Biden throws Border Patrol agents under the bus over bogus “whipping” allegations, vows to make them “pay”

The following contains editorial content written by a retired Chief of Police and current staff writer for Law Enforcement Today.

As usual, Biden and the Democrats have come down in opposition to law enforcement, which for those who are either current or former law enforcement officers comes as no surprise.

Despite the fact it has been proven through photographic evidence to the contrary, Joe Biden came out on Friday and once again claimed that border patrol agents in Del Rio had either “whipped or “strapped” illegal Haitian aliens and promised to make those agents “pay.” Those comments have left Border Patrol agents “stunned.”

Biden awoke from unconsciousness Friday afternoon to weigh in on the controversy which arose last weekend, when photos were released which showed agents deployed on horseback blocking Haitians from entering the United States.

Democrats seized on the pictures to initially claim that border agents on horseback were using “whips” to assault the Haitians.

That narrative was quickly put down by both Border Patrol officials as well as agents, however that matters not to Democrats and their bootlickers in the mainstream media. Despite the incident being explained in terms even idiot Democrats and state media can understand, they continue to fuel the fire.

Even the photographer who took the photos said border agents were not whipping anyone, merely using their reins to control the horses in order to protect the illegals.

Initially, feckless Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas pushed back against the false narrative, along with Border Patrol Chief Raul Ortiz.

However after getting his marching orders from someone, Mayorkas backed down a day later after the White House had referred to the images as “horrific.”

Mayorkas took to state media CNN and then claimed that the images “troubled me profoundly” and claimed that “one cannot weaponize a horse” against migrants, this despite the officers conducted the operation exactly as their training dictated.

On Friday, Biden awoke from his afternoon nap and spoke out as the agents involved have been relegated to desk duty while an investigation is underway and took the occasion to throw his border agents squarely under the bus.

“To see people treated like they did, horses barely running over, people being strapped—it’s outrageous,” Biden said as he make a whipping motion with his hand. “I promise you; those people will pay. There will be an investigation underway now and there will be consequences. There will be consequences.”

Biden’s feigned anger is amusing, especially considering he showed no such anger or remorse when a drone strike killed 10 innocent people in Afghanistan two weeks ago, including seven innocent children.

Nobody has suffered any “consequences” for that bungled operation. Nor likely will they. Hell, he wasn’t even this angry when thirteen American service members were killed in Afghanistan due to the bungled withdrawal there. Funny, Biden only gets angry when he’s apparently ordered to by his handlers in the Democrat Party.

As to Border Patrol agents, they were shocked and frankly pissed off when they heard Biden’s comments, with there being zero evidence that any Haitians were either run over or whipped.

Biden’s comments also came before any type of investigation was completed, rendering anything coming out of such tainted by his apparent predetermination that something nefarious was done.

“Would you go to work and do your best knowing that if you do your boss is going to ‘make you pay’?” one agent told Fox News. “I’m dumbfounded and don’t know what to say.”

“Is the president threatening to throw us in prison?” the agent asked.

Another agent said, “I see the administration wants to fry our agents. He just started a war with Border Patrol.”

The idea of a tainted investigation was echoed by Brandon Judd, head of the National Border Patrol Council, who asked how a fair investigation was now possible to be conducted after Biden interjected his ignorant and uninformed opinion.

“Now that the president of the United States has already said they did wrong, how is an investigator supposed to do a true and honest investigation?” he told Fox.

“Because if that investigator finds they did nothing wrong—and they didn’t do anything wrong—but if that investigator finds they didn’t do anything wrong, how is that investigator’s job going to go?”

Judd called Biden’s comments were “completely and totally outrageous,” while accusing the incompetent Biden of “playing politics with Border Patrol agents’ lives.”

Judd said the officers at the center of the controversy were doing the job they were tasked with by the same gutless hack who is now throwing them under the bus.

“Nobody was struck by a rein, not one person was struck by a rein, not one person was run over by those horses. They used the tactics they were trained to do, to do the job [Biden] sent them out to do—these are executive branch employees,” Judd said.

“He sent them out there to do the job and now he’s criticizing them because his base wants them to.”

Judd was apoplectic over the comments, an anger he said was shared by his fellow Border Patrol agents.

“Since he’s made that comment, my phone has obviously blown up. People are beyond incensed right now,” he said.

Meanwhile, former acting Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Mark Morgan told Fox News that agents have been “condemned, careers ruined, and reputations irreparably harmed, without any due process—all to distract from the out-of-control catastrophic crisis at our southern border.”

He continued, “How will they get a fair impartial inquiry now when everyone in the chain of command all the way up to the president of the United States has already concluded they are already guilty of some form of atrocity?” Morgan, former Border Patrol chief told Fox News in an interview.

“The Cambridge Police acted stupidly.” Biden learned from his former mentor, Barack Obama, who threw the Cambridge (MA) police under the bus famously after an incident in that city before all the facts were obtained. Biden’s just following the Barack Hussein Obama playbook.

“For the president today that, he has become emotionally unhinged and caved to the woke cancel culture,” he said. “The agents feel betrayed, stabbed in the back, demoralized.”

Meanwhile, National Border Patrol Council Vice President Jon Anfinsen told Fox that the immigration crisis has gutted the morale of the Border Patrol workforce on a level unprecedented in the agency’s history, saying “it didn’t have to happen like this.”

Fox said they previously spoke to several of the horse agents who have now been sidelined by the administration’s ban on use of the horses.

They complained they were angry and frustrated about the false “whip” narrative, with one agent telling the outlet he’s now giving out meals and turning lights off and on rather than actually patrolling the border.

He noted that the kids in Biden’s internment camp for Haitians loved the horses, which have now been relegated to being locked in a stall all day.

One agent also noted that one picture showed one of the illegal migrants grabbing onto the reins of one of the horses, which in their use of force matrix actually allows them to use deadly physical force if they deemed it necessary.

One agent said he hoped the agents at the center of the made-up controversy eventually sue someone, and also took a shot at Biden.

“I am appalled but not surprised that this President would stand at a national televised address and bold face lie or again show his utter incompetence, to the press and the American people, including his childish threats of retaliation,” the agent said.

He also accused Ortiz of being “missing in action” in light of the controversy.

“This is really pushing morale to lows not seen before…just when you think it is at its lowest in comes this administration to push it lower,” the agent said.

Judd said that despite lack of support from the administration and morale was low, they would keep doing their job, although he is concerned there may be some second-guessing by agents, which could prove dangerous for law enforcement and those they seek to protect.

“I know these agents…even though they do not have the support of this president, they’re still going to go out and they’re still going to do their job, because they do care about this country, they do care about border security, they do care about the safety of the citizens of this country,” he said.

“So they’re still going to do their job, but they’re going to be second-guessing themselves in everything that they do, knowing that the president, without the benefit of an investigation, is already condemning them.”
