FT MYERS, FLORIDA- “Dear Bad Guys: Don’t say you weren’t warned.”
That is the message sent loud and clear by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis this weekend to serve as a warning to those who might try to take advantage of the natural disaster from Hurricane Ian.
Ok, maybe DeSantis didn’t say it in so many words but his point was pretty clear…it is not a good idea to loot in a Second Amendment fearing state, the New York Post reports.
“Don’t even think about looting. Don’t even think about taking advantage of people in this vulnerable situation. And so local law enforcement is involved in monitoring that,” America’s governor said during a Friday news conference.
“You can have people you know bringing boats into some of these islands and trying to ransack people’s homes. I can tell you, in the state of Florida, you never know what might be lurking behind somebody’s home, and I would not wanna chance that if I were you, given that we’re a Second Amendment state,” he continued.

DeSantis spoke to a sign posted on a boarded up business in Punta Gorda, Florida which gave this stark warning: “You loot, we shoot,” according to Florida Politics.
Florida will not tolerate looters taking advantage of #HurricaneIan to prey on vulnerable Floridians. They will be arrested and I have asked state attorneys to seek the longest pretrial detention possible to keep them locked up so they cannot commit new crimes. https://t.co/ORw0qJ1TbB

According to WCJB-20, there have been sporadic looting reports in some of Florida’s hardest hit areas, including Fort Myers, where police arrested five looters attempting to do early Christmas looting. In Levy County, another man was arrested for burglary.

DeSantis isn’t the only Florida official warning would-be thieves after Ian left parts of Florida totally destroyed or severely damaged.
Lee County Sheriff Carmine Marceno spoke along the same lines as DeSantis, with Lee County being one of the hardest hit areas of the Sunshine State.
“For any of those individuals that think they are going to go out there and loot or prey on people during this horrific event—you better think twice,” Marceno said.
“When I say zero tolerance, zero tolerance means we will hunt you down, track you down, and you’re going to jail, if you’re lucky.”
The fact Ian occurred in Florida and not some free-wheeling state that coddles criminals, like say Illinois or New York, means criminals better think long and hard about whether they want to take a chance for that box of tampons they might be thinking of turning for some quick cash.
In 2020, while cities and states across the U.S were trying to figure more ways to coddle criminals, Florida was working to deal with the problem of looting head on, according to Louder With Crowder.
Along those lines, the state passed common-sense rioting and looting reform that summer to deal with the out-of-control crime that decimated cities such as Minneapolis, Seattle, and Portland, among many other Democrat-run hellholes.
And unlike the political appointees who tend to make up big city police departments up north, Florida sheriffs don’t play. They are by and large fierce supporters of the Second Amendment and in fact some of them aren’t shy about encouraging their citizens to exercise those rights if need be.
For example, Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd, one of our favorites was responding to a reporter’s question a few years back, who was questioning him about a shootout between his deputies and a suspect.
In response, Judd said, in part:
“If you surrender peacefully, that’s the way we prefer it. You pull guns on us, you can not only plan on, but you can guarantee we’re gonna shoot you.”
Another video, he was encouraging residents in his county to get their license to carry.
“Get a concealed firearms license, and carry it. And if you need to shoot somebody, shoot ‘em a lot.”
Regarding DeSantis’s warning to looters, it wasn’t long before the dumbest person on cable news (who has a LOT of competition) decided to weigh in, according to Fox News. That brain-dead moron is of course MSNBC host Joy Reid.
Reid attempted to draw a parallel between DeSantis warning looters that they were in a Second Amendment state and suggesting they might want to think twice before looting.
Reid compared his statement to that of “segregationist Miami Sheriff Walter E. Headley, who said in the 1960s, “When the looting starts, the shooting starts.”

So in other words, Reid must think in that pea-brain of hers that the only ones who loot are minorities. How very racist of her, but not totally unexpected. This is standard operating procedure for Reid, although her racism is usually targeting whites, not her own race.
DeSantis has increasingly become a target for the radical left, as he is viewed as a future threat as a possible GOP presidential candidate. In fact, in most polling he finishes second to former President Donald Trump, who has been signaling he may indeed go for another go at the Oval Office. If he declines, DeSantis becomes the prohibitive favorite as the Republican nominee in 2024.
So Reid, along with the rest of the mainstream media, has gotten her marching orders from the Democratic National Committee to target DeSantis and label him as a “racist, homophobe, Hitleresque tyrant.” None of which is remotely accurate, but it makes for good fodder for the unhinged lunatic left.
In case you missed it, below is piece we published about vice-giggler Kamala Harris claiming hurricane relief aid would be decided based on “equity.”
The following may contain content which is editorial in nature and which expresses the opinion of the writer.
FLORIDA- It’s official…the Biden administration has literally jumped the shark on this equity garbage. Time was when a natural disaster would bring our country together, such as what happened during Hurricane Katrina. Now they are just another excuse for Democrats to push their radical leftist agenda.
First of all, we saw leftists using the fact Florida got hit with a category 4 hurricane to continue pushing their fantasy of climate change. One might think that this was the first time a category 4 hurricane hit the United States. Sadly for the leftist lunatics, that couldn’t be farther from the truth.
As if that wasn’t bad enough, on Friday we had the vice-giggler, Kamala Harris make the unbelievable admission that the Biden administration would dole out Hurricane Ian relief “based on equity” to “communities of color” first, reported the Daily Mail. Yup, nothing like trying to bring the country together.
Harris’s unbelievable comments drew a sharp rebuke from Christina Pushaw, rapid response director for Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis in addressing Harris’s clearly racially charged comments regarding release of federal emergency funds in response to the deadly storm.
Harris also made the unsubstantiated claim that people of color and those who live in lower income communities are “most impacted by these extreme [weather] conditions.”
Using a hurricane to push equity should come as no surprise coming out of this administration, as they made the same claims during the COVID pandemic in an attempt to justify allowing minorities to jump the line for treatment.
Harris made the unbelievable statement while discussing climate change with actress Priyanka Chopra while Harris was speaking at the Democratic National Committee’s Women’s Leadership Forum on Friday.
The historic hurricane, one of the strongest ever to hit the mainland United States, wreaked havoc across the Florida peninsula, flooding homes and businesses on both coasts, including the Daytona International Speedway, cut off the only access between the mainland and Sanibel Island by wiping out a portion of a causeway, and knocked out electricity to 2.67 million Sunshine State homes and businesses, an amount which accounts for nearly 25% of utility customers.
Continuing her remarks, Harris said:
“I know we are all thinking about the families in Florida and Puerto Rico with [Hurricane] Fiona, and what we need to do to help them in terms of an immediate response and aid.
“We have to address this in a way that is about giving resources based on equity, understanding that we fight for equality, but we also need to fight for equity.” [emphasis added]
Continuing, the marble-mouthed VP said:
“Understanding not everyone starts out at the same place, and if we want people to be in an equal place, sometimes we have to take into account those disparities.”
And of course the clapping seals in the audience applauded her comments.
Harris’s comments set Pushaw into orbit, and she issued a sharp rebuttal to Harris’s racist comments:
“This is false. @VP’s rhetoric is causing undue panic and must be clarified. FMA Individual Assistance is available to all Floridians impacted by Hurricane Ian, regardless of race or background.”

— Christina Pushaw 🐊 🇺🇸 (@ChristinaPushaw) September 30, 2022
She then encouraged any Floridians requiring assistance to call a special hotline or log on to a government website.
Afterward, Pushaw issued another tweet, saying:
“The @VP needs t0 correct what she said as well. A real journalist would simply ask her to clarify what she meant by those comments and why she misrepresented the relief effort.”
Harris was eviscerated on Twitter for her comments, with journalist Ian Miles Cheong writing: “Just say it. Poor white people are screwed, and Kamala Harris is gloating about it the same way she gloated about sending thousands of black men to prison over drug-related misdemeanors.”
Poor white families in Florida which had their houses flooded will not be getting any federal funds. https://t.co/ZCjLMITMja
— Ian Miles Cheong (@stillgray) September 30, 2022
In a subsequent tweet, he wrote:
“If journalists were any good at doing their jobs they’d be hammering Kamala Harris on the remarks she made today about how white families affected by Hurricane Ian won’t be getting any federal funds because the money will be diverted to ‘communities of color’ before all else.”

You can’t make this up.
Kamala Harris said the administration will be giving hurricane resources “based on equity” by directing funds to “communities of color.”

The hypocrisy of Harris’s remarks wasn’t lost on American Greatness senior writer Julie Kelly, who spoke of the irony of her statements:
“This regime is pouring tens of billions into one of the whitest countries on Earth [Ukraine] but warning white Americans to get in the back of the line for their own money to recover from a catastrophic hurricane. And watch her malicious facial expression at the end.”

Pushaw later announced in her Twitter feed that Casey DeSantis, first lady of Florida, had awarded some $1 million from Florida’s Disaster Fund to qualifying organizations who are helping victims.
