Anti-gun celebrities protected by armed police officers at Golden Globes

Photojournalist Allen J. Schaben captured many different kinds of pictures at the Golden Globe Awards last night.

To be clear, I couldn’t care less about the awards, or at least I couldn’t until Ricky Gervais ripped the hypocritic, outspoken Hollywood elitists a new one.

Seriously, if you haven’t seen his monologue, do yourself a favor and watch it.  It was the only thing that was golden about those ceremonies.

My favorite photo that I’ve seen from the event is a photo of the infamous red carpet.  Strutting down the runway with thousands of onlookers hoping to catch a glimpse of who is wearing what dress is a group of people you would not expect.  They’re not actors, nor musicians or comedians.

They’re police.

One has a police dog with him.  Two are in full SWAT gear, armed with rifles.

Wait a minute.  I thought Hollywood was anti-gun?  I thought they viewed police as oppressive and militant?

Interesting that it’s not okay for the average joe citizen to carry a firearm for their own protection, but celebrities want the full gamut when it comes to theirs.

There’s that Hollywood hypocrisy we all know and love.

While they had snipers on roofs, security checks, armored cars, and bomb sniffing dogs walking around, they were also pushing a climate change agenda.

The Golden Globes are put on by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, whose president, Lorenzo Soria, said regarding the fully vegan meal served at the awards ceremony, “The climate crisis is surrounding us and we were thinking about the new year and the new decade. So we started talking between us about what we can do to send a signal.  We don’t think we’ll change the world with one meal, but we decided to take small steps to bring awareness. The food we eat, the way it is processed and grown and disposed of, all of that contributes to the climate crisis.”

You sent us a signal, alright, just probably not the one you were attempting to send.

Joaquin Phoenix took to Instagram and, on his sister Rain’s account, said, “By acknowledging animal agriculture’s role in the degradation of our planet and boldly taking measures to do its part to reduce harm, the HFPA has shown great leadership. Thank you, Mr. Soria, the brilliant chefs, and everyone working so hard to confront the environmental perils we face by supporting a plant-based 77th Golden Globes celebration.”

Here is what was served to millionaire celebrities: Plant-based meal, including chilled golden beet soup with locally grown chervil and amaranth, a main course of king oyster mushrooms cooked and presented to resemble scallops, with wild-mushroom risotto (parmesan free, of course), roasted baby purple and green brussels sprouts, globe carrots and pea tendrils. The vegan dessert is a take on an opera cake, prepared by Beverly Hilton Hotel’s executive chef Matthew Morgan.

PETA tweeted its praise for HFPA and the golden globe celebrities.

Ricky Gervais also had thoughts on this “progressive” menu.

“”I think it is a good idea that 800 people are trying to save the planet and arriving all in separate limos to have some veg,” he told Access Hollywood.

Although the entitled celebs didn’t listen, Ricky also asked them to not give political rants if they won awards.

He said, “So if you do win an award tonight, please don’t use it as a platform to make a political speech. You’re in no position to lecture the public about anything. You know nothing about the real world. Most of you spent less time in school than Greta Thunberg. So if you win, come up, accept your little award, thank your agent and your God and f–k off.”

If only they had listened to you, Ricky.

Michelle Williams had much to say during her acceptance speech all about how she’s grateful to be able to have abortions when she doesn’t feel like having kids, and also about how women need to vote for their own self-interest, like men have been doing for years.

Last I checked, women have had the right to vote for 100 years, so I’m not sure why she was so close to tears with her whiny little voice on stage about it.  Other celebs ate that crap up, and multiple women in the audience had to wipe tears from their eyes.

Please.

Russell Crow also preached via proxy Jennifer Aniston about climate control.  His most memorable statement:

“Make no mistake.  The tragedy unfolding in Australia is climate-changed based.”

No idiot.  It’s 150 people-committing-arson based.

“We need to act based on science,” he said.

How about the science of putting criminals in jail, and, wait for it…keeping them there?

Okay.  Back to guns.

Beverly Hill Police Department Capt. Michael Hill told reporters prior to the event, “We have a robust security plan that includes assistance from our local, state, and federal law enforcement partners. Additionally, we will be using the most contemporary technologies in an attempt to ensure the ceremony is held without incident.”

Part of that “contemporary technology” the captain referred to was indeed high-powered rifles.  The very same ones that liberals (including a vast majority of the Golden Globe attendees) want banned.

Good guys with guns.  Protecting people who don’t believe guns have a place in our society.

I can’t 100 percent confirm this, because I can’t possibly stomach watching such a worthless waste of time like the GG’s (minus Ricky’s rants, of course), but I haven’t heard of even one of those stuck-up celebs thanking police for keeping them safe last night.  Or any other night for that matter.

So, keep on preaching how horrible police are, how dangerous guns are, and how racist and oppressive it is to hold criminals accountable for their actions and putting them in jail.

We’ll just be over here protecting you and your rights to say such mindless, ignorant garbage.

I know you’re not grateful but I’ll say it anyway: You’re welcome.
