WASHINGTON, DC- What else is to be expected from an administration that supports criminals over law enforcement, illegals over citizens, and Palestinian terrorists over our Israeli allies?

Such is the reason a watchdog group has filed a lawsuit against the Biden administration for violating federal law by sending money to the Palestinian government.

Protect the Public’s Trust (PPT), the watchdog group which is comprised of former government officials, is suing Biden for refusing to submit internal documents which they believe shows the administration violated the law which prohibits the Palestinian government from engaging in so-called “pay-to-slay schemes where US funds are directed to terrorists and their families, the Washington Free Beacon reported Monday.

PPT has charged the State Department is violating the Freedom of Information Act by refusing to turn over documents related to the administration’s decision to resume sending US aid to the Palestinian Authority.

Former President Donald Trump stopped the payments due to the Palestinian’s support of terrorists, and Congress passed the Taylor Force Act during the Trump administration.

Breitbart reports that according to the Palestinian Authority’s current policies, terrorists who are jailed in Israel received stipends based on the severity of their crime, i.e. the more Israelis they murdered, the more money they receive, hence “pay-to-slay.”

The Free Beacon received an exclusive copy of the lawsuit, which stated that the State Department refused to answer the PPT’s FOIA request for more than 240 days, which is well beyond the statutory requirement for a response.

According to the report:

The information in question could show the Biden administration resumed Palestinian aid in violation of a law known as the Taylor Force Act, a 2018 bipartisan piece of legislation that bars the federal government from providing taxpayer aid to the Palestinian government as long as it continues a policy known as “pay to slay,” in which aid dollars are used to pay terrorists and their families.

The Palestinian Authority continues to make these payments, generating concerns from lawmakers and watchdog groups like PPT that the Biden administration violated the law.

“The American public deserves transparency around this decision, which may not only be in violation of the law but could potentially result in increased danger for U.S. citizens and their allies,” Michael Chamberlain, PPT’s director, told the Free Beacon.

“But the State Department have yet to even give an estimate for when we will receive records, much less provide any.”

In addition, the report said the State Department had admitted to Congress in March 2021 that the Palestinian government had, in fact spent at least $151 million in 2019 on the pay-to-slay program.

A further $191 million was spent on “deceased Palestinians referred to as ‘martyrs,’” the State Department said.

In their FOIA demands, PPT demanded access to records including notes of meetings that discussed “the legality and oversight controls in place as it pertains to the Taylor Force Act, Anti-Terrorism Clarification Act of 2018, or other relevant laws or U.S. policies,” according to  the lawsuit.

PPT also demanded the release of all internal communications between Secretary of State Antony Blinken, State Department spokesman Ned Price, as well as any other officials involved in the decision to restart the Palestinian aid.

“The release of these documents is in the public interest because the public has a right to know whether high-ranking officials charged with formulating foreign policy are properly and wisely considering legal restrictions and policy implications related to providing funds that benefit the Palestinian Authority,” the lawsuit reads.

The lawsuit says that the State Department “has failed to produce responsive records, provide an estimate for when it will begin to produce responsive records, or even clearly confirm that it has begun searching for responsive records,” the lawsuit said.

The Free Beacon said the State Department has yet to respond to a request for comment.

Two men arrested and charged with the attempted murder of a Chicago cop after shooting him during a traffic stop

DIG DEEPER

JERUSALEM – Israeli police forces shot and killed a Palestinian after he had allegedly stabbed and wounded another man near Damascus Gate.

The area in which the attack happened is known to be the site of numerous clashes between Israeli forces and the Palestinians.

The incident unfolded in front of video surveillance which showed the assailant, later identified calming walking down a crosswalk until another man, identified as Avraham Elimelich (described as an ultra-Orthodox man) walks behind him.

In the video, the suspect immediately turns and attacks the victim, stabbing him repeatedly.

Israeli police forces were made aware of what was happening and immediately moved in to protect Elimelich. As the officers move in, the terrorist lunges towards the officers as they step back without firing.

As the officers attempt to hold the suspect at gunpoint, he again charges after officers which forces them to open fire, striking the man who fell to the ground.

Officers begin to move in to secure and render aid to the suspect but he again begins to move and the officers fire twice more, killing the man.

A bystander released a video of the shooting while the suspect was on the ground on Twitter which prompted condemnation immediately on the incident.

Not because the Israeli officers stepped in when they were being attacked, but seemingly because of the two rounds that were fired at the suspect who was already on the ground.

There was no information released as to the extent of the injuries Elimelich sustained as a result of being stabbed.

Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett and Public Security Minister Omer Barlev reviewed the video evidence that was presented in the matter and believe that the actions taken by their officers were justified based on the circumstances. In a statement, Prime Minister Bennett said:

“Regarding yesterday’s incident at Damascus Gate – I am glad that this time, not long after the edited Palestinian video was distributed, the full video was published by the police.

I suggest to everyone: Never rush to make a judgment about the behavior of officers in complex operational situations in the face of terrorism.

It’s always better to wait a minute…We cannot allow our capital city to become a hotbed of terrorism. The full video leaves no room for doubt that they [the police] acted excellently, as is required of them in such an operational situation.”

The man who was shot and killed was not named, however, it was reported that he was a Palestinian who had snuck into the country illegally. Additionally, he had previous arrests for incitement to violence in 2019.

Hamas, a documented terrorist organization that runs Palestine, came out and praised the vicious stabbing attack of Elimelech.

Even though they praised the actions of a man who was attempting to murder another in cold blood, they did not take any credit for the unprovoked attack.

The area where the attack happened is known for violent attacks as Palestinians often cross into Israel illegally and do violence on anyone they can find. Oftentimes, these attacks lead Israel to defend itself with military precision, as they did most recently in August of this year.

Israel sent in military jets to take out Hamas targets along the border with Palestine in response to several violent attacks between Palestinian protestors and Israeli troops. The attacks, as noted by Israel, were due to a Hamas militant facility that was launching incendiary balloons into Israel.

Report: Democrats defund Israel’s Iron Dome from U.S. budget, burning our closest ally

Share:

WASHINGTON, D.C.- According to reports, far-left Democrats forced out provisions to fund Israel’s Iron Dome from the continuing resolution (CR) that would keep the government funded and raise the debt ceiling.

Army Technology reports that, “Iron Dome provides defence[sic] against short-range missiles and rockets which pose a threat to the civilian population,” such as those fired from Gaza earlier in the year. It can be operated in all weather conditions, including fog, dust storms, low clouds and rain.

The Iron Dome detects, analyses and intercepts a range of incoming threats, including C-RAM, precise guided missiles, cruise missiles, unmanned aerial vehicles and air-breathing threats. Reportedly, the system has so far intercepted more than 2,500 incoming targets with a success rate of over 90 percent.

According to Army Technology:

“In July 2010, the US House of Representatives approved $205M in funding to speed up the production and deployment of Iron Dome.”

Politico reporter claimed that due to there not being enough votes to pass the CR as a result of pushback from far-left Democrats, House Democrats were forced to remove the Iron Dome provisions to pass the measure.

However, before the provisions were taken out, far-left Democrats allegedly told the Democrat leadership they would not vote for the bill if it included the $1 billion funding for the Iron Dome, which caused the Rules Committee to go into recess.

The CR has reportedly been revised with the Iron Dome provision taken out. The far-left members leading this effort have been Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Ilhan Omar (D-MN), and Rashida Tlaib (D-MI). Due to her thin majority in the House, Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) cannot have any opposition in her party if she hopes to pass anything.

Pelosi has already been facing opposition from the Republicans who have said they will not vote from the CR due to the provision to raise the debt ceiling in the bill. Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA), the head of the far-left Congressional Progressive Caucus is reportedly set to meet with Pelosi in the coming days.

There was also funding in the bill to replace the missiles used from the Iron Dome in May from the Hamas attack on the Jewish state. Bloomberg reported the Defense Department asked in a classified supplemental request of $1 billion.

According to that report, Democratic leaders are attempting to set up a vote on the stopgap funding bill to avert a government shutdown that also would suspect the debt ceiling until 2022 and provide money to aid states struck by natural disasters.

Breitbart News reported that on Tuesday, September 21st, Republicans slammed Democrats for defunding Israeli’s Iron Dome within the government funding bill.

The removal of the funds for the Iron Dome speaks to the panicked mood of the Democrat leadership over enacting President Joe Biden’s massive tax and spending proposals. In response, the White House has suggested that Biden approve the defunding of the Iron Dome.

Rep. Jody Hice (R-GA) tweeted that the Democrats caved to the radical left just after President Biden promised to help protect Israel from terrorism. He wrote:

“Speaker Pelosi JUST caved to the socialists and yanked funding for Israel’s Iron Dome from the government funding CR bill. Dems can’t even keep a promise for 24 hours.”

Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) tweeted the far-left has shown their true colors by defending Hamas. She wrote:

“The radical left shows their blatant disregard for supporting our ally Israel and Israel’s right to defend itself against Hamas terrorists.”

Rep. Randy Feenstra (R-IA) tweeted that Biden contradicted himself by proclaiming Israel to be an ally while allowing his party to abandon Israel. He wrote:

“President Biden proclaimed to our allies that ‘America is back,’ but since then he has abandoned Americans & allies in Afghanistan, weakened our relationships with France, and now his Party has let down Israel – our closest ally in the Middle East.”
