Biden staffer tries to block Sen. Cruz from filming migrant facility – and it might be the biggest mistake of her career

DONNA, TX – During a recent broadcast of Fox News Channel’s “Sunday Morning Futures,” Senator Ted Cruz revealed footage of a woman he identified as a Biden administration staffer blocking him from filming at a migrant facility.

According to the video obtained by the senator, he was attempting to capture footage at the Border Patrol facility situated in Donna, Texas, when a woman objected and stated:

“Please give dignity to the people. Please give dignity to the people.”

In the video, Senator Cruz responded to the woman, saying:

“So you work for the commissioner. You’re a senior adviser. You were hired two weeks ago, and you’re instructed to ask us to not have any pictures taken here because the political leadership at DHS does not want the American people to know it.”

The woman continued her objections, responding with:

“Please don’t treat the people as such.”

Senator Cruz clearly wasn’t amused or distracted from the requested abstaining from filming in the interest of aspects like “dignity,” responding with:

“Your policies are unfortunately trying to hide them. I understand that you were instructed. I respect them, and I want to fix this situation, and the administration that you work for is responsible for these conditions.”

When discussing the clip while appearing on “Sunday Morning Futures,” Senator Cruz explained the disparities between the facility’s originally designed intended-capacity, then COVID-minded capacity, and then the actual current capacity of the facility:

“The Donna facility where that video you just showed was taken, the Donna facility is this giant tent city that they’ve built. It’s massive. It’s designed to hold a thousand people, but under COVID restrictions, its capacity is 250.

“It right now has over 4,000 people in it. It is at a 1,500% capacity, and that meant you saw in these cages children, little boys and little girls, side by side, they’re not 6-feet apart.”

This particular matter involving the purported President Biden administrative staffer barring filming of the interior of the migrant facility is getting some mixed responses online.

While the Biden administration has been getting browbeat from numerous directions across the political spectrum for allegedly trying to suppress media coverage of the goings on inside of detention facilities along the southern border, this isn’t the first instance where such has occurred.

Back in August of 2019, the Trump administration came under heavy scrutiny for reportedly barring  investigators from visiting immigrant detention centers around the country after visits conducted previously had exposed “serious ongoing problems” with detainee treatment.

Representative Elijah Cummings, the chairman of the House Oversight and Reform Committee, said in August of 2019 that committee staff had been prohibited from accessing 11 U.S. Customs and Border Protection centers days after prior audits uncovered conditions that compromised the health and wellbeing of the adult and child migrants being kept there.

At the time, Rep. Cummings alleged that no committee staff could directly speak with any of the detainees or use their cellphones to document any of the conditions during the period.

In other news related to criticism aimed at President Biden’s handling of the southern border, Donald Trump Jr. recently weighed in on the matter, criticizing the treatment of National Guard troops that were in D.C. versus the manner in which immigrant detainees are currently being treated.

Here’s that previous report from earlier in March.

WEST PALM BEACH, FL- Remember those pictures and videos of National Guard troops in Washington, DC, charged with “protecting” lawmakers from “insurrectionists” after the siege at the US Capitol on January 6?

Contrast that with the latest move made by the Biden administration, housing illegal aliens in hotels near the southern border.

One person who noticed is Donald Trump Jr.

On Saturday, the eldest son of former President Donald Trump posted a video and illustrated the contrast between how American soldiers were treated by the government and how illegal aliens are treated.

The Post Millennial wrote that Trump Jr. noted that illegal migrants entering the country are receiving hotel rooms while National Guard troops were forced to sleep in parking garages.

“Illegal immigrants coming into this country and breaking our laws get hotel rooms, paid for you by the American taxpayer, while our National Guard, guarding DC […] sleep on a cold hard floor,” Trump said.

The younger Trump pointed out that those illegal migrants are getting hotel rooms, estimated at a cost of $89 million.

“You, the American taxpayer, are going to pay $89 million to put illegal immigrants in hotel rooms, while our National Guard sleeps on the floor. That would never have happened under the Trump administration.”

At the time it was uncovered that National Guard troops were being exposed to such terrible accommodations, the former president offered the use of his hotels in Washington, DC out of respect for those troops as well as their service to our country.

“More importantly, there would never be this kind of influx under the Trump administration, because Trump policies actually worked at the border,” Trump Jr. said. “They deterred people from coming.”

He continued, “That’s why drug trafficking was down under Trump. It’s why human trafficking was down under Trump. It’s why illegal border crossings were down under Trump,” he said of the former Trump administration.

“You have an unprecedented number of people coming across the border. I can’t even blame them. But this was caused by a total lack of judgment in the Biden administration. By a total lack of competence. And now, you, the American taxpayer get to pay for it, as always.”

Trump Jr lamented the fact that it’s his belief is that illegals coming into the country seem to be faring better than Americans.

“Why would illegal immigrants coming into the country illegally be treated better than our National Guardsmen?” he asked.

“That’s the inequity. That’s inequity. You want to talk about inequity, that’s it.”

There has been a record surge in illegals storming the border, caused in large part by Biden’s open invitation for illegals to come to the United States, noting on his inauguration day that he would suspend deportations in his first 100 days in office.

That statement was taken as a signal by illegals in central America and Mexico that they had 100 days to make it across the US-Mexico border.

In addition, Biden has ordered other actions taken, canceling the Trump-era “Remain in Mexico” policy. This has resulted in a flood of illegals crossing the border into states such as Texas and Arizona.

While Biden’s administration refers to their policies as “humanitarian,” they don’t have the facilities in order to properly shelter, process or care for those who are crossing the border into the United States.
