In Memoriam – RCMP Constable Adrian Oliver

Bill Fordy, Chief Superintendent of the RCMP in Surry, British Columbia announced that RCMP Constable Adrian Oliver was killed early Tuesday morning in an automobile accident.

The crash occurred in the intersection of 64th & 148th Street in Surry at about 5:00am. Surry is Vancouver, British Columbia neighborhood.

Constable Oliver was driving an unmarked patrol vehicle and collided with a semi truck tractor.  Officials state that the truck did not have a trailer attached at the time of the crash.  Details of the crash investigation have not been released other than to say that the patrol vehicle was broad sided by the truck tractor.  The impact on the patrol vehicle was on the driver’s side.

Paramedics on scene found Constable Oliver pinned in the vehicle and unconscious.  He was transported to a local hospital but was pronounced deceased upon arrival at the hospital. The Vancouver Police Department is providing assistance to the RCMP during the investigation of the crash.

Constable Oliver’s father and brother are also RCMP officers.  His father is assigned to a detachment in Ottawa and one of his brothers serves in the Lower Mainland, B.C.  He served the Royal Canadian Mounted Police for four years.

Constable Oliver is survived by both of his parents and two brothers.
