Director Michael Franklin, Department of Veteran Affairs Police Services, sadly reports the death of Officer Ronald A. Leisure.

Officer Leisure, 66, was performing his normal duties conducting a foot patrol and making routine checks in the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Livermore, California when he suddenly collapsed.

Medical staff in the hospital immediately initiated CPR and other lifesaving measures but were unable to revive him.

Officer Leisure was an Army Vietnam veteran. He had served the Department of Veteran Affairs Police Department for 15 years. He is survived by his adult daughter.
