Moderator Chris Wallace faces backlash over ‘bias’ debate moderating

Many people knew that the first presidential debate was going to be biased against Donald Trump, however, I don’t think anyone expected the moderator, Fox News host Chris Wallace, a registered Democrat, to clearly and openly favor Joe Biden.

Now, he is facing backlash, even from his own colleagues. 

In addition to Wallace helping Biden in sly and subtle ways, such as reading his own energy plan back to him before asking a question about it, he also allowed Biden to interrupt President Trump every chance he could, but would reprimand the President when he interrupted Biden. 

Fox News host Brian Kilmeade picked up on Wallace’s bias, and took to Twitter, writing:

“Why is @JoeBiden allowed to interrupt? @realDonaldTrump is not.”

 “Biden seems to interrupt with impunity.”

Fox News contributor Andy McCarthy noted that Wallace was being more of a hinderance, saying:

“I love Chris Wallace, but he should get out of the way.”

In another Tweet McCarthy added:

“Biden doesn’t support the Green New Deal. Oh, Wallace got that out of him? No, Trump did. Oh, well, did Wallace clarify what’s parts of Green New Deal Biden is against? No, needed to move on …”

Several times throughout the night, Biden and Wallace looked like best buds hanging out and laughing at the same jokes. That did not go unnoticed by Fox News host Greg Gutfeld, who said that it was “not good” when Wallace reportedly laughed with Biden.

 

Former Acting Director of National Intelligence Richard Grenell tweeted:

“Chris Wallace is supposed to be invisible. He isn’t. He’s off to a terrible start.”

And just like the Tweets from the Fox News employees, Grenell noticed the interruptions as well, saying:

“Chris Wallace doesn’t interrupt Joe Biden.”

Attorney Harmeet Dhillon wrote on Twitter:

“Chris Wallace is a disgrace. Republicans need to stop allowing the slanted media to have any role in debates in future years.”

Actor James Woods also took to Twitter to say:

“Chris Wallace is shamelessly biased. It’s a beautiful demonstration of fake news in action. I’m actually glad it’s happening, because you can see it for yourself.”

As I mentioned above, one of the most disturbing acts from last night was when Wallace blatantly helped Biden out by jogging his memory, so he did not have one of his typical interview “fumbles”. 

Federal co-founder Sean Davis, was one who noticed this as well, and wrote on Twitter:

“Chris Wallace is now reading Biden’s energy plan back to him to remind Biden what’s in his plan. I have never, never seen anything like this from a moderator.”

Davis then added:

“Chris Wallace is making very clear that his goal tonight is to run interference for Joe Biden. If he wants to be a deranged NeverTrumper, that’s his prerogative, but Wallace is doing everything in his power to tilt the election toward his preferred candidate. Everyone can see it.”

In an absolutely hilarious, but accurate Tweet, The Reagan Battalion wrote:

“Joe Biden better buy Chris Wallace a beer after he saved his a** so many times tonight.”

The Tweets were endless from last nights debate, each one pointing out various ways it was an absolute one sided debacle. We can only hope that the next debate has a moderator who intends on being unbias, and actually allows the candidates to debate each other, without chiming in to save Biden.

Right before the debate, Biden’s team changed course, and would not agree to have Biden’s ears check for transmitting devices. Here is the story Law Enforcement Today brought you about it. 

President Donald Trump recently asked for one additional ground rule ahead of the first presidential debate, set to take place on September 29th.

The request? The president’s re-election campaign wants the Biden campaign to allow a third party to inspect the ears of each debater for electronic devices or transmitters. While Trump himself has agreed to the request, the Biden campaign has reportedly declined the request.

According to reports, this represents a drastic shift from Biden’s campaign, which allegedly agreed to the request just a few days ago.  The New York Post’s Ebony Bowden reported:

“Joe Biden’s campaign agreed to an inspection for electronic ear pieces at tonight’s debate several days ago, but now are declining, a source familiar tells me.”

Tim Murtaugh, Trump’s campaign director of communication confirmed the report. He said:

“Joe Biden’s handlers several days ago agreed to a pre-debate inspection for electronic earpieces, but today abruptly reversed themselves and declined. Biden’s handlers have asked for multiple breaks during the debate, which President Trump doesn’t need, so we have rejected that request.”

Trump also requested that Biden undergo a drug test, either before or after the debate. In his request, Trump cited the former vice president’s “uneven” debate performances. Murtaugh said:

“On top of the refusal to take a drug test, it seems pretty obvious that the Biden team is looking for any safety net they can find in the hours leading up to the debate. With his 47 years as a failed Washington politician, how much help does Biden want?”

A Trump campaign official said that the Biden team requested two breaks during the debate, one every 30 minutes. The unnamed campaign source said:

“Our guy doesn’t need breaks. He gives 90-minute speeches all the time.”

Kate Bedingfield, Biden’s deputy campaign manager called the Trump campaign’s request “absurd. She also denied the claim that the campaign had asked for breaks.  She said:

“Of course he’s not wearing an earpiece and we never asked for breaks. His staff seems concerned that he may not do well tonight and they’re already laying the groundwork to lie about why.”

She added:

“It is pathetic, it’s weak, and once again the Trump campaign is lying.”

In speaking with reporters, Bedingfield said:

“If we’re playing that game, the Trump team asked that Chris Wallace never mention the number of COVID deaths once during the debate. You can considered that confirmed fro the Biden campaign. See how easy that was to try and throw out a distraction. They’re going to process because they don’t want to debate Joe Biden on the substance. You go to process when you can’t go to substance.”

Murtaugh fired back saying:

“This is a lie and it never happened. This is the height of playing politics with a public health crisis. Biden is trying to distract from the facts that he won’t submit to an inspection for earpieces, won’t take a drug test, and needs multiple breaks during the 90-minute debate.”

Trump recently posted on Twitter saying:

“I will be strongly demanding a drug test of sleepy Joe Biden prior to or after the debate on Tuesday night. Naturally, I will agree to take one also. His debate performances have been record setting UNEVEN to put it mildly. Only drugs could have caused this discrepancy???”

The first debate will be moderated by Fox News anchor Chris Wallace, whom Trump predicts will not ask sufficiently tough questions of Biden. He said:

“Chris is good, but I would be willing to bet that he won’t ask Biden tough questions. He will ask tough questions of me and it will be unfair, I have no doubt about it. He will be controlled by the radical left.”
