According to the Associated Press, a Homeland Security employee described as a “small business specialist” and acquisitions officer for ICE is behind the website “War on the Horizon” advocating a “race war”.  Ayo Kimathi, operating under the pseudonym “Irritated Genie” is responsible for acquiring handcuffs, firearms, and other law enforcement equipment for ICE.

The Haitianist website created to prepare for an apocalyptic race war lists its creed:

“War on the Horizon Creed Afrikan people are an international racial family who share a common: homeland (Afrika), Racial origin, culture, destiny, and a bitter enemy – the white race. We are challenged by our common destiny to eradicate the system of racism white supremacy and its benefactors in order to establish righteous Black Dominion over Planet Earth.

We are mandated by our Creator to return to our proper status as rulers of this world.  It is within the full rights and responsibility of every member of the Black world family to see to it that this ultimate goal is achieved so that we may once again restore peace and prosperity to Planet Earth under the divine and just leadership of God’s first people – The Black man, woman, and child of Afrika.

May our Black Brothers and Sisters see eternal progress,

May our International friends reap the benefits of refined Black leadership and,

May all of our global enemies perish by means of our Black swords.

 Amen Ra!

 War on the Horizon

We’ll See You on the Battlefield!”

Since the report, Kimathi has been placed on paid administrative leave.  One of his former supervisors stated to the Southern Poverty Law Center that everyone in the office feared him and worried that he’d bring a gun in and “go postal”.

This information has an impact on so many levels.  What kind of screening is being done on prospective employees at the Department of Homeland Security, including ICE, that this individual was hired into an agency such as ICE?  What is more concerning, could he have used his position to gain access to large numbers of weapons to enact his “race war”?

This individual represented his “entertainment” website as a venue for videos and concert tickets under the title W.O.H. as required by DHS policy for outside activities.  Why was there no follow up to verify the content of the website? It is an encouraging note that this individual was placed on administrative leave, yet once the public flap is over with, will he simply be returned to duty, especially if he defends the site as merely “entertainment”?

There are reports in the news of “workplace violence” occurring, the Ft. Hood massacre being listed as one of them, in which supervisors fearing the repercussions from political correctness failed to intervene before it was too late.  Will political correctness and the misnomer of “tolerance” excusing and even justifying these views return this individual to work?

It is easy to react to the racial aspects of this, in fact, since the reaction to the Martin/Zimmerman case, anti-white and anti-black incidents have been dredged up, recycled and making the rounds in the news, as well as the internet.  Headlines are designed to provoke fear, outrage and the impetus to do something.  As my skeptical, cynical cop side is watching this, I wonder if it is coincidence, especially since there are plenty of quotes from politicians and members of the grievance industry fanning the flames.

It is understandable, if not reasonable to harbor animus towards an individual or specific group for injustices, both real and perceived.  When hatred, especially virulent hatred such as displayed on Kimathi’s website, extends to encompass an entire race, ethnic group, gender, religious or even political group, we have plenty of models of where that leads across history into current times.  Darfur, Serbia, Iraq and unfortunately so many more are stark examples of where that kind of hatred leads.

Reading about these events really doesn’t convey the horrific suffering, the loss of human potential, one of those lost could have made a discovery that changed the world for the better, cures for horrible diseases or inventions like printing presses, cars and the electric light. To believe that only evil resides in the entirety of any group of people is to ignore history across the world that proves otherwise.

From what I’ve read, I don’t think Martin Luther King, Jr. or the founding fathers would recognize the dreams they launched were they to read media reports or even current history books.  It is rare to have political leaders who not only believe in the potential of America, but are able to overcome the negative political cronyism inherent within every government that ever existed.  Instead, most often they cultivate the lowest emotions to distract and manipulate for political gain.

Unfortunately, Kimathi’s website will serve to fill yet another vulnerable younger generation with poisonous hatred and the cycle will continue.  One of the saddest things I observed as a human being, as well as a patrol officer is when people from all walks of life were so filled with hatred; they destroyed themselves, even when there were people desperately trying to help them.  The greatest tragedy is when innocent people are destroyed along with them that had nothing to do with the source of the hatred.

It is going to take people who understand the universal truth that life isn’t always fair, obstacles must be overcome and that there are no races, genders, ethnicities or other human distinction that are exempt from both the cruelest and the most heroic traits to stop the madness.  There are people on opposite sides with vested interests in seeing that old wounds never heal and perpetuating new injustices. It is denying the American people from getting closer to the promise of liberty and justice for all, as well as being judged on content of character, not the color of skin.

The fruits of the grievance industry, including the media and politicians who subscribe to this view, are a generation of 14 to 25 year olds, illiterate, hopeless and destroying themselves and those around them.  The question to ask is whether this industry will remain unchallenged, allowing the self- fulfilling prophesy of oppression to unfold or will Americans, all Americans, pick up the powerful tools provided by the founding generation and so many of all races who sacrificed everything for those principles?
