Believe it or not, Hollywood is making a movie about career criminal Saint George Floyd - (op-ed)

HOLLYWOOD, CA - The far left is going out of its way to make sure that the American people never even think about putting the memory of George Floyd in the trash heap of history where it belongs. Breitbart News reports that Hollywood is going to produce a movie about the drug-addicted, crime-riddled life of Floyd, whose death in the custody of Minneapolis police officers sparked a “summer of love”...otherwise known as a summer of deadly riots, four years ago.

For those whose memories need to be stirred, Floyd was arrested by Minneapolis police for passing counterfeit money at a business in the city, and while being taken into custody began to resist arrest. A now-famous (or is it infamous) video of Floyd’s arrest showed now-former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin with his knee on Floyd’s shoulder, although the narrative was that Chauvin had his knee on Floyd’s neck.

Floyd, who was later determined to be under the influence of fentanyl and methamphetamine was heard telling Chauvin “I can’t breathe.” Officers called EMS to tend to Floyd, however he later passed away. Chauvin, along with three other Minneapolis officers, was tried and convicted of a bevy of charges. Chauvin was sentenced to 20 years in prison for his alleged role in Floyd’s death.

Despite his history of using drugs and committing crimes, as well as pointing a gun at a pregnant woman, Floyd was held up as a folk hero on the left, and now Hollywood will memorialize his life.

Floyd’s daughter Gianna and her mother, Roxie Washington will serve as executive producers of the movie, according to a report in Variety. While no casting or director has yet been announced, Gregory Anderson is writing the screenplay of the film, Daddy Changed the World, which is being produced by Radar Pictures.

According to the producers, the movie will be a “gritty drama of a man and his community thrust into the fiery light of history.” Wow, almost Gandhi-like.

In speaking of the movie, Washington said in a statement:

“We are excited the world will see the real, jovial, and loving George we know. This film will humanize him, embody the essence of his life, and hopefully reignite efforts to pass the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act. It’s time for justice and equality for all.”

That proposal would implement a number of controversial restrictions on law enforcement, including the elimination of qualified immunity, which could put the personal wealth of police officers at risk over meaningless and baseless allegations. It would also limit the transfer of so-called “military-grade” equipment to police, would limit the use of force by police, and would restrict police techniques such as no-knock warrants, carotid holds, and other less-than-lethal uses of force.

Floyd was a criminal recidivist who served eight jail terms on charges ranging from drug possession to theft.

As if that weren’t enough, far-left lunatic Rep. Cori Bush (D-MO) again this week tried to hold up another criminal thug, Michael Brown, as some kind of folk hero, according to The Western Journal.

Brown was a criminal who robbed a convenience store and then when confronted by former Ferguson, Missouri police officer Darren Wilson, Brown attempted to take his duty sidearm, and was shot and killed for his efforts. The completely justified shooting of Brown spurred the completely bogus “hands up, don’t shoot” fantasy, where Brown allegedly had his hands up in surrender, which was completely debunked by witnesses, and also poured gasoline on the Black Lives Matter movement.

That shooting also helped launch the career of Bush, who used the incident to raise her public profile and end up getting her elected to Congress. Now, Bush is trying to once again resurrect the “Mike Brown Bill,” officially known as the Helping Families Heal Act. That is a $100 million boondoggle to provide mental health counseling for those who have been, as Bush described it, “impacted by police violence” and to help “reduce police violence” in communities impacted by it, The Hill reported.

Lying is, of course, nothing new to Bush. In 2021, she claimed “white supremacists” were hiding behind hills and shot at Ferguson protesters with “impunity.” That came as she was pushing for Kyle Rittenhouse, who shot three men, killing two, in self defense in Kenosha, Wisconsin, to spend the rest of his life in prison. Rittenhouse was exonerated on all charges.

Bush has also laughably claimed that Marxist leftists of today are the “heirs” of the heroism of those who participated in the 1960s civil rights movement, attempting to paint their violence as being somehow noble.

Bush’s statements about Ferguson have been repeatedly debunked, including by leftist Washington Post “fact checker” Glenn Kessler, who noted that a Missouri grand jury didn’t indict Wilson, nor did the Barack Obama Justice Department find evidence he had done anything wrong.

But Bush continues to push what is really “the big lie.” In a tweet on X, Bush wrote:

“Mike Brown should be turning 28 today, but his life was taken by a Ferguson police officer.”

One of Bush’s more bizarre claims, according to The Blaze, was when she posted a video to X where she claimed that police officers in the United States cause black Americans to experience “over 50 million days” of poor mental health annually.

“Police killings of unarmed black people are responsible for more than 50 million additional days of poor mental health days per year. It’s devastating our community, and it must be addressed,” Bush said, without citing the source for her sensationalistic claims, although the NAACP has made the same unsubstantiated claim.

Bush was lit up on X:

Bush is of course a member of the so-called "Squad," a gaggle of far-left Marxist hens who hate America, love Hamas, and are a daily embarrassment to the United States Congress and the people who voted for them.

Hollywood should be reduced to ashes. No one would miss them.

Laurence

I refuse to buy overpriced movie tickets to false, distorted films. The last decent film Hollywood made was Titanic in 1997.

Buzz

Piece of shiiite stoner career criminal George Floyd SUICIDED himself perpetrating one last crime... Good Officer Derek Chauvin must be immediately freed and made whole... The judge and DA involved belong in prison for life...

Actually no surprise with the the left/libs elevating him through a movie. Next thing will be nominated for posthumous peace prize & sainthood!!!!!!! Floyd was a common thug & nothing more.

Michael

Much like Obama getting the Nobel Peace Prize for doing nothing, the Floyd movie will probably win an Oscar for Best Picture.

Leftist Hollywood has always glamorized worthless criminals. Look at SCARFACE or BONNIE AND CLYDE, and a dozen others. Floyd was a worthless piece of welfare trash, so it is only natural that woke Hollywood will glamorize him. The film will picture him as an innocent victim of "White supremacy" or some such nonsense.

After 6 burglaries, 3 car thefts, multiple illegal trespasses, ongoing cocaine and alcohol addiction, committing 2 violent home invasions, 3 armed robberies, dealing Fentanyl and Meth, passing counterfeit money, beating 4 victims senseless and being arrested 23 times since 1998, George Floyd hasn't committed a crime in well over three years! His last arrest netted his family $27 million from the state and $20 million from a go fund me account. Oh, by the way, he was recognized by the Speaker of the House of Representatives of the United States of America (N. Pelosi), as one of the bravest people who "gave his life for the cause of Racial Injustice" in our country.

All of this comes down to one thing......money. George Floyd was a criminal and now of course his family is exploited this and the movie industry of course is on board purposely for the payback! Only in America!........really nauseating

I wonder if the filmmakers will bother to interview the woman who was pregnant and had Floyd hold the gun to her belly and threaten to kill her and her baby if she didn’t give up her valuables? Naw, why tell the truth, they haven’t thus far about Floyd.

I'm a legal immigrant and longtime naturalized citizen of the United States. I'm retired law enforcement and retired military. But, in spite of the loyalty and love that exemplifies, I have been sick of the "state" of this nation for a very long time. I am sick of American Society and what it has become: an undiluted cesspool of human greed, human avarice, human depravity, and the waste of an ever-increasing number of humans. Just when I think I've seen, heard, or read everything related to the sordid "Sodom and Gomorrah" state of this country, I'm proven wrong. Hollywood will never let us down when it comes to filth, fiction, or absolute falsehood. Anything that would memorialize this cretin of crime is simply adding "more sickeninger" to the festering sickness of America. Ladies and gentlemen of law enforcement: if you've never thought we are on the front lines of the last line of defense of all that's right and good about this great nation, by God, believe it. Watch your 6, and stay safe.
