NEW YORK CITY- It seems like New York City has decided to embrace the illegals being shipped up to the city from Texas, courtesy of Gov. Greg Abbott (R).

Last weekend, the city handed out free cellphones to hundreds of illegal immigrants and announced it plans to enroll some 1,000 children (also here illegally) in city schools, the Epoch Times reports.

On Aug 21, NYC Health + Hospitals, the city’s hospital system held an event in The Bronx where they handed out free phones, school supplies, library cards and health care to illegals. The New York Post reported that at least some of the illegals had been bused from Texas.

One illegal, Adrian Medina, 32, of Venezuela told the paper he was in the United States looking for work.

“I came to New York about three days ago. I am a welder and I am looking for work here,” he said.

The city said that on Aug. 19, they believed an estimated 1,000 children of illegals in the country “seeking asylum” were to be enrolled in the city’s school system for the new school year.

Under a program called “Project Open Arms,” it will focus on ensuring the newly arrived children are ready for the new school year, said New York’s mayor Eric Adams, city schools Chancellor David Banks, and Social Services Commissioner Gary Jenkins in announcing the program.

As a so-called “sanctuary city,” New York does not cooperate with federal officials to assist in apprehending illegals while investing taxpayer money to assist the illegal immigrants.

“Our city has been, and will always be, a city of immigrants and welcomes newcomers with open arms,” Adams said in a statement.

“Project Open Arms ensures we are well-prepared to assist asylum-seekers as the school year begins and that we are offering wraparound services to students and families.”

The influx of illegals follows decisions by Abbott and Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey to “share the wealth” with blue states such as New York and other northeastern cities as a result of Joe Biden’s failure to secure the southern border, which has seen nearly two million illegals into the country since he became president.

Abbott and Ducey ordered officials in their respective states to give bus rides to illegals who crossed the border illegally and were released by Biden’s Department of Homeland Security.

While crossing the border between points of entry is illegal and is supposed to result in deportation, the administration has refused to do so, and has signaled that anyone coming into the country in such a manner who claims asylum will be allowed to remain in the country until their claims are heard.

However, due to the unprecedented invasion of the southern border as a result of the green light given by Biden, there is a tremendous backlog that will result in claims not being heard for years.

Moreover, many illegals don’t show up to their hearings, while others, despite their claims being rejected, are still not removed, a violation of federal law. Even with the record influx of illegals entering the country, the number of releases has gone up while the number of deportations has gone way down.

Abbott and Ducey took the unprecedented action as a way to force Biden and Congress to do something about the invasion at their borders with Mexico which has put a tremendous strain on municipal resources in Texas and Arizona, along with causing a spike in crime not only in border towns but the interior of both states as well.

Initially, Texas shipped the illegals to Washington, D.C. where they could be “up close and personal” with the White House and Congressional Democrats.

That move caused D.C. mayor Muriel Bowser to make the unprecedented move of asking for the DC National Guard to be deployed to help the city manage the influx. Despite two such requests, Bowser was turned down.

More recently, Abbott felt that New York, another uber-liberal state, should enjoy the fruits of Biden’s ignorance.

Estimates are that over 7,0000 illegals have been shipped to the nation’s capital, while over 900 have been sent to New York, the Texas governor’s office said on Aug. 19. Meanwhile, New York officials have said more than 6,000 have arrived in the state since April.

Last weekend, Adams claimed that three buses carrying 140 asylum seekers had arrived at the New York Port Authority’s bus station in the Big Apple.

One dirty little secret not shared by the Biden administration is the number of illegals on terrorist watch lists who have been nabbed at the border…and the unknown number who have gotten away. For more on that, we invite you to:

WASHINGTON, DC – The Biden administration has been less than transparent regarding its literal dead-of-night movement of illegal aliens across America and its gifting to economic grifters U.S. taxpayer-funded cell phones, housing, food, cash, health care, legal assistance and more.

So should Americans feel nervous about the mysterious disposition of 42 suspected terrorists who have been arrested by U.S. Border Patrol agents while entering the country illegally?

When the chief of Homeland Security says “some” of these people “may” have been released to go about their business, should Americans demand details? Are Americans being told they can sleep soundly while the government works overtime to settle foreign terrorists in their neighborhoods?

The public doesn’t really know what the government is up to, and that’s the point. Suspected terrorists dropping off watchlists could just be the sensible and humane house-cleaning of innocent people caught up on no-fly lists because their names are the same as some documented terrorists’ names.

Then again, the FBI watchlist through which these people’s names were flagged states with certainty that those on it are “reasonably suspected to be involved in terrorism (or related activities).”

But politicians asking questions of bureaucrats and accepting their non-answers is the usual, anemic response to serious concerns. Consider this. The public remains uneducated about the whereabouts of the 42 suspected terrorists after Homeland Security Secretary Alejandryo Mayorkas admitted that some of them may have been released into the United States.

Mayorkas was speaking May 4 before the Senate Homeland & Governmental Affairs Committee in Washington. He testified:

“Some may be placed in removal proceedings. Some may be placed in criminal custody. Some may be cooperating with law enforcement. Some may be downgraded from the terrorist rating.”

In an about-face from testimony in April, Mayorkas said officials in his agency DO know the “precise disposition” of each of the 42 suspected terrorists but he refused to disclose the information in a public setting, for security considerations.

He offered instead to give a classified briefing to Sen. Rob Portman (R-Ohio), who had been questioning him. Portman said replied:

“I look forward to getting that information.”

The Department of Homeland Security recently revealed that between Jan. 20, 2021, and March 2022, a total of 42 people on the terror watchlist “attempted to enter the United States illegally” and were arrested by border agents.

DHS disclosed the information in a written response to questions from Rep. Chip Roy (R-Texas). It said:

“Since January 20, 2021, the U.S. Border Patrol and the Office of Field Operations has arrested 42 subjects who were on the terror watchlist and attempted to enter the United States illegally. These numbers are inclusive of anyone who may be on the No-Fly List.”

The DHS also disclosed that 479 known gang members have been arrested at the border since Jan. 20, 2021, including 183 members of MS-13, one of the most brutal gangs operating in the country.

An additional 3,000 “special-interest” aliens were apprehended at the southwest border in 2018, it said.

Rep. Mike Johnson (R-La.) said:

“Countless numbers of known terrorists and vicious gang members are clearly coming across the border and making their way into our communities, all over the country.”

In a hearing on April 28, Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) asked Mayorkas whether any of the suspects are still in the country. Mayorkas replied:

“Some of them may still be in detention.”

Jordan then asked if any had been released into the United States and Mayorkas said he did not know, triggering criticism from Republicans. When asked, Mayorkas said simply:

“I do not know the answer to your question.”

Rep. Johnson said in response:

“This is outrageous. Of all our federal agencies, sir, I think yours is the one that has the smallest margin of error. Because if the secretary of homeland security is unable or unwilling to give these answers, to perform his duties and accomplish his mission, crime surges, chaos ensues, and innocent people die. Mr. Mayorkas, that is exactly what is happening on your watch.”

Sen. Portman, the ranking member of the panel, said in his opening statement May 4 that he was shocked when he learned the number of suspected terrorists who have been apprehended.

Other Republicans during the hearing on Wednesday touched on the issue as well. Sen. Rick Scott (R-Fla.) told Mayorkas the 42 names on the terror watchlist:

“. . .are the ones we know you caught; we don’t know how many you didn’t.”

Democrat Sen. Gary Peters of Michigan, the panel’s chairman, suggested the handling of the watchlist issue was a Joe Biden campaign promise in action.

Peters said Arab-Americans have “long endured lengthy and intrusive screening when traveling.” He said that Biden, while campaigning in 2020, promised to order DHS to review how people are placed on the watchlist and the no-fly list to make sure that the processes “do not have an adverse impact on individuals or groups based on national origin, race, religion or ethnicity.”

He added it could be to “improve the process to remove names, when justified, from these lists.” Peters asked Mayorkas:

“Can you provide an update on the progress of your review and when you expect changes to be implemented?”

Mayorkas said the work is underway but that he could not provide any further information at this time.

Homeland Security Secretary clueless as to whereabouts of 42 illegals on terror watch list who entered US

April 30, 2022

The following includes editorial content which is the opinion of the writer.

WASHINGTON, DC – In an administration full of incompetent hacks, perhaps none is more incompetent than Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.

Under fierce grilling by House Republicans this past week, Mayorkas actually admitted he is clueless when it comes to the whereabouts of 42 illegal aliens apprehended at the southern border who were flagged for appearing on the government’s terrorist watch or no-fly lists, The Western Journal reports.

Ranking Republican on the House Judiciary Committee, Jim Jordan (R-OH), accosted Mayorkas as he appeared before the committee Thursday while trying to advocate for the DHS budget. Jordan asked the feckless Mayorkas:

“Have any of the 42 illegal migrants on the terrorist watch list or no-fly list encountered on our southwest border been released into the United States?”

Attempting to punt the question, Mayorkas replied:

“I will provide that data to you with respect to the disposition of each one. I do not know the answer to your question.”

Jordan hit back:

“The secretary of Homeland Security does not know the answer to the status of 42 individuals who came to our southern border illegally [who] are on the no-fly list and the terrorist watch list. You do not know whether they have been released or not into the country. That’s your testimony?”

Mayorkas repeated that he would get the data to Jordan.

Jordan replied:

“That’s amazing.”

As with a number of Republicans, Jordan eviscerated Mayorkas, arguing in his opening statement that the current border crisis, which has seen record numbers of illegal aliens cross the border into the United States, is “intentional.”

Jordan said:

“It has to be. The chaos on our southern border is not an accident. It’s deliberate. It’s on purpose. It’s by design.”

Continuing, Jordan said:

“President Biden on Day 1 said there’d be a moratorium on deportations. He ended ‘Remain in Mexico,’ he terminated agreements with Northern Triangle countries and he stopped building the wall.”

Jordan reminded Mayorkas that over 2.4 million illegal aliens have crossed the border since Biden was inaugurated in January 2021, and that doesn’t include an unknown number of so-called “got-aways” who avoided apprehension.

Jordan asked:

“Do you think that maybe—just maybe—your actions and your policies are encouraging migrants to come to the border?”

He also noted changes made in border policy under Biden and the impending halt to Title 42 next month, which has allowed for expedited deportations during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Mayorkas, in an attempt to excuse his and the administration’s ineptitude, said:

“The increase at the border is the result of a number of factors, and it’s a regional phenomenon…”

Jordan interrupted:

“I’m asking about those specific factors, your actions, your policies.”

Mayorkas replied:

“I do not.”

Sleep well, America. The “adults” are in charge.
