Suzanne Morphew’s bicycle was found in the vicinity of County Road 225 and West U.S. Highway 50.

There have been numerous reports saying Suzanne’s bicycle has been found just west of County Road 225 and West U.S. Highway 50. However, the Sheriff’s Office has only confirmed “a personal item was found” which they believe belonged to the missing cyclist.

According to a press release, members of the Sheriff’s Office, the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI), and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) are conducting a comprehensive search of the area.

More than 50 investigators and searchers will concentrate on that area to find additional items or clues that might lead them to Suzanne. The search will close U.S. Highway 50 over Monarch Pass for an undetermined amount of time according to 9 News.

Over the past week, more than 100 personnel from law enforcement and search and rescue teams have searched for Suzanne. They have used tracking dogs and drones to aid in the search. Members of the Colorado Parks and Wildlife and the South Ark Swiftwater Rescue Teams have also searched the watershed areas of the Arkansas River.

In addition, Reach Air Ambulance has flown several search missions, but Suzanne has yet to be located.

Suzanne is a cancer survivor and described as a “fighter” who is very close to her two daughters.

“We are strong and so is Suzanne,” said her nephew Trevor Noel. “We’re searching tirelessly and know that she is resilient and tough. We will find her and bring her home. Suzanne, we love you!”

Her community has banded together to support the Morphew family. “She is truly the sweetest, loving soul I know,” one wrote.

Authorities have not released many details about the missing person case, but Chaffee County Sheriff John Spezze told media that he is not ruling out foul play. Authorities do not believe Suzanne was attacked or trapped by animals.

A $200,000 is being offered for Suzanne’s safe return. No questions asked. A $100,000 was placed by Suzanne’s husband Barry and the other half by a generous family friend.

Donations will be put directly towards:

  • Supporting the well-being of Suzanne’s family.
  • Food for family and volunteers.
  • Housing accommodations for family.
  • Compensating family and volunteers for their time spent away from work and with the Morphew family.

The “Please Help Us Find Suzanne and Get Her Home Safe” page indicated Trevor and the family will be tracking expenses meticulously, allocating the appropriate funding to all designated areas detailed in a report of costs.

“We are progressing and are NOT slowing down the search,” Trevor Noel told the DailyMail.com. “We are covering the mountains on foot and ATV when possible and all surrounding areas looking for any sign of her.”

In addition, a “Find Suzanne Morphew” Facebook page has drawn support of the public with close to 5,000 people following the page.
