choice but to cooperate with groups accused of human rights abuses — even those accused of ethnic cleansing of the country’s Uyghur population — in order to film specific scenes,” according to the Daily Wire.

Read that again.

Disney had “no choice but to cooperate” with groups accused of human rights abuses. Why? Because the only way to maintain the films authenticity was to film in China.

The country has a law that requires foreign production companies to contract out to local production companies who handle all licensing.

So, to make the movie realistic, the hell with human rights, huh Disney?

But, according to Iger, many Disney employees won’t want to work in Georgia, because they passed the Living Infants Fairness Equality (LIFE) Act in May of 2019.

The Georgia law, which is one of the strictest abortion laws in the nation, outlaws abortions after a fetal heartbeat is detected. Fetal heartbeats can be detected by vaginal ultrasounds as early as 6 weeks. So, in many instances 42 to 49 days into a pregnancy, you can no longer perform an abortion in Georgia.

For many pro-life Americans, they applauded this law as a huge win in the fight to end abortions. But they also believe that the battle is not over until someone addresses the other 42 to 49 days.

Disney, it appears, is content with pumping money into a system that openly flaunts the ethnic cleansing taking place in the Xinjiang region of Chine, all the while telling Georgians that you can’t have Disney bring money into your communities because you won’t let women get away with murder, literally.

Ironically, the Disney Corporation may not be willing to pay to work in the Peach state, they have no problem making money off the same people whom they disagree with on the right to choose argument. Disney owns and operates at least 5 stores in the Atlanta area alone.

Back to   Xinjiang, China. Even the US State Department weighed in on what is going on there.

But, what should we expect from the Disney? They are after all, the same group that brought us this.

Lest you forget, Colin Kaepernick is the police-bashing, former NFL quarterback who started the kneeling protests in the NFL and hasn’t been on an NFL roster since 2016.

He has attempted to make a comeback to the NFL, but he tried to dictate to the league how he would do so. As such, he hasn’t been added to a roster for the last 3 seasons.

But that has changed. He has signed a contract with…the Walt Disney Corporation.

According to the East Bay Times

“Kaepernick, in an exclusive docu-series, will share what he’s done over the past five years, including his final season on the 49ers in 2016 when he knelt during the national anthem to spark discussion on racial inequality and police misconduct.

‘I am excited to announce this historic partnership with Disney across all of its platforms to elevate Black and Brown directors, creators, storytellers, and producers, and to inspire the youth with compelling and authentic perspectives,’ Kaepernick said in an ESPN-issued statement. ‘I look forward to sharing the docu-series on my life story, in addition to many other culturally impactful projects we are developing.’”

This comes on the heels of another documentary he is working on.

“A week ago, Netflix announced its own six-part documentary, ‘Colin in Black and White,’ that details Kaepernick’s high school days in Turlock and early-age experiences. Dr. Harry Edwards recently said he will nominate Kaepernick for the Nobel Peace Prize.”

His life story is contained in the past 5 years?

The Netflix series title is ironic, as Kaepernick is both black and white. His birth father is black, while his birth mom is white. He was adopted and raised in a white family.

Fortunately, the details of the series were shared publicly. Otherwise, we might have assumed that it would feature all the stellar years he had in the NFL.

We have to wonder what his career QBR over 6 years was a 60.95 and had a winning percentage as a starter of .500, almost a full 13 points behind the career QBR and .274 short of  (.774) for Tom Brady, who many consider the greatest to play the position…ever.

Brady won almost as many play-off games as Kaepernick won in his career. Brady had 636 TDs to his credit, Kaepernick, 85. Granted, Brady has been in the league for almost 20 season and has won 6 Super Bowl titles. So, it might be a little unfair to compare him to Brady.

Comparatively, Kaepernick was better than say, Vince Young, who played roughly the same number of years as the ex-49er. Young had a higher winning percentage, at .608. But he accounted for only 58 TDs.

All that was detailed to show that the reason he is no longer in the league is because he wasn’t that great of a player, with his numbers declining almost every season. So, what else is he known for that would be worthy of not one, but two documentaries, and a nomination for a Nobel Peace Prize?

Nothing. He has literally done nothing but create divisiveness and strife in the NFL.

He has however, while claiming that his protests were only to bring awareness to police brutality, attacked cops, the flag, the military and the US.  While he claims that not to be the case, there is too much evidence to believe otherwise.

Recently, numerous celebrities and athletes have rejected the notion that Kaepernick kneeling was a disrespectful insult to our nation and flag and those who have sacrificed their very lives in support and defense of them.

Yet, the very thing that they claim he is innocent of, he shows it to be true.

But yeah, he loves our country and the military. He means nothing by it, right?

Let’s not forget he is being nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize. And he was deemed to have a hero-status.

Colin Kaepernick, a person who is as notorious as he was famous for being a quarterback in the NFL.

In his early career, he stood out, took over as starter and kept the job after Alex Smith, the starter at the time, went down with an injury and never returned to the starting line up for the San Francisco 49ers.

It seemed like his career would be long-term, until his skills started declining and he was eventually relegated as a backup quarterback.

Shortly after being taken out of the starting lineup, Kaepernick began kneeling during the National Anthem, supposedly as a protest over what he believed was a rampant police brutality problem throughout the United States.

To spite team owners, teammates, and veterans of the armed services requests for him to stand, in order for him to show pride in soldiers that had fallen protecting his right to kneel, Kaepernick chose to kneel for a cause that did not exist.

Speaking only of people who are killed by police each year, a larger number, by far, are white.  According to an article by the Washington Post, 2,478 white people were killed by police, while black people (1,298), Hispanics (904) and other (219) were killed.

Now, the Washington Post tries to paint the picture that the overall number of the population are disproportionate, but no one who actually pays attention can deny that overall, white people were killed by police far more than any other race.

In the Post’s article, one thing is sorely missing: Context.

Throughout their article, it is never explained any of the circumstances which led up to a police officer killing a person.  It is left to the reader to assume that there is somewhat of an overall agenda for all police officers, regardless of race, to kill black people.

However, despite their efforts, the facts are simply the facts, they cannot be ignored.

Police involved shooting deaths that happen often go before a grand jury.  The grand jury looks at all facts, witness statements, and evidence presented before they come to a decision.  Either the grand jury, who is made up of civilians who know nothing of anyone involved, is jaded toward law enforcement every time, or, just maybe, the majority of the time officers get the decision right more often than not when using lethal force.

So, for Kaepernick to say that there is an overall problem with officers, again, regardless of race, indiscriminately beating and killing those of a minority race, the facts simply do not back that line of thought.  If there is any doubt in your mind about this article, don’t take my word for it, look up the facts for yourself.

Kaepernick kneeling has less to do with any belief that there is social injustice, but more to do with the fact that he became less relevant.

Instead of working hard to hone his craft and become a better quarterback, he decided to take the easy route to try to keep his fame, kneel for a cause that does not exist but that the masses will believe.

And to equate him with someone like Pat Tillman, as Brett Favre did, is beyond a travesty.

Favre said:

“It’s not easy for a guy his (Kaepernick’s) age — black or white, Hispanic, whatever — to stop something that you’ve always dreamed of doing, and put it on hold, maybe forever, for something that you believe in.

“I can only think of right off the top of my head, Pat Tillman is another guy who did something similar. And, we regard him as a hero. So, I’d assume that hero status will be stamped with Kaepernick as well.”

Pat Tillman was drafted by the Arizona Cardinals in the 1998 NFL Draft and quickly became a starter.

After the attacks on 9/11, Tillman decided that it was time to defend the United States of America instead of playing in the NFL.  His calling led him to give up a big contract and join the Army.

This decision led to him losing $3.6 million dollars, all for his personal sacrifice in joining the Army to defend the United States.

Tillman was killed by friendly fire while in Afghanistan.

To compare an American Hero like Tillman to Kaepernick is unthinkable.

Tillman gave up everything to defend freedom, to defend the county that he loved.  Kaepernick was a washed up, at best, second string talent at quarterback who never had to fight for anything in this life.

Tillman stood for freedom, Kaepernick knelt as a whiny coward.

While there is much pandering happening in the nation right now, Favre and many others need to be careful who they side with.

This isn’t the first time Law Enforcement Today has reported on Kaepernick and his anti-American stance.

Here’s a report we brought you in January regarding that very topic.

Failed NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick is at it again.

It seems that when it comes to military and police officers in America, he just can’t keep his mouth shut.

Kaepernick began the notorious trend of kneeling during the National Anthem in protest of the so-called issue of minorities being “targeted” by police a few years ago, garnering national attention that wasn’t so stellar… but this week, after increasing tension between the United States and Iran, he’s directly attacking combat veterans who are putting their life on the line to keep people like him living safe back at home.

Kaepernick’s online tirade came in the form of tweets that compared American troops to terrorists and claimed that the United States would stop at nothing to enact violence against “Black and Brown people”.

And that wasn’t the metaphorical line in the sand where he would draw the line…

According to Kaepernick, the American government habitually uses the military to “plunder” the “non white world” and enforce their will against minorities both at home and abroad.

Essentially, his argument is that the United States is racist, through and through… and will stop at nothing to continue their domination.

Kaep needs to get his facts straight. Not only has he been preaching propaganda and turning people against the men and women who hold the Thin Blue Line, but he’s been getting his facts wrong. Though no one seems to be able to get through to him.

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has repeatedly defended the strike, saying that Soleimani was planning an attack against Iraqi and American forces.

But to Kaepernick, who only sees things in terms of race and color, the US launched an attack against another country simply because they aren’t white.

Give us a break.

Kaepernick’s recent attacks against veterans willing to die for their country was met with some serious backlash.

Couldn’t have said it better ourselves. It’s almost laughable that a “celebrity” (we use that term loosely…) can sit back in the comfort of his own luxurious home and attack the very people who allow him to live comfortably and enjoy the benefits of being a free American.

Others said that he was free to leave the country at any time.

Other people reminded the Nike nitwit of who the real enemy is.

Again… it’s a pretty high-and-mighty stance about “imperialism” from someone who works with Nike, who uses sweatshops and child labor to create their products, which they in turn sell for a massive profit.

So… it would seem that Kaepernick isn’t just protesting police brutality… but instead has an agenda to call out our nation’s protectors.

It seems as though a few American citizens need to be reminded about who the real enemy is.

“As a former military intelligence officer on the ground in Afghanistan, I was trained to ask the hard questions before acting. A Commander-in-Chief must do the same.”

Thank you for your input, Pete Buttigieg.  However, your service as a “military Uber driver,” as you put it, being responsible for the safe transport of your immediate commander is slightly different than a Commander-in-Chief’s responsibilities, which is to assure the safety of an entire nation.

Buttigieg made the above statement in response to President Trump ordering an airstrike in Iran, which killed one of their most general military leaders, Qasem Soleimani.  One of those hard questions President Trump had to ask was whether military leaders such as Soleimani posed a threat to the American people.

The answer was simple.  Yes.

Now the congressional left is going insane over the action.  They’re “outraged.”

House Minority Whip Steve Scalise is sick of it.  Earlier this week, he said:

“Any responsible commander-in-chief would have done the same thing, but President Trump’s the one who did it, and I’m glad that the president had the fortitude to say we’re going to put America first. We’re going to protect America and our allies around the world by doing this.”

He continued:

“And you know, if somebody wants to criticize him for it, I think they’re going to have to look at a mirror and say, whose side are you on if you can question something that actually makes America safer?”

Scalise is referring to the left blasting the President for the airstrike all over Twitter, as well as actual news sources, to call out the President.

Normal people realize that Soleimani was extremely dangerous.  He was tied to the deaths of hundreds of Americans.

Texas Senator Ted Cruz said in a tweet:

“According the Obama Department of Defense, Qasem Soleimani was a terrorist directly responsible for the murder of over 500 US service men & women. Why are congressional Dems outraged that he’s finally dead?”

His estimate was conservative, as the Pentagon released a statement saying:

“General Soleimani and his Quds Force were responsible for the deaths of hundreds of American and coalition service members and the wounding of thousands more.

He had orchestrated attacks on coalition bases in Iraq over the last several months — including the attack on December 27th — culminating in the death and wounding of additional American and Iraqi personnel. General Soleimani also approved the attacks on the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad that took place this week.”

In response to Senator Cruz, Minnesota representative Ilhan Omar tweeted back:

“We are outraged the president would assassinate a foreign official, possibly setting off another war without Congressional authorization and has zero plan to deal with the consequences.”

There are so many things wrong with her statement.

First, Soleimani was not just a foreign official.

The Foreign Corrupt Practices Act  definition of a foreign official is, “any officer or employee of a foreign government or any department, agency, or instrumentality thereof, or of a public international organization, or any person acting in an official capacity for or on behalf of any such government or department, agency, or instrumentality, or for or on behalf of any such public international organization.”

General Soleimani was a military leader of The Quds Force, which is designated by the US as a Federal Terrorist Organization.  The force is part of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), a paramilitary group that secretly operates with other known terrorist groups, like Hezbollah of Lebanon, Shiite militias in Iraq, and Shiites in Afghanistan.

The Quds Force is known for “operations external to Iran to advance the Islamic revolution,” according to Dr. Jack Watling, a research fellow at the Royal United Services Institute in the UK.

“Squad” member Omar is also “outraged” that the President did not seek Congress approval first.

Disney to work with Chinese entities accused of human rights abuses - but threatened to not film in Georgia.

Interesting, since the Democrats had no qualms with Former President Obama justifying doing the exact same thing, as he mentioned in a 2013 speech at the National Defense University:

“Under domestic law, and international law,” Obama said, “the United States is at war with al-Qaida, the Taliban, and their associated forces.  We are at war with an organization that right now would kill as many Americans as they could if we did not stop them first.  So this is a just war — a war waged proportionally, in last resort, and in self-defense.”

Article II of the US Constitution designates the president as “Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy,” which grants them the authority to launch certain military actions without congressional authorization.

Further, the Authorization for Use of Military Force (AUMF), passed almost unanimously in both houses after the attacks of 9/11 (only Senator Barbara Lee voted no) states:

“That the President is authorized to use all necessary and appropriate force against those nations, organizations, or persons he determines planned, authorized, committed, or aided the terrorist attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001, or harbored such organizations or persons, in order to prevent any future acts of international terrorism against the United States by such nations, organizations or persons.”

While it’s hypocritical that democrats would support and applaud a democratic president for striking against terrorists but condemn a republican for doing the exact same, we are hardly surprised that they would resort to attempting to divide our nation even further by publicly supporting the terrorist group over our own people.

Joe Biden, Elizabeth Warren, Michael Bloomberg, Bernie Sanders, and a bunch of other democratic candidates I’ve honestly never even heard of all waited approximately 2 hours after Soleimani’s death to start to speak out against the actions taken by President Trump.

Of course, all statements start out by saying that Soleimani was indeed a terrorist connected to hundreds of American deaths, and then go on to say that the Trump administration can’t handle these foreign affairs.

So first they support the terrorists, and then they condemn them when trying to secure votes.

Jordan Steckler is a research analyst with opposition group United Against Nuclear Iran.  Referring to Soleimani, he said, “He is the individual most responsible for the destabilization and inflammation of sectarian tensions that Iran has sown throughout the Middle East.

Despite being outmanned, outgunned and outspent by its adversaries, Soleimani has employed tactics including terrorist attacks, covert operations and the outsourcing of fighting to foreign militias to undermine the sovereignty of neighboring states and expand Iran’s military and diplomatic influence.”

After all this research and information about Soleimani and his Quds Force, we’d have to say we agree with Congressman Steve Scalise’s questions to those opposing the President ending the threat:

“Whose side are you on?”

Those who make peaceful revolution impossible make violent revolution inevitable. -John F Kennedy
