Deep state’s deep ties to China visible on Jan 6 commission, Bush family ties to CCP

WASHINGTON, DC- What exactly is it with the American political class and their ties to Communist China? Two situations have became known this week in which one member of Congress and another person tied to two former presidents are tied to the communist country in two separate but disturbing revelations.

The first involves a Democratic member of Nancy Pelosi’s Jan 6 politburo, otherwise known as the January 6 hit squad, Virginia Democrat Rep. Elaine Luria, who has been tied to a Chinese Communist party-linked tech firm by virtue of a six figure investment, according to The National Pulse.

According to a recent financial disclosure, Lauria holds an investment worth between $250,000 to $500,000 in Alibaba, an e-commerce conglomerate whose executives include a number of powerful and influential figures in the Chinese Communist Party.

According to National Pulse, that company has been deeply involved in the “research, production and repair of weapons and equipment for the People’s Liberation Army (PLA)’ and which has a “deep record of cooperation and collaboration” with China’s “state security bureaucracy,” according to former Assistant Secretary for International Security and Nonproliferation Christopher Ford.

Moreover, the State Department has flagged Alibaba as a “tool” of the Chinese Communist Party, noting its assistance in building up “technology-facilitated surveillance and social control.”

According to the report:

Significantly, the modern “China Model” is built upon a foundation of technology-facilitated surveillance and social control. These techniques for ruling China have been—and continue to be—in critical ways developed, built, and maintained on behalf of the Party-State by technology firms such as Huawei, Tencent, ZTE, Alibaba and Baidu.

As these companies export their products and services to the rest of the world, the security and human rights problems associated with this “China Model” are progressively exported with them.

The report continued noting that companies such as Alibaba “have no meaningful ability to tell the Chinese Communist Party ‘no’ if officials decide to ask for their assistance—e.g., in the form of access to foreign technologies, access to foreign networks, useful information about foreign commercial counterparties, insight into patterns of foreign commerce, or specific information about the profiles, activity, or locations of foreign users of Chinese-hosted or -facilitated social media, computer, or smartphone applications, or telecommunications.”

It was recently reported by the outlet that Rep. Adam Schiff, also on the Jan. 6 hit squad had met with a Chinese Communist Party official who had previously been identified as leading the regime’s foreign influence operations on a visit to Washington, D.C. sponsored by the China-United States Exchange Foundation.

Finally, Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-MS) has a history of backing extremist guerilla warfare groups in the United States, as previously reported by Law Enforcement Today.

And what of that family of two former presidents? According to The Washington Free Beacon, Neil Bush, son of former President George H. W. Bush and brother of President George W. Bush is apparently using his family name and related name influence to advocate for a Chinese government contractor which has been “blacklisted” by the U.S. government over links to the Chinese military.

Bush is a cosponsor of an event called the International Symposium on the Peaceful Use of Space Technology which begins on Nov. 18 in Beijing.

Three co-chairs of the forum are executives with a company called the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC), a Chinese state-controlled contractor that manufactures China’s military and space equipment.

More disturbing, a subsidiary of CASC is widely credited with developing a hypersonic missile which was tested by the Chinese military back in August and which caught the Pentagon and other military observers off-guard.

That development led American officials to call the nuclear-capable missile a “national security crisis” due to its ability to evade detection.

The inclusion of a Bush to the space symposium is designed to add the appearance or propriety to the event as concerns about China’s increasingly aggressive military and space activities dominate the conversation.

One thing that Biden hasn’t undone that was put in place by former President Donald Trump were prohibitions on American companies from doing business with CASC due to it’s involvement with China’s military-industrial complex.

According to the Australian Strategic Policy Institute, which tracks the communist nation’s military activities, CASC is ranked a “very high risk” to foreign nations’ security due to links to China’s military and intelligence services.

Neil Bush has extensive business ties within China and has worked closely with a number of Chinese propaganda organizations. He chairs the George H.W. Bush Foundation for U.S.-China Relations, a co-sponsor of the space symposium.

In 2019, the Bush Foundation received some $5 million in funding from the China-United States Exchange Foundation, a leading think tank in the Communist Party’s propaganda network. Wang Tiany, a Chinese real estate investor and Bush’s business partner is a co-sponsor of the event as well.

“Bush is basically a power broker. He’s an access point for the Chinese to leverage,” said Brandon Weichert, a space security analyst and author of the book Winning Space.

Weichert notes that the space symposium follows “the classic Chinese model” of using academic and business forums to recruit experts and investors in the West.

“One of their big missions is to get Western talent and investment to come to China to do cutting-edge research and development,” Weichert told the Washington Free Beacon.

A spokesman for the Bush-China Foundation is unconcerned by CASC’s ties to the Chinese military, noting that the symposium is designed to focus on the development of space technology in the health care industry.

“We are not concerned because it is not relevant to the content of this particular conference, which is unrelated to China’s military and is instead focused on global space technological advancements and rules-setting,” said Leslie Reagan, communications director for the Bush-China Foundation.

She added that Bush doesn’t have a financial interest in the symposium and that neither he nor the foundation are paid to participate in the event.

The deep state is of course heavily involved with China, with Bush having served as honorary vice chairman of the annual gala for the National Committee on U.S.-China Relations, a think tank that facilitates dialogue between American and Chinese leaders.

Among the who’s who involved in that event were a number of high-level Biden administration officials, including CIA director William Burns, National Security Council official Kurt Campbell, Ambassador Nicholas Burns, so-called “climate czar” John Kerry, and State Department deputy secretary Wendy Sherman, who served as vice-chairs for the gala in 2019 alongside Bush.

There has been some controversy among American policymakers on U.S. collaboration with the communist nation on matters such as space exploration, with a number of critics expressing reservations concerns the Chicoms would steal technology from the U.S. Meanwhile, some Biden advisers have urged U.S.-Chinese cooperation on space research, including NASA administrator Bill Nelson.

“We should collaborate, no doubt about it,” said Bush in a recent interview with the Center for China and Globalization, a Communist Party-linked think tank.

There are some rather questionable moves which have been made, however which include an apparent attempt to conceal CASC officials’ links to the space symposium organization.

For example, an itinerary for the symposium only shows officials’ affiliations with international space organizations; however a review conducted by the Free Beacon discovered the officials—Wu Yansheng, Yuan Jie, and Yang Baohua—serve as chairman, president, and vice president of CASC respectively.

It was a CASC subsidiary—the China Academy of Aerospace Aerodynamics—which launched the hypersonic missile in August, according to the Financial Times.

After it was revealed what the Chinese were able to accomplish, Gen. Mark Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, took time off from worrying about “white rage” and virtue signaling to express concern over the test, calling it “very concerning.”

Milley noted that China was “expanding rapidly in space, in cyber, and then in the traditional domains of land, sea and air.”

The hypersonic missile, which appears much more advanced than any technology currently possessed by the U.S., is indetectable to radar and has raised concerns that China is either developing war plans or seeking to invade Taiwan. Hey, but at least our service members are up on what is going on in the drag queen world.

“We do not have at present either the capability to reliably track that attack or to put up a reliable defense against a Chinese hypersonic attack,” said Weichert, the space security expert to the Free Beacon.

Aside from business interests, Neil Bush has been one of China’s key apologists over allegations of human rights abuses, with China actually using some of his remarks in propaganda efforts, such as when he criticized Hong Kong’s pro-democracy protests in 2019.

For example, Bush downplayed protesters’ complaints about a Communist Party-backed national security law, and also implied the U.S. government was propagating the pro-democracy demonstrations. Since that time, China has used the law to arrest dissenters and shut down news organizations which criticize it.

Editor note: In 2020, we saw a nationwide push to “defund the police”.  While we all stood here shaking our heads wondering if these people were serious… they cut billions of dollars in funding for police officers.  And as a result, crime has skyrocketed – all while the same politicians who said “you don’t need guns, the government will protect you” continued their attacks on both our police officers and our Second Amendment rights.

And that’s exactly why we’re launching this national crowdfunding campaign as part of our efforts to help “re-fund the police”.
