Chicago Sergeant Makes Terrible Discovery
All of us serving in law enforcement know that part of the job is seeing the worst side of humanity. We mentally brace ourselves when responding to shooting calls or
accident scenes. Those of you who practice spirituality may want to keep Chicago Police Sgt. Darwin Butler in your prayers. Butler recently responded to a scene in which his own stepson, Darius Parish, a pharmacy student at St. Xavier University, shot dead in the driver’s seat of his white Monte Carlo. Butler himself was shot in the line of duty
14 years ago. Sgt. Butler commented that this sad incident only strengthens his resolve to reduce gun violence in his jurisdiction.
