CBP agents with the Del Rio Sector apprehend more than 50 convicted sex offenders attempting to illegally cross the southern border

DEL RIO, TX - On Wednesday, April 10th, Chief Patrol Agent Robert Danely with the United States Border Patrol's Del Rio Sector announced that his sector alone has apprehended 54 convicted sex offenders since October of 2023.

The announcement, which came via a post on X, said, "Since October 1, 2023, Del Rio Sector Border Patrol agents have apprehended 54 convicted sex offenders after illegally crossing the border and attempting to evade law enforcement. Our agents remain steadfast in safeguarding our border and protecting our communities."

According to the Blaze Media, one of the apprehended sex offenders was caught while crossing the border with a group of illegal immigrants who were attempting to evade law enforcement and disperse themselves within the country. On Tuesday, April 9th, the Del Rio Sector shared a weekly recap from March 31st through April 6th.

The recap shows that Border Patrol agents reported 1,956 apprehensions, 472 gotaways, 28 smuggling cases, and four rescues over that time period. During that period, agents encounteredd nine criminals, including five attempted illegal re-entries, three individuals with DUIs, and one claiming false citizenship.

The week prior, Border Patrol agents in the same area reported 2,240 illegal immigrant apprehensions and 769 gotaways. According to Customs Border and Patrol (CBP) data, in the first five months of fiscal year 2024, the Del Rio Sector experienced more than 183,000 illegal immigrant encounters at the southern border. Nearly 99,000 of those encounters were single adults, close to 75,000 were family units, and approximately 8,7000 were unaccompanied children.

According to the Daily Caller, data from CBP shows that October 2023 numbers, which is considered the beginning of the fiscal year 2024, were part of a record-high month in 2023. The data shows that there were 240,988 illegal immigrant encounters at the southern border. By December 2023, Border Patrol agents were hit with 302,034 encounters at both ports of entry as well between ports of the southern border.

The Border Patrol's El Paso Sector, which encompasses 125,500 square miles of the southern border, arrested 12 illegal immigrants back in February; all of whom had previous criminal records. At the time, CBP reported, "Migrants with criminal convictions encountered by El Paso Sector agents include aggravated felons such a sex offenders, child predators, and drug traffickers. Additional offenses include illegal possession of firearms, assault, domestic violence, and burglary. Some of the migrants encountered have gang or Mexican Drug Cartel affiliations."

El Paso Sector Chief Patrol Agent Anthony Scott Good said in a previous statement, "El Paso Sector agents work tirelessly to protect our border communities. Many times, our agents encounter migrants entering illegally into the United States who were previously removed with previous criminal records. Most of the time these individuals know, if arrested by Border Patrol, they will face incarceration once again. Therefore, they attempt to evade arrest. We continue to work with the U.S. Attorney's Office to hold these criminals accountable."

CBP data from February 2024 shows that authorities recorded 189,922 total encounters along the southern border. Agents recorded a massive spike in drug seizures with, "294 percent more methamphetamine, 164 percent heroin, and 140 percent more cocaine" collected in February 2024 than January 2024."

In a statement, Senior Official Performing the Duties of the Commissioner Troy A. Miller said, "CBP continues to work with our foreign and domestic partners to enhance enforcement efforts: aggressively targeting unscrupulous human smugglers and swiftly applying consequences against those who cross the border illegally and have no legal basis to remain in the United States."

Who supports turning our country into a 3rd world nation of crime for votes?? HUM! It is not President Trump! Are your doors locked, are you invoking the 2nd amendment rights to protect yourself and your family, or giving them up? Or, do you see a gain here with higher prices and the destruction of the American family and or destroy our economy, or lock up and spread gossip, fake stories change laws, just to destroy and demean an opponent in the upcoming election! Is this to protect yourself from being held accountable for your past discretions charging your appointment for what you and or your family did like falsely accusing them of improprieties during his term as president! SHAME ON YOU! Dear God, Father in Heaven, in Jesus's precious name save our nation, expose the real corruption, and hold them accountable. Amen
