Outrage grows after report that DHS is now letting illegal immigrants use app to make release into interior U.S. quicker

U.S.-MEXICO BORDER- You literally cannot make this stuff up. Breitbart News tells us that feckless Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas’ latest brainstorm is to facilitate a mobile app for foreign nationals (aka illegal aliens) coming to the U.S.-Mexico border to make their illegal entry into the country easier.

The app will allow the illegals to be released into the interior U.S. quicker.

According to a report in the Los Angeles Times Friday, the Biden administration is using a mobile app called CBP One, which allows foreign nationals (aka illegal aliens) working with non-governmental agencies in Mexico and Central America, to send their information to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

This is done in order for the agency to determine if they are eligible for release into the interior U.S (never to be seen again) while awaiting immigration hearings.

The mobile app is specifically designed for migrants (aka illegal aliens) enrolled in the Trump-era “Remain in Mexico” program, since dismantled by Biden, and which has led to the current cluster you-know-what at the southern border.

People who are also looking for exemptions from the CDC’s Title 42 authority, where federal immigration officials can return border crossers (aka illegal aliens) to protect public health can also use the app.

According to the LA Times:

“With CBP one, organizations such as the United Nations refugee agency send to CBP photographs of asylum seekers they’ve identified, and the app uses facial recognition to compare those pictures to those in the existing gallery.

The app then sends a response back indicating whether the person’s case is active and how log they’ve been waiting. If the app shows the case is open, an organization can arrange for the asylum seeker to get a COVID-19 screening, travel to a port of entry and obtain permission from CBP to enter.”

The Times published a screenshot of the app via DHS, which showed how the process works for foreign nationals (aka illegal aliens) seeking release into the U.S. interior.

“A green check indicates the individual, whose picture the user submitted to CBP, is enrolled in Remain in Mexico and has a pending immigration case,” a Times caption read. “A yellow bar indicates the individual is enrolled but the individual’s case is now closed.”

The DHS under Mayorkas has been working closely with non-government agencies, or NGO’s tied to the United Nations in order to identify foreign nationals in Mexico and Central America who are eligible for release into the U.S. interior.

Breitbart noted they have previously reported on the role of the United Nations (UN) in sticking their nose into U.S. business by bringing foreign nationals to the U.S.-Mexico border for release. Included in the NGO’s are the International Rescue Committee and the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society (HIAS), which also resettles refugees in the U.S. utilizing taxpayer money.

Homeland Security gained use of the app last month on an emergency basis from the Office of Management and Budget without having to go through the transparent process involving public comment procedures that are typically required.

Mayorkas officially ended the Remain in Mexico program this month, a program which had led to a significant decrease in asylum fraud and in essence led to the end of the so-called “Catch and Release” program where illegal border crossers were released to the interior United States.

Between February 19 to May 25, DHS has released about 11,200 illegal aliens enrolled in the Remain in Mexico program into the interior U.S. with more expected to be released this month. The Times said that most of those releases are being facilitated through the CBP One mobile app. Ain’t technology great? If you’re illegal that is.

Meanwhile, Biden is flying and busing illegals all over the country via either Greyhound bus or domestic commercial flights.

Last month, Breitbart reported that between February 19 through April 22, the Biden administration had flown some 7,200 illegals into the U.S. interior on domestic commercial flights. Unlike real Americans who have to show photo ID in order to fly, illegals don’t have to deal with such inconveniences. Nor do they have to prove they are negative for the Wuhan coronavirus.

Breitbart noted that in one recent case, 15 single adult male illegals were apprehended at the southern border, sent to a DHS facility and then placed on either a bus or commercial domestic flight and sent on their merry way to cities around the country. Law Enforcement Today reported recently that foreign terrorists from Yemen were among those apprehended at the border.

DIG DEEPER

US-MEXICO BORDER- Law Enforcement Today reported Tuesday on two Yemeni men who were on the FBI’s terrorism watch list who were caught illegally crossing the border into the U.S. in January and March.

Now, investigative reporter Sara Carter is telling us that there may be many more possible terrorists crossing the border who are so-called “got-aways.”

In an exclusive report Tuesday on Fox News’Hannity,” she spoke about the crisis at the U.S.-Mexico border which is getting worse every day.

Carter told Hannity that some officials have told her they believe at least some of the illegal aliens who are not encountering border patrol agents are potential or suspected terrorists—especially given the capture of the two Yemeni men near Calexico, California.

One new development in the border situation is it appears the Biden administration has, at least in part, reversed his ill-advised decision to stop construction of the border wall began under the Trump administration.

Biden promised during the campaign to stop construction of the wall, saying “not one more brick” would be laid toward building the wall after he was sworn in.

Biden’s decision to halt construction of the wall has been widely criticized, with some noting that by leaving gaps in the border wall, Biden has made the job of Border Patrol agents untenable.

It now appears that Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas may ask that some of the “gaps” in the wall be finished in order to stem the tide of illegals crossing the border.

“The sources that I spoke to in DHS as well as intelligence said that people in the Biden administration and particularly officials in the Department of Homeland Security wanted that press release down because they didn’t want the public to be alarmed at the very real threat the border poses,” Carter said.

“And particularly [so] now under the Biden administration, we saw 170,000 people enter the border in March of those other people that they apprehended and another 100,000 in February.”

Carter said that Customs and Border Protection told her that about 1,000 people a day are considered to be “got-aways”—individuals that have not been apprehended or made contact with border officials.

“That means those are people they cannot identify, people they have not traced—people that disappear into our country without any identity whatsoever and there’s a big concern among intelligence officials that some of those people could be terrorists.”

In response to the apprehension of the two terrorist suspects, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki downplayed the incident, saying “encounters of known and suspected terrorists are very uncommon.”

While that may be true, all it takes is one to make it through and complete their mission.

Also on Hannity, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) said that he requested a classified intelligence briefing on the suspected terrorists crossing the border.

“While I was at the border almost a month ago talking to the border agents, they told me that they had caught people on the terrorist watch list.

When I brought that up at the press conference, my Democratic colleagues weren’t shocked by it. Do you know what they did? They called me a liar,” McCarthy said.

“It should not come as a surprise that the Democrats are troubled by this. They are trying to distract from this disaster because they created it. These policies have created a catastrophe.”

McCarthy also said Vice President Kamala Harris should attend the requested briefing, while noting that she is “so-called, supposed to be in charge” of border security—after she was designated by Biden to oversee the border situation. Thus far, she has been missing in action.

“Because, what’s happening to us and these policies that President Biden wouldn’t have made us less secure. We are vulnerable now to terrorist attacks.

When you talk about the two terrorists they have caught on the terrorist watch list, from Yemen, they didn’t catch them together. They caught the two separately,” McCarthy continued.

For the story on the two Yemeni men apprehended at the border, we invite you to:

DIG DEEPER

EL CENTRO, CA- Hey, it’s just kids crossing the border everyone. Nothing to see here. Apparently not so much. According to the Daily Mail, two Yemeni nationals were arrested in California and spent the last three months in Calexico, California.

Not a big deal, right?

Well in this case it is because both were on the FBI’s terrorist watch list.

The two men aged 33 and 26 were apprehended by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agents assigned to the El Centro, California station. The 26-year-old was apprehended on the night of March 30, according to Border Report.

Earlier this year on January 29, border agents arrested the 33-year-old in the same area.

According to CBP in a statement, the two banditos were on the U.S. government watch list for terrorism suspects and also appeared on the “no-fly” list.

“Part of the Border Patrol’s mission states we will protect the country from terrorists,” said Chief Patrol Agent Gregory K. Bovino.

“Today, like every other day, our agents did that. These apprehensions at the border illustrates the importance of our mission and how we can never stop being vigilant in our everyday mission to protect this great country.”

The apprehension of the terror suspects will no doubt fuel further criticism from Congressional Republicans, who have been slamming the Biden administration’s open border policies which have led to a surge of illegals crossing into the United States.

Republicans have also previously warned that terrorists could be secreting themselves among those illegals entering the country and attempting to avoid detection.

According to the Los Angeles Times, the identities of the two terror suspects was not released, and their pictures had their faces redacted out. Officials said they had found a cellphone SIM card hidden underneath the insole of the 33-year-old suspect.

The Mail reported that in January 2018, a joint report was issued by Homeland Security and the Department of Justice which said that DHS had 2,554 “encounters” worldwide with people on the watch list who were trying to travel into the United States.

Of that number, 2,170 were trying to enter by air, 335 by land and the rest by sea.

In 2019, former President Donald Trump said during a Rose Garden speech that, “We have terrorists coming through the southern border because they find that’s probably the easiest place to come through. They drive right in and they make a left.”

The Mail noted that illegals have been pouring into the country at higher numbers since Biden was sworn in, taking advantage of his administration’s hands off approach to immigration.

In March alone, over 170,000 people entered the US over the southern border, giving that month the highest single-month total in over ten years.

The border patrol has said they are currently detaining around 5,000 people a day. Unaccompanied minors, meanwhile, are allowed to remain in the country, which has forced the administration to open a tenth temporary housing facility to attempt to ease overcrowded conditions at the facilities.

According to Todd Bensman, an analyst with the Center for Immigration Studies, a group that favors a harder stance on immigration and stronger defenses against possible terrorist infiltration had estimated in 2019 that around 20 terrorist suspects are detained at the U.S.-Mexico border every year.

While the federal government doesn’t disclose how many people are on the no-fly list, in 2016 Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) said there were around 81,000 people on the list, less than 1,000 of whom are American citizens.

In March, a group of Republicans visited the border in El Paso, Texas, and reported that border agents told them that some people caught crossing the border were on the U.S. terror watchlist.

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, who traveled to the border on March 15 said after meeting with Border Patrol agents that he had been told people with links to terrorist organizations were among those rushing the border.

“It’s not just people from Mexico or Honduras or El Salvador,” he said.

“They’re now finding people from Yemen, Iran, Turkey. People on the terrorist watch list they are catching and they’re rushing in all at once.”

Republicans have slammed the Biden administration for eliminating virtually all of the restrictions put in place by the Trump administration which has opened the floodgates at the border.

The terrorists watch list is maintained by the FBI Terrorism Screening Center, run by the same agency that missed signs of possible trouble at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, which doesn’t lend itself to a lot of confidence in that agency’s ability to stop a terrorist from entering the country.

The list contains the names of people suspected or known to having been involved in terrorist activities, the FBI said.

A U.S. official told Reuters that overall, few of those caught trying to cross the border match people on the terror watch list.

According to the libertarian CATO Institute, from 1975 through 2017, seven people who entered the country illegally from so-called “special interest countries—those states tied at least loosely to terrorism—were convicted of planning attacks on U.S. soil.

Of those, none crossed from Mexico. They either came from Canada or jumped ship in U.S. ports, and all did so prior to special interest countries being classified as such.

All of the plots were foiled, and nobody was injured. The CATO Institute also said the only known terrorists who crossed the US border from Mexico during that time frame were three ethnic Albanians from Macedonia who entered the country as children with their parents in 1984.

When they were in their 20’s, they were arrested in a foiled plan to attack Fort Dix in New Jersey, a U.S. Army base in 2007, CATO said. Macedonia was not considered a special interest country.
