It doesn’t seem like a matter of are the wheels coming off on the Joe Biden campaign. The wheels are off and rolling down the street.
We all know Uncle Joe. He spins more yarns than your grandmother. He likes to hug kids. A lot. Joe likes to threaten to beat up people who disagree with him. He recently called a 21-year-old young woman who dared ask him about his loss in the Iowa caucuses a “lying dog-faced pony soldier” …whatever the hell that is.
Biden was in New Hampshire for the Democratic presidential primary, where he is once again going down in flames. At the time this is published, is shown finishing fifth. Remember last week Biden got smoked in Iowa.
Still, Joe is a lot of fun. You never know what you’re going to get out of him.
During a question and answer session in Hudson, NH., Biden made the following statement while talking to gun owners:
“There is a Second Amendment and you do have a right to bear arms but not an unlimited right.”
Later on, he added,
“The constitution does not say anybody can own a weapon, it says only certain people can own weapons.”
Uh, not sure which Constitution you’re reading there Joe, but ours says:
“A well-regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”
So, the Second Amendment that we are reading does neither, restrict who can own a weapon, and does not put any restrictions thereof. So, his two statements are factually incorrect, but we have come to expect that from Biden.
Biden then made reference to gun owners who quote Thomas Jefferson’s statement speaking to the tension that exists between free men and rulers who wish to suppress them; Jefferson famously made the observation that “the tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots & tyrants.”
Biden: "Those who say 'the tree of liberty is watered with the blood of patriots' — a great line, well, guess what: The fact is, if you’re going to take on the government you need an F-15 with Hellfire Missiles. There is no way an AK-47 is going to take care of you." pic.twitter.com/npmW40DHS2

To that, Biden responded,
“Those who say ‘the tree of liberty is watered with the blood of patriots’—a great line, well guess what: The fact is, if you’re going to take on the government you need an F-15 with Hellfire Missiles. There is no way an AK-47 is going to take care of you if you’re worried about the government knocking down your door.”
Is it any wonder why Uncle Joe is getting crushed in the primaries?
Think about this for a minute. Here is Joe Biden, former vice-president suggesting that the United States government would use jet fighters and air-to-surface missiles against American citizens in an imaginary insurgency.
One has to wonder how such statements play in areas of the country where guns are an important way of life and in so-called “flyover country.” Not very well we imagine.
What else did Biden get wrong? Well he did mention being against guns that hold a lot of clips. Once again, a politician shows total ignorance of weapons. “Guns that hold a lot of clips?”
Of course, Joe was referring to these weapons in reference to children having active shooter drills in school “because we’re unwilling to have a rational policy that says you can’t have weapons with 20, 30, 40, 50 clips” in them.
One would think that those trying to take guns away from law-abiding citizens they might at least have a cursory understanding of firearms. None of them do..
Back to Biden’s statement.
Here is someone who wants to be president of the United States, with his finger on the nuclear button, basically threatening to use force against citizens of this country, and basically has the power to put down any uprising, should it occur.
Remember several months ago when failed presidential candidate and on-air gas blower Eric Swalwell said that gun ownership was pointless because the federal government “has the nukes.” Gee wonder why this guy’s candidacy went down in flames.
An excellent piece in the Washington Examiner brilliantly articulates the purpose of the Second Amendment. It says in part:
…it creates a careful (albeit lopsided) balancing act between ruler and ruled. A well-armed militia will obviously be outgunned by a professional military, but that is not the point.
The point is that the people can make themselves very hard to govern when the intentions of those in power are evil.
When all other checks and balances fail, politicians tempted to subvert the Constitution (Democrats seem to be discussing one politician in particular a lot lately) still feel themselves limited by the friction they know they could encounter in the form of an enraged, well-armed citizenry.”
It’s interesting, because as this piece points out, history itself is full of stories of armed civilians or militias if you will, defeating much more powerful armies. The Viet Cong in Vietnam were not comprised of professional soldiers and our history tells us what happened there. One of the largest super-powers in the world, the United States basically fell down in defeat, or left before that happened.
In Afghanistan, the Soviets invaded that country in 1979 and were put down by armed insurgents.
Hell, the person Biden himself quoted, Thomas Jefferson was a significant participant in the American Revolution. Were it not for citizen militias, the Continental Army would have likely lost to one of the most powerful army’s and navy’s in the world.
Have you ever seen The Patriot? While the movie does have some Hollywood stretching of facts, it is overall historically accurate as far as the significance the civilian militia had in the United States prevailing in the Revolutionary War.
The anti-gun crowd is getting desperate. As the uprising in Virginia by gun owners has shown, Second Amendment proponents are not going to just lie down and let the gun-grabbing Democrats run roughshod over their rights.
For Biden to suggest that the United States government would use weapons of war against its citizens is scary—scary indeed.
