Gorka: Democrats planning amendment of Executive Order so security agencies can target right-wing U.S. citizens as domestic terrorists

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Author, talk radio host, and former Trump advisor Dr. Sebastian Gorka warned recently that the Biden administration is gearing up to target private U.S. citizens as domestic terrorists.

Gorka, coming off of a one-week suspension from YouTube for an interview with Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, issued this warning during a Feb. 4 broadcast of Breitbart News Daily with host Alex Marlow.

Gorka told Marlow:

“I was informed yesterday by a private citizen that the Biden administration — and this comes on top of what [Defense Secretary Lloyd] Austin is doing with the military — but the Biden administration, Alex, is working with the Senate and House intelligence committees to make amendments to an executive order from the 1980s — it’s called 12333 — to permit the NSA and the CIA to target U.S. citizens as domestic terror threats.”

Executive Order 12333, entitled “United States Intelligence Activities,” describes how agencies of the U.S. Government may surveil U.S. citizens at home and abroad.

At present, the stated goal of this order is as follows:

“The United States intelligence effort shall provide the President and the National Security Council with the necessary information on which to base decisions concerning the conduct and development of foreign, defense and economic policy, and the protection of United States national interests from foreign security threats.”

In addition to the stipulation that agency efforts are directed at protecting against “foreign security threats,” this Executive Order also currently notes:

“Agencies within the Intelligence Community shall use the least intrusive collection techniques feasible within the United States or directed against United States persons abroad.

“Agencies are not authorized to use such techniques as electronic surveillance, unconsented physical search, mail surveillance, physical surveillance, or monitoring devices unless they are in accordance with procedures established by the head of the agency concerned and approved by the Attorney General.”

The Executive Order goes on to say:

“Such procedures shall protect constitutional and other legal rights and limit use of such information to lawful governmental purposes.”

Gorka went on to call potential changes to this Order “very, very, very disturbing news.”

When asked by Marlow about the presence of an actual threat, Gorka noted that the left does not actually see a threat.

He stated:

“What is a domestic terror threat?

“Whenever the left-wing media gets themselves all spun up, they always have to go back to Oklahoma City and Timothy McVeigh….

“We have just seen a year of riots across America.  We’ve seen more than 30 people killed.  We’ve Captain David Dorn, a police officer, murdered….

“So this is a political move.”

He added:

“This is their attempts to criminalize being a conservative.”

Gorka also reported to Marlow that Congress is presently, in closed session, “trying to expand illegally the warrantless surveillance of U.S. citizens by the NSA and the CIA” in order to “target Trump supporters as a made-up threat to America.”

Gorka went on to discuss the Democrats’ “normalization of violence,” reviewing violent rhetoric from Maxine Waters, Joe Biden, Eric Holder, and Barack Obama.

And yet, he added, conservatives are the ones being investigated at this time.

He told Marlow:

“This is not a theory. This is happening right now.”

Gorka continued:

“I am having reported to me by the most reliable sources that women – mothers – are having the FBI knock on their doors because they were at the march on January 6, not inside Congress, not inside the building, not walking through the velvet ropes to Nancy [Pelosi’s]  podium, but simply at the Trump rally.

“And the FBI had tracked them down using the mobile phone positioning data of these individuals.”

He added:

“We have the FBI putting people on their wanted list, not because they’re members of BLM who tried to burn down a federal courthouse, but because they were outside the Capitol building, quote unquote ‘inciting violence.’”

Gorka also discussed the targeting of members of the U.S. military by “political hack” and Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin.

Austin has recently called for a 60-day service-wide stand-down in order to address what he calls “extremism in the military.”

Gorka noted:

“When [Austin] was in his Senate confirmation hearing, he said, and I quote directly, that we have enemies, enemies, Alex, in the armed forces of America.

“Now, the word ‘enemy’ is what you use for somebody you’re going to destroy, you’re going to shoot, you’re going to blow up.

He went on to say:

“He’s talking about enemies in the Army, the Marine Corps, the Air Force, the Navy, the Coast Guard.

“That’s the person who’s in charge of the DOD right now.”

Gorka also “assure[d]” Marlow that none of those “extremists” identified in the military would be affiliated with Antifa or Black Lives Matter.

Recalling that Austin “downplayed the threat of ISIS” during the Obama administration, Gorka leveled a critique at the priorities of the newly appointed Defense Secretary.

Citing his extensive experiences in dealing with all branches of the military, Gorka called the armed services “an absolute reflection, a macrocosm of American society,” and as such, he said, they harbor no more or less racism than society as a whole.

He then asked:

“That’s his priority?

“As China is flexing its muscles, as Iran is getting close to getting a nuclear weapon, as Russia again is testing America?

He went on to say:

“This tells you that we have at the highest levels of the Biden administration people who are not there for political purposes to do a job, but people who are there because they are political hacks.”

He then described Austin as a:

“political hack who is kneeling at the altar of identity politics and critical race theory.”

Gorka added:

“Instead of dealing with what we are meant to be dealing with, which is imminent threats to national security, he is giving in to critical race theory.

“And it’s disturbing, but it’s also an embarrassment.”

Gorka concluded by describing the modern left as characterized by “a disconnect with reality.”

He added that, for the left:

“the truth is defined by whoever has power.”

Rep. Spier wants military to check recruits social media for “white supremacist tendencies,” nothing about BLM, Antifa

The following contains editorial content written by a retired Chief of Police and current staff writer for Law Enforcement Today.

WASHINGTON, DC- Even though there is zero evidence to indicate any involvement by members of the military in the January 6 incident at the US Capitol Building, that isn’t stopping Congressional Democrats from using that incident to push conspiracy theories and as a means to stomp on the Constitution.

The latest politician to use that incident to push for intrusive government intervention is California Democratic Rep. Jackie Spier, who according to Breitbart is pushing Biden, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines to look at past social media posts made by military recruits to see if they have any “white supremacist” or “extremist” tendencies.

In a January 29 letter to the three officials, Spier said the Department of Defense and the U.S. Government were not “effectively screening servicemembers and other individuals with sensitive roles for white supremacist and violent extremist ties.” Once again, Spier makes these claims with no evidence to support them.

Spier continued, “Social media platforms such as Facebook, Gab, Parler, and 4Chan are frequently used by domestic terrorist groups to recruit members and plan violent attacks, including in some of the above cases involving military servicemembers.” .

Ironically, Spier didn’t include platforms such as Twitter and YouTube, with Twitter being used extensively by far-left groups such as Black Lives Matter and Antifa to facilitate violent demonstrations and riots especially over the past 8 months.

As far as Parler is concerned, according to Legal Insurrection, out of the 170 arrests reviewed and 19 DOJ press releases examined, the vast majority of them had references to Facebook, YouTube and Twitter, with only two mentioning Parler, which was de-platformed by Amazon Web Services last month and for all intents and purposes shut down. The reason given by Amazon was incitement of violence.

Spier, in referring to the January 6 incident at the Capitol, added:

“These platforms were crucial for planning the January 6, 2021 domestic terrorist attack upon the U.S. Capitol and the Congress of the United States. Yet social media is not reviewed during the military’s accessions process or even as part of the background investigation process for security clearances, despite collection and reporting of other intrusive, private data, such as financial and behavioral health information.”

Spier asked Biden to issue an executive order [like he’d pass a chance to do that] which identifies white supremacy and violent extremism as a critical threat that must be considered as part of the security clearance adjudication process.

She also asked Biden to direct all relevant federal agencies to update their respective background investigation processes so that review of social media is reviewed in order to identify either white supremacist or violent extremist ties.

Spier also asked Austin to instruct the respective services of the military to also review social media activity or recruits as part of the accessions process, while also developing guidance to assist recruiters in identifying extremist groups and activities.

“While I believe strongly that the actions recommended in this letter have been justified for quite some time, the appalling events at the Capitol this month—and the central role of social media in their planning and organization—offer a new sense of urgency.”

She continued, “The screening processes for servicemembers and others in critical national security positions are outdated. Modernizing background investigations to being them in line with these new realities should be among your highest priorities as the new administration commences.”

It is unknown what Biden might do with Spier’s suggestions.
