Cops rescued a 34-year-old man looking to end it all off the Manhattan Bridge Saturday.
Police got a 911call from drivers who saw the suicidal man wearing a blue jacket and a carrying a messenger bag, wandering along the subway tracks in the center of the span, headed towards Manhattan shortly after 4 p.m., said police.
When Officer Anthony Brooks and his partner Officer Athony Sandberg tried to talk to the man, he just glanced at them, then started to walk faster, they said at a press conference on Saturday.
The two officers caught up to the man just as he ran to the outer edge of the bridge, said Brooks. The two cops along with Officer William Cooper grabbed the man and pulled him away from the edge and onto the roadway to safety, said cops.
The unidentified man was taken to Bellvue hospital for psychiatric evaluation, said police.
