Chesapeake Virginia Police Officer Dies During Dive Training Exercise

Chesapeake Police Officer Timothy Schock died Tuesday in an usual situation which began during routine search and rescue training at Oak Grove Lake in Chesapeake, Virginia.
Schock reported to his dive partner that he was having trouble breathing at about 11:45 a.m.  His partner tried to share his breathing apparatus with Schock, but the late officer panicked after they had surfaced and dove back in.

Divers on shore helped Schock back out of the water, but he was pronounced dead at
Chesapeake Regional Medical Center a short time later.  The investigation into Schock’s death is ongoing.
