KNOXVILLE, TN- Hearing Democratic Presidential hopeful Joe Biden claim to be a “good and faithful Catholic” is like listening to Cardi B brag that she’s an English teacher. The facts don’t jive with the reality. And in the case of Biden, he is being called out for it, in this case by Tennessee Bishop Rick Stika.
Breitbart News reported that Stika slammed Biden in a tweet on Friday, saying:
“Don’t understand how Mr. Biden can claim to be a good and faithful Catholic as he denies so much of Church teaching especially on the absolute child abuse and human rights violations of the most innocent, the not yet born.”

Biden isn’t the only hypocrite in the Democratic party. Nancy Pelosi often likes to bloviate about her Catholic faith, yet she has never come across an abortion that she didn’t love. And they criticize President Trump for being a “phony Christian.”
Under Catholic Church teachings, it says that abortion “is a grievous moral equivalent to murder,” Breitbart said. The reason is both involve the intentional killing of another human being, in this case an unborn child.
As a “good and faithful Catholic” Biden should understand that means full acceptance and practice of all the Catholic Church teaches as part of its core beliefs and morals, which in the case of Biden Stika says doesn’t equate.
According to the Catechism of the Catholic Church, it states, “From the first moment of his existence, a human being must be recognized as having the rights of a person—among which is the inviolable right of every innocent being to life.” Seems pretty simple to us.
The Catechism that abortion “is gravely contrary to the moral law,” and in that way, a person who obtains an abortion incurs excommunication from the Church “by the very commission of the offense.”
Biden of course, being a Democrat worships on the altar of abortion and the leading provider of abortions in the country, Planned Parenthood. In fact, Biden is so anti-Catholic that he has promised to repeal the so-called Hyde and Helms Amendments, which prohibit taxpayer funding of abortions.
Stika also took aim at Biden running mate Kamala Harris, noting that she has taken an aggressive tone of hostility against Catholics.
In a separate tweet, Stika said:
‘And he [Biden] also praises his sidekick who has shown time and time again in the senate hearings that she is an anti-Catholic bigot,” Stika wrote. “So sad for this team. But also, I never thought the current President was all that pro-life, but he is anti-abortion as well as helpful in religious liberty.”

Stika isn’t the only faith leader speaking out against Harris. After Biden chose her last week to be his running mate, Catholic League President Bill Donohue wrote last week that Harris has a “Catholic problem” that could impact Biden’s chances of attracting Catholic voters.
In an August 14 essay, Dr. Donohue wrote that Harris has “tarred herself with the brush of anti-Catholicism,” noting that she had harassed Catholic judicial nominees and subjecting them to what amounted to a religious litmus test.
In 2018, during testimony of federal district court nominee Brian Buescher, Harris intimated that Buescher’s membership in the Knight of Columbus somehow should disqualify a nominee to the federal bench because of the Knights’ strong pro-life position, also shared with the Catholic Church.
Likewise, the National Catholic Register last week warned that Biden’s choice of Harris as his running mate may have an impact on his appeal with religious voters because of Harris’ “aggressive pro-abortion and anti-religious freedom record.
On August 15, Lauretta Brown stated in an article that Harris’ position in a number of areas is contrary to Catholic teaching, which could “spell trouble for his [Biden’s] efforts to appeal to religious voters.”
Stika has been a loud, vocal advocate for right to life causes, while making continual slams on the Democrat Party for its anti-life, pro-abortion platform.
Early last year, Bishop Stika blasted Democrats as “the party of infanticide” when they blocked anti-infanticide legislation in the United States Senate.
At that time, Stika tweeted out a congratulatory message to President Trump “for his words regarding the slaughter of babies in the womb” during his State of the Union address, while noting that the response of Democrats demonstrated “that they are the Party of Infanticide.”

Stika compared the Democrats today to those of the Civil War era who opposed ending slavery, noting that history may well one day judge them against those Civil War democrats, “who believed slaves were not human.”
Conservative Pat Buchanan is someone else who doesn’t buy what Biden is selling. In an opinion piece in Real Clear Politics, Buchanan noted that for all the talk during the DNC about Biden being “a man of faith,” his action show a different story.
In July, when the United States Supreme Court ruled that the Little Sisters of the Poor could not be forced under Obamacare to provide contraceptives to employees, Biden said the decision was “disappointing.”
Biden, who used to fall more on the pro-life side of the equation clearly knows the direction the Democrat party has gone and his sudden change of heart regarding the Hyde amendment was likely due to the fact that his new best friend Kamala Harris, along with Lizzy Warren called him out for it during the debates.
Principles don’t matter when you’re running for office. Stick your finger up into the wind and see which way its blowing.
When questioned about his flip-flop, Biden said, “Circumstances have changed.”
Yes Joe, they have. You’re running for president as a Democrat and Democrats love them some abortions.
Yet another person of faith has noticed Biden’s convenient adoption of only selected Catholic teachings. Something around twelve or so years ago, a bishop in Scranton, PA., said, “I will not tolerate any politician who claims to be a faithful Catholic who is not genuinely pro-life…No Catholic politician who supports the culture of death should approach Holy Communion.”
More recently, Biden was denied communion during the South Carolina primary, when Father Robert Morey of Florence said that Biden had “excommunicated himself” by taking a pro-abortion stance.
“Holy Communion signifies we are one with God, each other, and the Church,” Morey said at the time. “Any public figure who advocates for abortion places himself or herself out of Church teaching.”
As a good Democrat, Biden also favors directing taxpayer money to Planned Parenthood.
In 1994, Biden voted to cut off federal funds to schools that taught an acceptance of the gay lifestyle. In 1996, he voted FOR the Defense of Marriage Act.
Oh, but like so many Democrats, Joe “evolved.” Biden led the charge when he became vice president under Obama in favor of gay marriage.
The other thing of course is all the riots taking place in the streets across the country. We’d bet you dollars to donuts that not one of those “peaceful” protesters are Republicans. And what exactly are they doing?
Well besides looting, stealing, burning, and assaulting, they are also destroying stuff. It started out with Confederate symbols, then graduated to any historical figure, and then finally they are going after religious statues and artifacts. We won’t go into details but suffice it to say, religion and Democrats is a contradiction in terms.
Biden abandoning the tenets of his “faith” may not matter to the rioting miscreants destroying the country but perhaps it might matter to real Catholics, not fake ones like Biden. But for the anti-religious Democrat base, it will probably play well.
