DA using hate crime law to charge three people accused of abusing 12-year-old boy in viral video

ATLANTA, GA – The Fulton County district attorney is reportedly making use of the state’s hate crime law in an effort to add additional charges against three defendants who were arrested earlier in 2021 regarding a viral video where a 12-year-old boy was abused and homophobic slurs were spoken during the incident.

Back in July, police arrested 18-year-old Jordan Jarrode Richards-Nwankwo, 19-year-old Lorkeyla Jamia Spencer, and 35-year-old Brittney Monique Mills under charges of simple battery and cruelty to children.

The arrest came as a result of a video uploaded to social media, where the three suspects allegedly participated in the abuse of a 12-year-old boy that was related to some of the suspects involved.

In the video, someone could be heard yelling at the child:

“You still doing gay shit? You think I cut this in your head for no reason?”

The person saying that in the video appeared to be referring to the word “gay” that was shaved into the side of the boy’s head. Apparently, the child had disclosed to family that he was having feelings that he might be transgender, which is allegedly what prompted the incident from the video.

District Attorney Fani Willis has now come forward and said that hate crime charges will be added against the three defendants in the case:

“You should not be mistreated because of factors that have nothing to do with the way God made you.”

DA Willis noted that two of the suspects involved were the brother and mother of the victim:

“To be rejected by your brother, and more importantly your mother, because of a life choice you’re making is horrible.”

By employing the hate crime statute against the defendants in the case, DA Willis says he can ensure that more prison time can be tacked on in the event that they’re convicted:

“We’re going to make sure the jury knows how hateful your conduct was.”

The new hate crime law in Georgia was passed in January of this year, and this will mark the third time that prosecutors have utilized it.

As mentioned earlier, we at Law Enforcement Today have previously covered this investigation. Here’s our previous report from July that affords more background into the case.

_

ATLANTA, GA- Authorities stated that they have arrested three people a month after a disturbing video went viral on social media.

FOX 5 reported that the three suspects, 18-year-old Jordan Jarrode Richards-Nwankwo, 19-year-old Lorkeyla Jamia Spencer, and 35-year-old Brittney Monique Mills, were all charged with cruelty to children.

Richards-Nwankwo faces an additional charged of battery. Sgt. John Chafee, with the Atlanta Police Department (APD), said in a statement:

“We’re very pleased with these arrests, but we are pleased with feedback that we got from members of the community assisting in this and how quickly they were able to jump on it.”

Reportedly, Atlanta police were first alerted to the post “depicting maltreatment of a juvenile” on June 17th. Within 24 hours, investigators said they were able to locate the juvenile and all of those involved.

The child was then placed into protective custody with the Georgia Division of Family & Children Services. In a statement, APD said:

“The behavior in this social media post was difficult to watch and is absolutely unacceptable. We are appreciative of the number of people who flagged this case with us and for those who provided information on the location where it took place.”

The statement added:

“Our investigators worked hard to identify those involved and to gather the evidence needed to place each behind bars and we are thankful for their work.”

Investigators stated that the video, which was posted in June, shows a young man with the word “gay” shaved on the side of his head. The video also shows people yelling at and hitting the young man. According to the police report, someone in the video was yelling at the young boy:

“You still doing gay (expletive). You think I cut this in your head for no reason?”

Chafee stated:

“Investigators were made aware of a video posted on social media that depicted a young male abused and it appeared that he was being abused because of his sexual orientation.”

He added:

“This was a difficult video to watch. When you see someone, you know, I have a child and when you see a young person being abused like this. I mean, this is just so unnecessary. It was difficult to watch and I think with a lot of the investigators, it was the same way.”

Chafee added:

“There is a lot of work that goes into the back, into the background of these cases because we don’t want to just, ‘Okay, this is the person and I am going to go ahead and charge them.’ We got to present evidence in court otherwise our charges mean nothing.”

Warrants were taken out for all three individuals prior to their arrests. All three were booked into the Fulton County Jail. Chafee said in a statement:

“This one came together with the way it should. People saw something wrong, they brought it to our attention, and our investigators jumped on it and acted quickly.”

According to reports, a fundraiser for the young boy was set up by Hope Giselle, a local LGBT rights activist and Devin Barrington-Ward, who is running for Atlanta City Council. As of this writing, $9,424 has been raised out of a $10,000 goal.

Report: Far-left college professor wants people arrested for criticizing Fauci and others – calls it ‘hate crime’

(Originally published August 6th, 2021)

The following contains editorial content which is the opinion of the author.

HOUSTON, TX- One thing we have learned since this coronavirus pandemic started—the world is full of tyrants who seek to use fear as a tactic to control people. In our own country, we have seen that people are willing to sacrifice liberty and freedom in exchange for “security” or “safety.”

We have also seen people come out of the closet seeking to criminalize what used to pass for free speech.

Such is the case of a Baylor College of Medicine professor, who advocates prosecuting people who disagree with Saint Anthony of Fauci and other government “scientists” for hate crimes, according to Breitbart News. You literally cannot make this stuff up.

Peter Hotez, a bowtie wearing professor of pediatrics and molecular virology authored a paper published in PLOS Biology titled “Mounting antiscience aggression in the United States” in which he suggests that a “band of ultraconservative members of the US Congress and other public officials with far-right leanings are waging organized and seemingly well-coordinated attacks against prominent US biological scientists.”

Hotez didn’t hold his criticism for members of Congress and other public officials, also suggesting that “conservative news outlets repeatedly and purposefully promote disinformation designed to portray key American scientists as enemies.”

At one time, differences of opinion and exchange of ideas were common practice in our country, however today, alternative views are dismissed as “disinformation” or “radical.” In fact, this was welcomed. That is no longer the case and Hotez is the poster child for those who seek to remove debate from the national narrative.

One must take into consideration that Hotez is a favored guest on far-left, Democrat party mouthpieces CNN and MSNBC, so there is that. He describes himself on Twitter as a “Vaccine-Scientist-Pediatrician-Combating Antsicience.” That’s a mouthful.

In order to push back on so-called “antiscience aggression,” Hotez suggests silencing all opposing points of view. For example, Hotez supports a bill called the “Scientific Integrity Act of 2021 (H.R. 849), which was introduced this past February by a Democrat, Rep. Paul Tonko of New York.

Hotez touts the legislation which he claims would “protect US Government scientists from political interference, but this needs to be extended for scientists at private research universities and institutes,” he claims.

“Still another possibility is to extend federal hate-crime protections,” he said.

He then continues to address an apparent recommendation to eliminate views running counter to his own:

“As Nobel Laureate and Holocaust survivor Elie Wiesel once pointed out, neutrality of silence favors the oppressor. We must take steps to protect our scientists and take swift and positive action to counter the growing wave of far-right antiscience aggression. Not taking action is a tacit endorsement, and a guarantee that the integrity and productivity of science in the United States will be eroded or lose ground.”

It’s interesting that Hotez cited a Holocaust survivor in his diatribe. Because if anyone knows about dealing with a totalitarian government, it’s a Holocaust survivor.

A dig through Hotez’s Twitter feed shows he’s an ego maniac, who likes to retweet people who sing his praises.

Among those Hotez rails against for “antiscience aggression” (formerly known as free speech) is the House Republicans’ Select Committee on the origins of COVID-19, “with the presumption that it was ignited by gain-of-function genetic engineering research from the Wuhan Institute of Virology.”

Anti-science? It has been well known that gain-of-function was indeed being conducted at the Wuhan lab, and there is mounting evidence that the Fauci was aware of it, apparently an inconvenient truth for Hotez.

“Senator Ron Johnson (R-WI) organized a roundtable in Milwaukee to highlight the rare adverse side effects from COVID-19 vaccines, as evening Fox News anchors promoted fake claims regarding deaths from COVID-19 vaccinations,” he said citing another “example.”

Hotez continued where he identified “aggression against science and scientists in America” as coming from three sources, which he identifies as:

“1) Far right members of the US Congress, 2) the conservative news outlets and 3) a group of thought leaders who provide intellectual underpinnings to fuel the first two elements.”

He also laid blame for so-called “antiscience aggression” on the administration of former President Donald Trump, which he hilariously compared to Nazi and fascists regimes even as he personally suggests employing Nazi and fascist tactics:

“Historically, such regimes viewed scientists as enemies of the state. In his 1941 essay, Science in the Totalitarian State, Waldemar Kaempffert outlines details using the examples of Nazism under Hitler, Fascism under Mussolini, and Marxism and Leninism. For example, under Stalin, the study of genetics and relativity were treated as dangerous western theories, and potentially in conflict with official social philosophies of state.”

Hotez accused the former White House of being “committed to policies of ‘America First,’” which he claims, “focuses on nativism, anti-immigration, and a foreign policy built around strong military build-up and deterrence, and confrontation with China.”

Yes, God forbid we put America first before other countries around the world, and clearly China is “our friend” and doesn’t deserve scrutiny. What a fool.

He continued, “A darker view links it to voter suppression, and loyalty tests to the former President that question the veracity of the 2020 Presidential election. We must take steps to protect our scientists and take swift and positive action to counter the growing wave of far-right antiscience aggression,” the leftist lunatic finished.

What a clown.
